thinking about that one time i did a shit ton of benadryl and cough syrup and saw the hat man in the corner of my room but it was jesus wearing a cowboy hat and he said “hello i’m jesus” and i said “hi i’m jewish” and then i had a panic attack for four hours
you're traveling alone on a long road, fifty miles away from being Somewhere. it's dark, you realized you really should've left earlier. you know you've never been the sharpest in the dark.
you see a glint, light catching a reflection in your passenger seat. you swore there wasn't anything there before, you're sure.
a tilt, ever so slightly, of the head reveals something that chills your bones. your precious box of 700 hammers... how could it possibly have ended up here?
by the time you turn your head back to the road, it's too late. your car explodes and hammers go everywhere and the hammers explode too.
as well as days where a heavy snow comes in, burying you in your own home until someone comes to plow. you may think you're safe because nothing can get in, but you forget that, now, nothing can get out either.
but it's fine, you were alone. right? the silence was truly empty. right?
now that winters here, can we appreciate how great of an environment winter can be for horror? torturous cold. the longest nights of the year. being outside on a winter night has a chilling (lol) vibe not like any other season. the snow on the ground reflects moonlight. it's not exactly dark out. there are no leaves. this combined with the light means you can see everything. but u can hear nothing. dead silence because everything is dead.
