suddenly kisses him on the cheek, so gently and soft, yan wushi’s brain absolutely malfunctions and is unable to have a coherent thought other than “a-qiao” for the next few minutes, and shen qiao definitely finds it amusing

It's not a secret since the official account posted about it, Caleb will return,, eventually, we just don't know when, or if he'll be an LI. Personally I hate the childhood friend trope but I know a lot of people are looking forward to it, so there's a strong potential that he'll be back for that reason! After all, we know for certain there will definitely be more than 3 LI's.
