reblogging 9 months later just to say: nailed it
I sketched this lineart in October 2022. Wrote several thousand words of the fic that goes with it in December 2022/January 2023. And then took six months to realize "by the time I get around to sharing this fic, the art will be so old that I'll want to redraw it."
So I splashed a bit of color on this, and I'm posting it as-is. Maybe in another 6-12 months I'll be ready to start posting the fic, then you can all look back on this and go "Ohhhh."

Walker is a straight woman who’s old enough to be most of the cast’s grandmother, so she’s not at all in touch with the Queer Community and its trends — but she doesn’t have any special moral objection to gay stuff, either. She just never saw the point of it. To her, they’re just like everyone else: one more marketing demographic to exploit.
And, gosh, these are all such good Suit Looks. Inspired by the Reservoir Dogs walk, with a Leverage-esque slogan: “Let’s go steal a Being.”
Walker: Is that so.
Blake: She has a new haircut, too.
Walker: Then we can work with that.
Walker (thinking): I’m still not that familiar with the stages of lesbianism, so I’m going to assume this is normal.

Screencaps have a certain vibe, but I like the accessibility of just having it in plain screenreadable text as much as possible, you know? That's why I didn't make faux screencaps for the AO3 version in the first place.

Apparently there’s some people in fandom who think “deep, important, emotionally meaningful friendships between male and/or man-shaped characters” are marginalized and rare? So much that “any lobbying for more canon m/m romance” is a threat to the whole category’s existence?
Because…they’re not that rare. Or suffering from any lack of mainstream appreciation. They’re really, really not.
(At least 3 pairings in this photoset are so non-threatened by m/m couples that they, as straight best friends, got married for the legal benefits.)

So there’s an Encanto musical stage show on Disney+, basically just a bunch of people performing all the songs live, with SFX partly done on big TV screens and partly by an ensemble of dancers.
Most of the singers are dressed like the characters are in the movie, traditional Colombian outfits in bright colors with lots of embroidery.

The two moons in Leif & Thorn are "the Sisters" in Iuilic mythology. Which means any time one of them eclipses the sun, (even Little Sister, who doesn't fully block it out) it's a party!
Normally the Sisters are drawn in really formal/traditional garb. For this, I did a modern redesign and put them in cocktail dresses.
