Ohh, mango sounded so good!! But she didn't want to get the same thing as her new friend. That would be silly! She just needed to go with her heard, like he said.
Though, instead of her making a decision, she just realized that there was even more to decide on.
"There are toppings?! Oh noooo--now I will never be able to decide," she said, dramatic and dismayed.
"Wait!" She smiled and reached over to grab the man's wrist excitedly. "What were you going to get second? I'll just get that." Yes, that was a brilliant idea. Especially because if she didn't like it (doubtful) she'd just give it to her new friend!

"I'm fond of all things," Evangeline said, turning her head from where she was inspecting the plants to smile at Remy.
"Though, I think sweet is my favourite."
Yes, she liked sweet things. But, she liked anything that lingered. So that she tasted it for more than just that first moment. Maybe sour things would fall under that category. To be honest, she hadn't had many sour things.
"But," she said as she went back to picking, "I haven't had a lot of tart or sour things, so maybe I just need more of them to really decide."

Evangeline smiled at Howl's response.
And smiled even more when Maggie left the sink, running over to her parent. She thought it was sweet and strange all at once. Evangeline, of course, didn't have much experience with parents and children interacting, considering she didn't have any and had never had a childhood.
"I hope that's okay," Evy said, drifting in behind Maggie. She still wasn't sure the protocols to everything. But, she really liked Maggie and she really liked Howl and she didn't want to mess up. Again.

"I don't know!!" Evangeline said, her voice going a little high. But, she was also laughing a little. From anxiety or overwhelm or because it was kind of funny.
There were just too many options and she wanted to try everything! It was the same with ice cream. She never got the same thing twice. Actually, she never got the same thing twice anywhere she went. Until she fully exhausted all of the options. Which hadn't happened anywhere so far!

Evangeline frowned. She hadn't expected that kind of question from Ken. Maybe some of her friends, yeah. She had learned that many people had a sense of self-consciousness. (And, she had realized that she was not immune to it either.)
But not Ken! Ken was always confident. He had the kind of positive attitude that Evangeline loved. Maybe it was silly to think he didn't also have his moments but...she just would never expect it from him.
"What?" she said at first, still surprised, but then she laughed a little and moved closer so that she could take Ken's hand and squeeze it between both of hers. "You--you've been my friend! Don't be silly."
What other reason did there need to be?
"You have helped me plenty." And then, she hesitated. "Isn't--isn't that what friends do?"

"Ohhh," Evy said, looking at the strawberry than up at Remy again. She took this to heart. After all, she'd never been strawberry picking before and she had told Remy that, so she was taking notes. Though, now she felt bad, because she'd plucked this one before her time.
She frowned a little but then raised it to her lips and bit into it. "Still yummy, though," she declared with a smile to Remy. She turned to start rummaging through the bushes again, on the hunt for the deepest, richest strawberry.

Evangeline wasn't expecting visitors, but considering she had a pretty open door policy, random knocks weren't out of the norm! She was always happy when someone knocked unexpectedly. It meant that her day was about to get more interesting.
And she was double happy to see Cora standing on her doorstep. She, of course, loved all her friends equally! But there was something extra-special about her girlfriends. Especially when they popped out of nowhere!
Though, she barely had time to even think before she was being smothered in a hug. She laughed as she was jostled about.
"Ohmigosh!" Evy squealed as soon as the news processed. She threw her arms around Cora. "Ohmigosh!! Cora--that's amazing!!"

Evangeline had never been strawberry picking before! She loved strawberries, but it had never occurred to her that you could go and pick them yourself. To her, they just appeared in the grocery store, in those little plastic boxes. Or at the farmer's market in cute little wooden crates that you could pick up by a little metal handle and carry around.
So, she was excited for this experience. As she was for all new experiences. And, she was extra excited to be here with Remy.
She giggled at his comment. "Oh! I agree," she gushed. After all, she had not really seen much of rubies. "You can't eat rubies! They aren't sweet." She stepped gingerly as they moved to the neat rows of greenery. And peaking between--
"Look!" she bent down to pluck a small strawberry from the vine and hold it up for inspection. "What about this one?"

There were just so many options! And she had no idea what would be good. Of course, she was talking about the Lucky Cat Cafe (what a cute name!) She was, honestly, glad that she had a job that she hadn't been fired from yet. Otherwise, she might try to work here and totally ruin it!
Instead, she could just stare curiously up at the menu, eyes flicking from option to option with hungry curiosity.
