~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Katsuki wakes up in a great mood. Yawning, he stretches his limbs. He feels a bit sore after last night's endeavors but he got a hella good orgasm out of it, so he doesn't feel like complaining. He stares at the ceiling of the tent with a big grin on his face. He's finally got a mate. And not just any mate, but y/n. In his mind, he replays some of the scenes when he had y/n bouncing on his dick drunk on pleasure last night. A warm tingle runs down his spine. Goddamit y/n looked so good beneath him.
He pats the space at his side in an attempt to find y/n but he only comes up with an empty space. He turns his head to see where his new mate is hiding only to see the other side of the bed empty. Sitting up, he furrows his brows. Where is she?, he thinks. Listening intently, he tries to locate y/n. Maybe she's taking a piss, he concludes and slowly gets up. Quickly, he pulls the discarded linen pants from yesterday over his butt and makes his way to the bathing hut. Without knocking, he enters the room.
That's where he finds y/n. She's leaning against the tub cowering on the floor. She's still butt-naked and dried blood clings to her neck and chest. Katsuki frowns. Didn't he take care of the mark? He remembers pushing a clean cloth against the wound to stop it from bleeding. For how long did she continue to bleed? Did she go in here in an attempt to dress the wound? Why didn't she wake him up?
„Hey, y/n.“, Katsuki calls out to her softly.
When y/n doesn't respond, he steps closer to her and crouches down to her level. „Y/n.“, he tries again. Carefully he touches her shoulder and tries to shake her awake. Y/n's head lolls to the side unconsciously. Katsuki can feel worry bubble up in his chest. He touches her hand. She's ice cold. Did she spend the entire night here on the floor?, he wonders worriedly.
Carefully, he picks her up and carries her back to the bed. Softly, he lays her down and pulls the warm, soft fur blankets over her. As he pulls the blanket up to her collarbone, his gaze lingers on the fresh bite mark on her neck. Again, he furrows his brows. The wound has an unnatural red-violet colour. The tissue is clearly inflamed and infected. Carefully, he reaches up to the wound. Y/n flinches at his touch. By now the wound should start to heal and it also shouldn't hurt anymore.
Absent-mindedly, Katsuki touches his own neck. Usually, mates mark each other during their first night together. He doesn't blame y/n for not returning the favor last night. He hoped they would do it again in the morning and y/n would finally make him hers. It's not uncommon for a mate to be overwhelmed with emotions both mentally and physically during the marking. Considering y/n is an outsider, he kind of already expected it.
Katsuki keeps staring at y/n's neck. He's unsure what to do. Mate marks are not treated as wounds. They're left to heal by themselves. Creams and bandages that could help the healing process also usually lessen the scarring. And mate marks are meant to scar. Having a very prominent mate mark proved having a strong mate and a strong bond. That's why he put all his force behind marking y/n last night. He wanted to prove to her that he is the best mate she could wish for.
However, right now he doubts this practice. The wound looks bad and his instinct tells him to rub alcohol on it. Katsuki chews on his lips. Maybe he should also let the healer look over this. He's never heard of a case where mate marks get infected. Eventually, Katsuki decides to clean the wound and put a bandage on it. It's against the practice of his tribe, but he puts y/n before tradition. He looked forward to showing y/n around the tribe today and letting everyone see the great mark he left on her. Somehow he doubts that y/n is going anywhere today. Clearly, she needs rest.
Katsuki stays around for a while massaging y/n's feet and legs in an attempt to warm her up. When he's sure that y/n is warming up a bit and that she won't be waking up anytime soon, Katsuki leaves her to slumber. After getting himself some breakfast and catching up with some of his men, he returns to y/n's side. He takes some fruit and bread along with him. Y/n must be hungry after everything that happened yesterday.
When Katsuki enters the tent again, he notices that y/n is still asleep. For a moment, he ponders on whether or not to let her sleep. Eventually, he decides that she can nap later. He puts the food on the nightstand and pours y/n a glass of water. Then, he sits down at y/n's side of the bed. Carefully, he leans over to her. Gently, he strokes some stray hair out of her face and caresses her cheek with his thumb.
„Y/n, wake up.“, he calls out to her softly, „I've brought you breakfast. Don't you want to get up?“
For a moment, y/n doesn't react. However, when Katsuki starts scratching her head lightly, she begins to stir. Katsuki feels oddly relieved upon seeing her gain consciousness again. Y/n stirs and twists uncomfortably in the bed sheets. She turns to her side, away from Katsuki. Katsuki watches her with worried eyes.
The world appears infront of her in a haze. Sight and sound appear distorted to her until everything slowly becomes clearer. Her whole body feels sore and there's a biting pain that shoots up her neck. It takes a moment for her to recall what had happened last night. Then, she remembers. Pleasure. Katsuki. His lips on her neck. Then, his teeth sinking into her.
Y/n bolts up at the memory, almost colliding with Katsuki's head that loomed over her. Katsuki retreats immediately when y/n sits up. Her hand flies to her neck, touching the wound he left behind. Y/n lets out a sharp hiss. It must feel as painful as it looks, he guesses.
„Y/n.“, he says carefully. Something tells him the next few moments will be important for them.
Y/n's head flies around and her eyes meet his. Her eyes widen. Then, she scrambles away from him, to the other side of the bed. She pulls the blanket with her trying to cover herself. He can see how her breathing and heartbeat pick up. This time not in pleasure, but in fear. His heart aches.
„Y/n... what's going on? What did I do?“, he asks her. He tries to sound calm and quiet. He doesn't want to scare her away. When y/n doesn't react, he tries to reach out to her, to touch her cheek softly but y/n roughly pushes his hand away.
„Go... away...“, y/n's voice sounds hoarse. The look in her eyes is blank. Katsuki doesn't understand what she says but he doubts it's a profession of love. He pushes his hand through his hair. Worry overcomes him. This is not how he thought their first day together as mates would be. „Y/n...“, he tries again and reaches out to her.
„Go away!“, y/n yells louder while using her foot to push Katsuki's hand away. Katsuki watches her for a moment. There's something behind her eyes now. Fire? No, spite. Katsuki leans back and sighs. There's a lump forming in his throat and his eyes itch. There's no use talking to her now.
He watches her for another moment, just as she is watching his every move. He guesses she watches him for very different reasons though. She looks at him like prey watches its predator, calculating when the blowing kill comes, when it's the right moment to take flight. Slowly, he gets up. He places the fruit and water next to her.
„Eat.“, he tells her. He's sure that's a word she has picked up. He turns his back to her and looks for some clothes for her to wear. When he found some, he gently places them at the edge of the back. He points at the bathing hut.
„I'll heat up some water for you. To take a bath.“, he tells her.
Then he gets up to leave her be. He sees she doesn't want him around right now. He will leave her for now in hopes that she will calm herself.
~*~*~*~
Finally, he's gone. Y/n relaxes a bit when Katsuki leaves the tent. Her eyes wander to the water Katsuki put in her reach. Greedily, she grabs the cup and chugs down the cool liquid. By now, her head is pounding as is the wound on her neck. She wishes she had a mirror to see how bad it really is.
Y/n leans against the headboard and replays what happened yesterday night in her mind. Everything was fine, more than fine, until Katsuki sunk his teeth into her.
„Gods...“, y/n groans and rubs her face. What on earth was Katsuki thinking? Who does this kind of thing? What is wrong with these people?
She remembers how Katsuki eventually let go of her. There are very vague images of him tucking her in and snuggling into her afterward. Clearly, he did not see anything wrong with what he did. She remembers lying awake for some time. She can't even remember how long she must've laid there. Time was a construct that didn't exist at that very moment. She waited until Katsuki was deep asleep until she slipped out of bed and stumbled into the bathing hut.
She felt like throwing up. She felt the wet blood on her neck and chest. His spill clinging onto the inside of her thighs. She tried washing both of it away but the water was ice cold and her hands were going numb. She remembers sliding down at the side of the tub. Crying. Panicking. Wishing she'd be dead instead of here.
Y/n shivers at the memory. She doesn't want to be dead. Things must've been really bad when those were the thoughts that crossed her mind. She touches the inside of her thighs. His dried spent still clings to her skin. Suddenly, she feels disgusted. Not of herself, but of him. How could he not understand when she told him to stop? No matter the language, when someone screams at the top of their lungs in fear, one must notice it. Was he so drunk on pleasure? She wouldn't put it past him.
Slowly, she tries to get up. Her legs feel wobbly and for a moment she's afraid that they won't hold her weight. Carefully, she stumbles into the bathing hut. The hut is warmer than it was last night. She notices how hot water drips through a pipe into the bathtub. She stumbles closer and lets her hand touch the warm water. After using the chamber pot, she steps into the hot water. She hisses as she sits down. For now, she refrains from using the nice soaps and oils that are placed next to the tub. She doubts it will be good for the wound on her neck. In careful movements, she washes away the grime, blood, and semen from her body. Lastly, she tries to clean the wound. It burns as she dabs a clean cloth against it. Eventually, the pain gets so bad that she gives up cleaning the wound.
After giving her hair a good wash, she steps out of the tub and dries herself off. She puts on the clean clothes Katsuki left behind for her. After looking for some rubbing alcohol and fresh bandages to no avail, she gives up and settles on the bed again. She presses a clean cloth dipped in cool water against the wound on her neck and tries to figure out what to do next.
Somehow she doubts that Katsuki tried to kill her last night. Firstly, if he wanted to kill her, he would've been successful. Y/n cannot take on Katsuki in a fight. Secondly, she doubts that what happened last night happened due to Katsuki's ill intent towards her. Absolutely nothing that happened beforehand, or afterwards for that matter, hints towards Katsuki being cross with her. She saw the worry and hurt in his eyes when she woke up. Which makes what happened yesterday a bigger mystery to her.
Why on earth would you hurt someone so badly while being intimate with them? Katsuki was so soft and loving with her. The way he touched her, the way he made her feel... Y/n quickly shakes her head at that thought. She doesn't want to remember how good he made her feel. Right now she wants to be angry with him. For hurting her like this, for not listening to her. Or at least not noticing her.
She wants to blame him, she really does. But ultimately, everything leads back to her poor decisions. She was angry with him yesterday, for deciding things over her head. And instead of being cautious of him, she jumps into bed with him. Should she really be surprised at how this turned out?
She sighs and dips the cloth into the cool water again. Pressing it against her neck, she slides under the covers again. She pulls them over her head and hopes they would swallow her whole. Take her back to her mother's bed where she hid under the covers when a storm raged outside their tent.
Maybe for a while, she could pretend to be there instead of the place she chose to be in right now.
~*~*~*~
Katsuki is not sure what to do next.
After he poured y/n a hot bath, he's standing outside his tent lost in thought. He tries to come up with something he could do for y/n, to make her feel better. He hasn't got much time to dwell on this question. Soon, his men spot him and drag him back to the war tent where he's forced to listen to a bunch of questions and make a bunch of decisions concerning their tribe. He postpones all raids until the near future. He decides that treating their men and strengthening their numbers is a priority right now. He sends small hunting parties into the mountains and adjacent forests to gather food.
When he's worked through most of his men's concerns, he slumps down onto a seat. He massages his temple. He can already feel a headache starting to form.
„Yo, Bakugo, my man. You ok?“, Kirishima asks him uncertainly.
Katsuki didn't notice that his best friend was still in the room.
„Yeah, I'm fine.“, he grumbles and gets up. Kirishima gives him a look that says I-am-not-so-sure-about-that. Katsuki ignores him and steers towards the exit. He doesn't want to talk to Kirishima right now. Unlucky for him, his friend looks right through him and gets a hold of his arm.
„You know, it's not good for the tribe when his leader is somewhere else with his thoughts whilst making important decisions.“, Kirishima condemns him.
„I'm not somewhere else with my thoughts!“, Katsuki snaps at him and pulls his arms free. Kirishima is quick to block the exit of the tent.
„I get it, dude. There are a lot of heavy decisions to make. If you ask me, so far you're doing good. Some men might not like you restricting our tribe's activity outside our territory, but it's the right thing to do right now.“, Kirishima tries to encourage him.
Katsuki groans and turns away from his friend. He does not want to talk more politics with him.
„Or is this about something else?“, his friend says uncertainly.
Damn this Kirishima, why is he so quick about catching onto things?, Katsuki thinks. When Katsuki doesn't answer him, Kirishima is quick to press on about it.
„Is this about y/n?“, his friend asks. Katsuki rolls his eyes and grabs a cup. He doesn't even know what's in it, but he quickly chugs the liquid down.
„Because we heard you last night. Well done, dude!“, Kirishima grins and pats his arm. Katsuki is quick to push his hand off of him.
„Shut up, Kirishima!“, he barks at him and the red-haired man looks at him stunned.
„So... it's not good then?“, Kirishima guesses.
Katsuki doesn't look at his subordinate. He is weighing his options here. He could tell him and ask for advice. Kirishima seems to be better with the ladies than he is. Even though things between him and his mate aren't ideal either. Then again, Kirishima is a giant blabber mouth and telling him could mean telling the entire tribe. That's the last thing he needs. He takes a deep breath.
„No, it's not good.“, he tells him. Kirishima is quiet for a moment before carefully asking: „Why that? She didn't like it?“
Katsuki scoffs.
„I don't know. I thought she liked it. Until this morning. She looked... disturbed.“, he says getting more quiet at the end of his sentence.
„Why that? Did your enormous dick scare the shit out of her?“, Kirishima grins and Katsuki is quick to hit his friend's arm with his fist.
„It's not funny, Kirishima! This is serious!“, he barks at him. His friend gets quiet and a concerned look on his face.
„Walk me through it. What happened?“, Kirishima asks more solemnly. Katsuki scratches the back of his head.
„Dunno... Yesterday was fine. We enjoyed our time together. I marked her, tucked her in and we went to sleep. This morning, I found her in the bathing hut, all cold 'n shit. The wound on her neck looks fucking bad, dude.“, he tries to explain. He can see how his friend has trouble keeping up with his explanation.
„Alright...“, Kirishima says and ponders about it for a moment, „How bad looks the mark?“
„Inflamed, infected.“, Katsuki tells him.
„My mate's mark also took some time to heal. A lot longer than a mate mark usually takes to heal. Maybe it's because they're outsiders. If it's really bad, let a healer take a look at it.“, Kirishima tells him.
Katsuki snorts. He doesn't want another person to look at y/n's mark. Well he does, but he wants others to look at it in awe. He doesn't want others to know that it's not going the way it's supposed to go.
„Hey“, Kirishima puts a hand on his shoulder, „If it's really infected, this is not something to be taken lightly. An infected wound can be dangerous. Do you really want to put y/n's health on the line just because it would make you look bad?“
Immediately, Katsuki feels bad. He remembers the promise he gave to Drami. He wants to be a good mate and he definitely doesn't want y/n to suffer. He wants her to be happy and healthy. Pushing off his friend's hand, he agrees with him Kirishima flashes him a toothy grin.
„See, she'll be fine. Her mark will heal and things will be alright!“, he tries to cheer up his grumpy friend. Katsuki's facial expression still looks worried. After a moment Katsuki carefully asks him:
„How did she look at you? The day after I mean?“
Kirishima is taken aback at this question. They rarely talk about his mate. It's a touchy subject Katsuki usually knows to avoid. Kirishima sighs and sits down next to his friend.
„I mean... things were different for us. She was chosen for me and... I don't know, I did what had to be done. I don't have to tell you that she didn't exactly... want it.“, Kirishima waves his hand infront of his body.
„All of this. Me. Truth is, she probably despised me the day after. Maybe she still does, I don't know.“, Kirishima's shoulders slump down.
„I do my best. I want to be a good mate to her. But it's hard when the other person doesn't want to be with you.“, Kirishima becomes more quiet at the end.
Katsuki remains silent as well. He doesn't know what to tell his friend. After all, he was the one who chose the woman for his friend. He's the reason why Kirishima is feeling miserable with his mateship.
„But hey,“ Kirishima claps his friend's back, „I'm sure it's different for you two! I've seen the way y/n looks at you! She's smitten with you!“
Katsuki stays silent for a while.
„What if she isn't? She barely could look at me today. And not in the I-am-shy-because-we-just-did-it kind of way. More like she was scared of me. Maybe even resentful.“, he confesses to his friend.
Now it's Kirishima who doesn't know what to say for a moment.
„Are you sure? I mean did you give her any reason to be scared or angry with you?“, Kirishima asks carefully. He knows how explosive and rude his friend can be. Katsuki scoffs.
„I've told you what happened. Everything was fine last night and today she wakes up being all shitty towards me!“, Katsuki barks back. Kirishima takes no offense to his friend's tone. He can see the worry on Katsuki's face. He's sure his friend is just hurting.
„Maybe it's because of the wound. Pain can twist someone's mood. Maybe she blames you for her pain.“, Kirishima says carefully.
„Why would she?!“, Katsuki exclaims. Kirishima looks at his friend for a long while. Is he really this oblivious?
„Because you're the one that hurt her?“, he tells his leader carefully. This shuts Katsuki up for a moment.
„I didn't mean to hurt her“, Katsuki says quietly. Kirishima can see regret forming in his friend's face.
„I just wanted to give her the best mate mark I could give. Something she could be proud of.“, he mumbles under his breath. Kirishima catches onto it. He pats his friend's back understandingly.
„You sure that she got that? She's an outsider, remember.“, Kirishima tells him compassionately. Katsuki's ears perk up.
„Do you think that she thinks I hurt her on purpose?“, Katsuki says and Kirishima shrugs.
„I don't know much about outsider's mating traditions, so I wouldn't take my word for it.“, Kirishima replies.
Kirishima pushes himself up again and he pats his leader's shoulder. „Let's go to the healer's tent. We've got to check up on our injured men anyways and you can ask a healer to take a look at y/n.“, he tells his friend. Katsuki nods and gets up as well.
Internally, he's already making plans on how to make up with y/n. He can't have his mate running around thinking he wants to hurt her.
~*~*~*~
Katsuki returns to their tent after y/n has woken up from her nap. She's just changed the cloth one more time when Katsuki, Kirishima and an older man enter the tent. Immediately, y/n is on high alert. What on earth is Katsuki planning this time? Her eyes immediately dart around the room looking for a suitable weapon. Luckily, there are many to choose from Katsuki's collection. She manages to grab a silver dagger and hides it behind her back, pressing herself against the headboard of the bed.
Katsuki enters the tent first lying eyes upon y/n who presses herself against the back of his bed. There's a wild look in her eyes. He's not sure whether it's fear or anger. Or maybe both. He gestures for the two men to wait by the entrance. Kirishima entangles the healer in a conversation to give Katsuki some kind of privacy.
Katsuki walks closer to y/n and sits down at the edge of the bed. Y/n holds his gaze. She definitely looks angry, Katsuki determines. He moves his hand towards her neck but y/n catches his arm, holding his wrist in a strong grip. Her eyes flicker towards the other two men. She's contemplating threatening Katsuki with the hidden dagger.
„Y/n.“
Her gaze flickers back to Katsuki who is still looking into her eyes. He says something and points towards the wound on her neck. With his other hand, he carefully pulls away the cloth that covers the wound. Upon seeing the wound, his expression sours. At least he feels bad seeing his work, y/n thinks.
Katsuki turns around and says something to the men waiting on the other side of the room. He moves away and y/n relaxes a bit. Katsuki steps away and makes room for the older man he brought along. The man puts down a basket and asks y/n something. Katsuki answers for her. The man keeps his eye locked on the wound on her neck. He doesn't move to touch her. Katsuki tells the man something and the man starts taking out medical supplies out of the basket.
Y/n sees fresh bandages, cloths, a salve and a small bottle with a translucent liquid in it. It's probably alcohol, she thinks. Did Katsuki really bring someone here to treat the very wound he created? She moves away when the healer tries to touch her neck. She doesn't want anybody touching the wound. She notices how Katsuki gets angry at her being unwilling to let this stranger treat her wound. This, in return, makes her angry. She trusted him to touch her and where has this gotten her? Why should she let a stranger touch her? When the man moves to touch her again, she finally pulls the hidden dagger from its hiding place and holds it to the man's neck.
„Don't fucking touch me!“, she hisses at the man. She almost pities the man and his shocked expression. Clearly, the man was here to treat her wounds and not to hurt her further. He means no harm and it's probably unfair that she holds a dagger to his pulse point right now. She's not sure why she does it. Clearly, her wound needs treatment.
„Y/n!“, Katsuki's voice booms through the tent. He's fuming. How can she humiliate him infront of their head healer? Kirishima snickers behind him.
„It's not funny, Kirishima.“, he barks at his friend.
„Wel... it's a little bit funny. Seems like your mate is as thickheaded as you when it comes to getting their wounds treated.“, Kirishima points out.
Meanwhile, the healer doesn't dare to move a muscle. Y/n looks as if she's serious about ramming that dagger in his neck. Kirishima pushes past Katsuki. Carefully, he puts his hand on y/n's and pushes her hand down.
„Now, now, y/n, let's keep this civil.“, he tells her. The healer sighs in relief when y/n lowers her hand.
„I don't want strange men touching me!“, y/n yells even though she knows none of the men will understand her.
Kirishima looks at her with pity and y/n can feel her face become red with shame. She must look like a cornered animal and it makes her sick. Kirishima gestures for Katsuki to follow them outside. The three men leave the tent again. The medical supplies stay on the bed with y/n.
Y/n can feel hot tears burning behind her eyes but she refuses to let them flow. She must already look pitiful enough. Instead, she reaches for the medical supplies. She pours the rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth. She moves to put it on the wound and hisses when the harsh liquid comes in contact with the inflamed tissue. The pain is blinding. She forces herself to keep her hand in place. The wound must be cleaned. It's probably already too late and an infection is forming, but still. Finally, she can feel tears streaming down her face. The pain is just too much. She pants in paint and starts rocking back and forth in an attempt to distract her from the pain.
Y/n doesn't notice how Katsuki enters the tent again or how he watches her attempting to clean the wound. She also doesn't notice how Katsuki's face contorts in pain as well. Not physical pain, but emotional pain upon seeing his mate so miserable. He hates seeing her like this. It's even worse knowing that he caused this.
Katsuki moves towards her and sits on the bed again. Y/n is so blinded by her pain that she doesn't notice how close Katsuki is. Only when Katsuki touches her wrist, does she jolts back in surprise. Upon seeing Katsuki, she tries to move away from him but Katsuki keeps her locked in place. Her chest rises heavily upon being so close to him again.
„Y/n“, Katsuki says softly, „Just let me take care of you.“
Y/n stares at him in bewilderment but doesn't move away anymore. Katsuki lets go of her wrist and takes the cleaning cloth from her. He pours more alcohol on it and moves towards her neck. Y/n flinches away.
„I know it hurts, love, but we gotta clean it.“, he mumbles and moves towards her neck again.
Y/n's hand flies towards his other hand. She grips it tightly. Her nails dig into the back of his hand. She looks at him pleadingly. Katsuki just shakes his head. In a swift movement, he puts the alcohol-drenched cloth onto the wound again and y/n lets out a howl in pain. She curls forward and Katsuki pulls her against his shoulder. Katsuki dabs the cloth onto the wound cleaning it properly. He can hear y/n cry and convulse in pain and his heart feels heavy. He never meant to hurt her, he just wanted to fulfill his promise and be a good mate.
When he's done cleaning the wound he applies the salve the healer brought along and wraps a clean bandage around her neck. Y/n doesn't make any attempt to push him away or murder him with his own dagger. He places her head back on the pillow when he's done. Y/n looks exhausted and pale. Katsuki touches her forehead. He imagines that she's slightly warm.
He brings y/n another cup of water and forces her to drink it. Y/n only drinks half of it before moving away. Katsuki puts the cup away and keeps looking at her. He doesn't know what to say or to do. It's unlike him. He's the leader. He always knows what to say. But when it comes to y/n everything is so much more complicated. It's like she claws away the surface and lays open the deepest parts of him. Parts he refuses to acknowledge exist. It's unfit for the leader of the dragon blood tribe to be this vulnerable.
„Y/n“, he calls out to her softly. Y/n doesn't meet his eyes. Carefully, he touches her cheek. She doesn't resist this time. She only looks at him with soft, sad eyes. He can see tears shimmering behind them.
„Shit“, he mumbles, „I really screwed up, didn't I?“
He moves his hand from her cheek to her hair and strokes it lightly. Tears spill over and Katsuki doesn't bother wiping hers away. Who is he to console her now? Y/n says something to him. He doesn't need to understand it. Whether it's a question or an accusation, it probably holds the same meaning. You did this to me.
„I only wanted you to be proud to have me as your mate, I swear.“, he mumbles as he keeps stroking her hair. Y/n ferociously wipes her tears away. For a moment, Katsuki wonders what she would do if he pulled her close right now. The next moment, he doesn't care what she would do. May you stab me with that dagger, I don't care.
Katsuki moves to lie down next to her. He's lying on the edge of the bed. He pulls her close burying his nose in her hair. Gently, he keeps stroking her hair and arms. Y/n makes no attempt to move away. Eventually, she turns around and stares into his eyes as if she's looking for something. Katsuki doesn't know what to give her. He keeps holding her until she falls asleep again.

You get information from Kai.

“So what’s the situation again?” The guard asked you.
“My agency seems to think Overhaul may have some information we need,” you answered.
“Got it, I’ll look the other way and be down the hall. Do whatever you need to do to get your information. Mother fucker doesn’t have arms anymore so- if ya leave him bruised up, I’ll just say he took a tumble or something,” the guard laughed, tossing you the cell keys and walking back down the hall.
You unlocked the cell door and entered to the sad sight of Kai sitting in a chair staring at the floor. No stimulation was provided by the blank cell walls, and the room was stale with thick air. Enough to drive anyone mad. You almost pitied him.
“Hm,” he hummed looking up at you. “Never expected to see you again hero,” he remarked.
“Guess it’s your lucky day isn’t it,” you said with a wink.
Kai watched as you sultry stalked over to him, sitting on his lap tossing your legs across his.
Eyes dilating, he looked up at you, “You’re still a tease.” He observed.
“A tease? Well that all depends on you, doesn’t it?” You said, seductively running your hands through his hair messaging his scalp.
It was almost pathetic how instantly he reacted to your touch. Body almost purring for you. “Mm it’s got to be hard in here, having no arms, no way to get yourself off,” you cooed down at him.
Kai tried to muster up a growl, but no bite came with it. His body had long been touched starved, his toes already curling with the weight of you in his lap.
“I just want to know some information, if you’re a good boy and tell me maybe I’ll reward you,” you explained.
“Exchanging sex for information? That doesn’t sound heroic, but you heroes always have your own agenda, don’t you?”
“Careful, don’t test me. I’ll sit on that depressed face of yours till you’re suffocated. How would you get me off hmm?” You laughed.
Kai’s eyes widened at your words. How were your words always so vulgar and striking? He was drooling at the thought of being suffocated between your thighs.
The embarrassment he’d been reduced to of rubbing up against his cell mattress left him desperate for any hole, but you- You were the hot new sexy hero everyone had been obsessed with. Having you here in his lap after being trapped in the solitude of his cell was having his dick throbbing and begging, pre-cum already leaking.
“So, what’s it going to be then? Going to tell me what I want? Or do you need to be convinced first?” You asked.
“Why don’t you tell me what you want to know first, and I’ll let you know if I can help you,” he spoke.
“I just need to know if it’s true you still have some of your quirk-destroying drug hidden somewhere,” you explained.
“No, all that was taken by the police long ago.” He lied.
Your hands pulled at his orange uniformed pants, allowing for his aching dick to be set free. Plopping out and smacking against his abdomen. You smirked, “You sure about that little devil?”
Kai’s eyes watched pathetically, secretly screaming for you to stimulate him. Slender fingers wrapped around his shaft, gently squeezing.
The saddest moan you’ve ever heard escaped his lips. “Awe, you’re so pent up. Please tell me so I can take care of you,” you cooed at him, one hand gently squeezing his dick, the other caressing his cheek.
“You’re playing with me,” he said through gritted teeth trying desperately to compose himself.
You bent forward whispering in his ear “Don’t you want to be my toy?”
Another moan, hips rutting into your hand, pre cum slicking the length of this shaft.
“Fuck-,” he breathed out. How embarrassing to be such a mess at your few touches and seductive words. His pride tossed aside, sense of the strong villain he once was shattered. Lust and desperation taking hold. Just fuck him.
Hips thrusting more, he fucked himself into your hand. Your grip tightening. Tits slightly jiggling at his rough movements that bounced you both in the chair.
“So sad to see you so neglected, you want me to finish you, right?” You mewled. “I’d hate to have to stop.”
Kai moaned, lust clouding his brain. Completely forgetting why you had come. Instead, he continued to chase his high. The pleasure was immense and addicting. The dull prison cell melting away into bliss threatening to explode.
Until- you removed your hand. His dick left throbbing and leaking, balls aching.
His eyes snapped to you, desperate for the continued stimulation. Panting, and face flushed, it was a shameful sight.
“If you tell me what I want to know, we can continue,” you reasoned with him, placing a kiss to his bright red cheek.
Kai panted, allowing the reality of the situation to come back to him. “I told you; I don’t have any left.”
“Hmm, well I’d hate for our journey to end here,” you replied, stepping off his lap.
Kai’s eye begged for you to come back. Throwing his head back in frustration he groaned.
“Although I guess it’s unfair to leave you exposed on your own,” you cooed, sliding yourself out of the bottoms of your hero costume.
Kai’s mouth dropped open but only a few whimpers left his lips. God how long had it been since he’d seen a woman. Devoid of any media use, the only thing he had was memories. But now- you stood in front of him. Pretty pussy on display for him. He stared, committing the sight to memory for days to come.
“Come on, be a good boy, and let me reward you,” you sang. Sitting back in his lap. Pressing your heat against his aching dick. Letting out your own moan at his head rubbing against your clit.
Another whimper came from Kai as he watched taking in the sight of you rubbing against him.
“Please~” you urged him. “I want to feel good too, tell me so I can take you inside.”
“F-fuck,” he mewled out. “Check the abandoned restaurant at Omoide Yokocho,” he blurted out. Blind with lust. The fuck did he care anymore, just suck him in. Let him feel your gummy walls.
You placed a teasing finger under his chin forcing him to look you in the eye. “Good boy,” you cooed.
A moment of fear ran through him at the thought of you not keeping your word. Leaving him dick out, leaking and twitching.
But you didn’t- you pushed up and lined your entrance with his head. Forcing him to look you in the eyes as you took him in. Sinking slowly, he pushed through your entrance, slick walls squeezing his dick from the tip to the base.
The feel was euphoric, mind-numbing, leaving him crying out in a pleasureful moan. Hot sticky white ropes lined your walls. His pent-up lust leaving him cumming and twitching inside you all too soon.
“Pathetic,” you mocked him. “I didn’t even move.”
Kai bit his lip, squeezing his eyes shut trying to block out your taunts. He knew just exactly how pathetic it was. He didn’t need you to tell him.
“Oh well,” you said standing up. His dick sliding out, cum leaking to his thighs. “Who knows, maybe I’ll need more information from you soon.”
Kai panted, daring to look at you again only to see your exposed pussy once more. The way his cum leaked out of you was sinful. He watched as you clothed yourself feeling his dick twitched again.
“Oh yeah,” you mused as you secured your costume back on. “I can’t have the guard too suspicious so-,” stars hit his eyes as a hard fist came across his nose. The crunch echoing in the cell. Blood dripping down his face.
“If the guard asks- I broke your nose and you told me everything I needed.” You said, kissing his cheek, and pulling his pants back over his dick. “Wouldn’t want you to tell our secret and spoil any future times together.” You winked and slinked out of the room.
“Alright, I got what I needed,” you told the guard, passing him back the cell keys.
“That was fast,” he remarked.
“Oh, I know,” you giggled.
“How much of a mess do I have to clean up?” He asked.
“Why don’t you go see for yourself,” you winked, making an exit for the facility.
The guard entered the room, to see Kai’s newly broken nose. His pants stained with blood and cum.
The guard processed the sight for a few moments before erupting in laughter. “Man, you’re so pent up you came when she broke your nose?!”
Kai eyed the guard with disdain. If only he knew. Yet, at the cost of his pride he lied to keep any slim chance alive that maybe- you would need more information one day.
“Yeah…” Kai answered shamelessly.

TITLE: do you still think about me?
PAIRING: Bakugou Katsuki x Reader
SUMMARY: Okay, so you had the biggest, most embarrassing crush on Bakugou when you were both in high school. He was kind of your first love, if you believe in those kinds of things. But you got over it. It's fine.
You see Bakugou sometimes at hangouts, at get-togethers. He's in your orbit, or you're in his, because of your mutual friends. You're all adults now, so it's fine. It's a little weird, but fine.
You're supposed to be on vacation, at a place that's hours away from Musutafu. You're not sure what you've done to deserve it, but Bakugou's here too. And instead of both of you pretending the other doesn't exist, as usual, he's talking to you. He's everywhere. It's fine.
(It's not fine.)
TAGS: pro hero Bakugou Katsuki, aged-up characters, friends to lovers (being generous with that friends label lol), fluff, pining, eventual smut

The ryokan’s lobby is bustling, voices a soft buzz echoing through the space. Some guests are like you, waiting for check-in, and other guests are partaking in the complimentary drinks and snack bar. It all calls to mind vacations you went on with your family, growing up.
Sighing, you sink into an armchair, letting the fatigue from a long trip on a train and subsequent car ride sink in, shed off.
“Here,” Rie says, setting a cup of tea and a cookie on the table in front of you. She sits in the chair across from you. “You’re grumpy because you haven’t had any sugar today. Eat these. There’s more up front, at the snack bar.”
“Thanks mom,” you say, and she leans forward to flick you on the forehead. You wince.
“Just because we’re friends doesn’t mean you can get away with your sass. Especially while we’re on vacation,” she tells you, then lifts her own cup of tea to her lips. You scrunch your face up at her.
Her eyes flick past you, and she blinks rapidly. You recognize that expression—up to no good.
“Oh hey,” she says, affecting a casual tone. “Look who just walked in.”
Rie waits for you to look, but you’re not so easily led around. You narrow your eyes at her. She raises a brow at you. A moment passes.
Your curiosity’s too strong. You turn and regret it.
It’s Bakugou. Bakugou Katsuki. What the hell is he doing here?
You immediately swing back around, scowling deeply. You can feel your ears getting warm.
She gives you a Cheshire grin, finger gunning you. “It’s your first love.”
“Rie, I will leave.”
She scoffs. “Yeah, right. And miss out on the massages we booked? The onsen? I don’t think so.”
“You don’t know what I’m capable of,” you say darkly.
She snickers, tilts her head at you. “You don’t want to say hi?”
“Not really, no,” you say. “And if you call him over, I’ll kill you. Hanta will be sad, but he’ll get over it.”
Rie laughs. “I don’t know about that. He is dating me, after all.”
“I’ve known him longer. He’ll forgive me.”
The two of you switch over your attention to an approaching receptionist.
“Thank you so much for waiting,” he says. “Your room is ready now. Please follow our staff. We’ll take care of your bags.”
You let them take your luggage, too distracted by staying out of Bakugou’s line of sight to pay attention to the small talk the receptionist’s making. Thankfully Rie’s chatting cheerfully with him, leaving you to your task.
As you enter a hallway leading off the lobby area, you catch a last glimpse of Bakugou. He’s speaking to a staff member at the front desk area, presumably checking in. He’s alone. You wonder if anyone will be joining him, or if he’s here by himself.
Shaking your head, you push away those thoughts. It’s none of your business. This ryokan’s rather large, and it’s popular with tourists and locals alike. You doubt you’ll see him again during your stay.
You stare doubtfully at the email Sero forwarded you, then look up at him, your eyebrows furrowed.
“Hanta, this is a luxury onsen ryokan. And you want me to go with Rie? Why aren’t you going?”
Sero claps his hands together in front of his face. “Please? The agency denied my time off request because we’re so busy. You gotta know how busy we are, even holed up in your office.”
You frown at him. “The agency denied you? That’s crazy. You haven’t taken time off the whole year.”
“I know, right? Anyway, Rie doesn’t want to go alone, and the reservation at this place is only valid for so long. Cancelling’s not an option.”
You frown. “If they denied you, they’ll probably deny me too, Hanta.”
“Noooo, it doesn’t hurt to put in the request! Plus, you haven’t gone on vacation in years. Treat yourself! This can be my months-in-advance birthday gift to you.”
You try one last time. “Are you sure Rie even wants to go with me? I know you want this to be a surprise, but maybe you should ask her if there’s anyone else she’d want to go on a trip with.”
Sero gives you a look, as if you’d just said something unbelievably stupid. “I’m not even going to respond to that.”
You snort, smiling. “Alright, alright. Thanks, Hanta. I’ll take all the pictures of Rie and send them to you if the agency does grant me the time off.”
Sero slings an arm around your shoulders. “Thanks, bud.”
“I miss Hanta,” Rie says, collapsing on her back onto the bed.
You push both of your bags to the side, to be unpacked later. The entire far wall of your room’s lounge area is glass, with a door leading out to the outdoor area and open-air bath, and you give in to your urge to step outside onto the wood, deck-like floor.
The bath rises from the floor to your right, rectangular, spacious. The staff member told the both of you it’s fed from the onsen, and the steam it’s giving off dissipates into the cool spring air. The bath and deck are built to overlook a large pond with koi swimming in it, giving the impression that where the deck ends the water begins. The far side of the pond is lined with trees and shrubbery. Wooden partitions on either side of this area enclose the space, giving it a sense of privacy.
It’s absolutely gorgeous. And it’s so quiet here. Aside from the ambient water sounds from the onsen on the property, birdsong from the nearby forested area, there’s little to interrupt this emerging feeling of serenity.
“You saw him literally before we left,” you say. “Rie, come out here and look at this view. I call dibs on using the bath first.”
“You could be more sympathetic. We haven’t been able to see each other much this month,” she grumbles, but she comes out to join you anyway.
“Okay, you can use the bath first,” you tell her.
She grins at you, bumping her shoulder against yours. “Thanks, friend.”
“The things I do.” You don’t really mind. You have the entire long weekend to enjoy this place. The peace and quiet are already doing wonders for the tension in your shoulders.
A twinge of guilt passes you in a wave. After the staff member who’d escorted you to your room had given you both a short tour of the space, it really hit you how expensive this all was.
“Rie, you really should’ve come here with Hanta,” you tell her, frowning. “He should’ve pushed for the time off or adjusted the reservation. This is way too nice of an experience to pass up.”
Rie snorts.
“Don’t stress,” she says. “You think he didn’t try all that? It was either keep the reservation with someone else or lose out on a lot of money. I wanted you to come, so don’t overthink, silly.”
You lean your arm against hers. “Thanks, Rie. I’ll get you and Hanta something nice for your birthdays.”
She hums, and the two of you lapse into silence, appreciating the birdsong, the late afternoon sun gilding the pond, the surrounding trees in warmth.
“So, what’s up with you and Bakugou?” Rie asks. “I thought you worked out all those feelings for him back in high school.”
And there goes all that peace. You groan, turning and heading back inside, grabbing your bag and starting to unpack your clothes. Rie follows you, sprawling out onto your bed this time to be as annoying as possible.
“I did,” you say, because not answering would result in incessant pestering. Better to nip this conversation in the bud so it doesn’t come back up again while you’re on this trip. You tell her, “We’re cool. You know that. You go to the same get-togethers.”
Since graduating from UA, you’d kept in touch with Sero, who you’d met because he’d been the hero you’d been assigned to for the management course’s third year project. You became good friends, as Sero’s one of those good boys, best boys, genuinely kind and fun to talk to.
Through your friendship with him, you’d met some of his friends—Kaminari, Kirishima. Mina, Sato. Bakugou.
While you’d befriended the others pretty easily, Bakugou was a different story. And it wasn’t necessarily his fault. He’d chilled out considerably by your third year.
It was because of your cringey, super obvious crush on him during your first year.
You were so painfully obvious about it, everyone in your class knew. It didn’t take long for kids in the other courses to take notice. When Bakugou entered a room you were in, you would freeze and forget what you were saying. You’d sneak glances at him, and your entire body would warm up if your eyes met. Even thinking about it now, as an adult, makes you want to die a little.
Thankfully, whether it was because he chose to willfully ignore you or because he just never found out, your crush ran its course. It helped a lot that you began interacting with Bakugou within social circles because of Sero; it humanized him, made him real to you. The fantasy of a crush can’t survive knowing someone, getting to know them, you found.
Still, probably because of that history, you never got close to Bakugou, while at UA and after. You were too embarrassed, and now you’re just not super interested. If you don’t count this past year, since graduation, you’ve seen him only a handful of times, always in passing and never one-on-one.
But if you do count this year, specifically the past six months, you’ve seen him a lot.
At a get-together at Mina’s place. At Todoroki Shouto’s birthday a couple months back. At a dinner with Rie, Sero, Kirishima, and Mina a few weeks ago. You figure he’s had some free time open up, to accept the hangout invites that he once left unresponded to in the group chat. It’d make sense, since he’s at this ryokan when everyone knows he’s a workaholic.
You’re happy for him. Work-life balance is super important. And you guys aren’t getting any younger.
“No, you guys are weird together,” Rie says.
You throw a pillow at her. To your annoyance, she catches it easily.
“What do you mean by weird?” you ask.
“I don’t know. It’s hard to describe. He always looks like he’s bitten into a lemon when he sees you.”
You roll your eyes. “Great. Can we stop talking about Bakugou now?”
“Last question, I swear.”
“Last question for the entire trip about him,” you say, narrowing your eyes at her.
She sighs, as if this is a huge burden on her. “Deal. I was just thinking—what did you even see in him when we were teenagers?”
“Okay, but why are you thinking about this at all,” you say.
“Just answer the question.”
“It’s not that deep,” you say, shrugging. “I liked his face.”
“Really?” Rie’s expression, disgruntled and appalled, makes you laugh.
“Don’t act like he’s not objectively really attractive. He’s handsome, be real.”
“Maybe to some people,” she relents. “But his personality cancels it out, carry the two.”
“He’s mellowed out so much over the years,” you say. You feel a little odd, finding yourself defending him. “He’s sweet, when he wants to be. Remember how he got Mina that bracelet she wanted so badly, for her birthday? Or how he picked up those special oranges for Hanta when he went on that one mission?”
Rie looks at you for a long moment. As your words settle into the silence, you begin to feel self-conscious. But it’s not like what you’d said isn’t true. Rie knows this.
Just as you open your mouth to no doubt incriminate yourself further, she leans back on the bed and closes her eyes. “I guess you’re right. You done folding those clothes? I’m hungry. Let’s get dinner. Hanta says it’s kaiseki.”
Dinner is absolutely delicious. Your server tells you and Rie that the chef’s designed the menu to feature ingredients native to the region, ingredients in season. Everything’s fresh, and even dishes you aren’t normally particularly fond of have you cleaning your plate. You feel spoiled.
You take lots of pictures. Of the dishes, of Rie. You send them to Sero.
Hanta: The food looks great! My girl looks even better!!! Send more pics pls
Rie’s pleased when you show her the messages. After fussing over her appearance, she makes you take a picture of her in your room’s outdoor bath, hair elegantly twisted up and off her shoulders, the ambient lighting softly illuminating her face.
“I’m going to take a walk, see what that little bamboo garden looks like at night,” you tell her. She waves at you with one hand, tapping away at her phone, no doubt sending messages to Sero.
“Don’t drop your phone in the water,” you say, and she makes an impatient sound, shooing you.
Smiling, you leave her to it.
Now that it’s nighttime, the ryokan is quieter, more subdued. It’s easy enough to find the bamboo garden. The paths are brightly illuminated, the walkways clear and easy to take. Maybe because it’s the evening, but you encounter few people. Most are partaking in the onsen, unwinding after a long day, you guess. You plan to do so yourself, but you stumble across a dimly lit sitting area overlooking a small pond and waterfall. It’s pretty, and you can’t resist lingering. Taking a seat on a bench, you let your mind empty as you watch the glimmer of moonlight on the water.
“Hey,” a voice says behind you, and you startle, turning.
Bakugou’s standing there, looking uncharacteristically soft and undone in the onsen’s yukata. His hair is a little damp, spikes fallen.
Seeing him in traditional wear takes you aback; you’ve only ever seen him in casual clothes—jeans, shirts, sweats. His hero suit, all sleek lines. The yukata’s a good look on him.
“Oh hey, Bakugou,” you say, then hesitate, feeling awkward. What to say? Should you pretend this is the first you’ve seen of him here?
While you flounder a little, Bakugou walks over to sit in a chair nearby, facing the water. You’re bewildered at this turn of events. You’re surprised he stopped to say hello, let alone sit and have a conversation with you.
“Saw you and Soy Sauce Face’s girlfriend at dinner,” he says. “You on vacation?”
Blinking, relieved, you reply, “Sort of. Long story short, Hanta was supposed to come out here with Rie, but work denied his time off. So I’m the replacement Hanta.”
Bakugou looks at you. His eyes narrow. You shift in your seat, feeling a little bit like a bug under a microscope. Did you say something weird?
“What about you?” you ask, trying to lift the focus off of you. “You here on vacation?”
“...Yeah. For the weekend,” he says, looking back at the pond, exhaling sharply.
For someone on vacation, he doesn’t look too happy about it, you note.
“Us too,” you tell him. “What do you think of the ryokan? I haven’t gotten the chance to explore yet, but what I’ve seen is gorgeous. Did you just use the public onsen?”
“It’s alright,” Bakugou grumbles, and you blink, face scrunching up in incredulity.
“You must have really high standards to say that, sir,” you say, and he snorts. An expression you can’t quite make out in the low light crosses his face, fades. He really is a handsome bastard, you find yourself thinking.
He says something you don’t quite catch.
“Sorry?” you say. Internally, you scold yourself for your idle thoughts. Another part of you argues back that there’s no harm in looking.
“How’d you know I used the onsen?” he repeats, looking a little annoyed.
“Oh,” you say, surprised. Without thinking, you lean forward, reaching out to touch his hair.
Bakugou turns his head sharply; he grabs your wrist on what seems like instinct, halting you. You freeze, mortified.
“I’m sorry!” you say hastily. He drops your hand immediately, like you’re contaminated. You draw back. Flustered, you continue, “It’s just—your hair’s still a little wet. I took a guess. Sorry again, I don’t know what I was thinking.”
You were treating him like he’s Hanta, or Rie, as if you’re close friends. Jeez.
“Forget it,” he says gruffly.
There’s a long stretch of silence, and you begin to think of excuses to make to escape.
Just as you open your mouth with one, he says, “What’re you doing tomorrow?”
“I—I think Rie wanted to check out the town’s morning market, and the temple nearby,” you say. “She likes to sleep in, so we’ll probably do that after my morning run. The staff said there’s a scenic walking trail through the forest, so I’ll probably check it out.”
You force your mouth closed before the rambling continues. Wait, you should ask him the same, right? To be polite?
But before you can say anything, Bakugou grunts, then stands.
“Go back to your room,” he tells you. “It’s getting late.”
With that, he leaves. You sit there for a long moment, staring after him.
“Hey, welcome back,” Rie says from her bed, covered from nose to toes in a blanket. Her eyelids droop in a way that tells you she’s minutes from sleep. “You were gone for a while.”
“Yeah, sorry,” you say, closing the door behind you. Woodenly, you begin to gather clothes to change into. “I’m going to take a quick shower, okay? Go ahead and sleep; don’t wait up for me.”
“Mmkay,” she says, eyes already closed.
You move around as quietly as you can, getting ready for bed.
All the while, you can’t help but think about the conversation you just had. About Bakugou.
For the past couple months, at gatherings with mutual friends, it’s been like this when you talk to each other. Awkward, with a strange underlying tension. You’re not sure if it’s your fault, or his, but. You wish you could be normal around him. It’s only like this with him.
As you climb into bed, getting settled, the memory of him in his yukata flashes across your closed eyelids. The moonlight on his face, cooling the red of his eyes. His hand around your wrist.
Fuck.

Notes: Hello friends! This fic is a very belated birthday fic for our guy, my little muse 🧡 This is intended to be a twoshot, and I hope to have that second part up next weekend. Please look forward to it!
A couple notes, as there are some specifically Japanese items referenced in this fic:
A ryokan is a Japanese-style inn! Onsen are hot springs. So an onsen ryokan is an inn that features hot springs on the property. Here, here, and here are videos you can enjoy of people visiting some.
Kaiseki is a multi-course, traditional Japanese dinner. Some of the videos I linked above show the kinds of kaiseki offered!
Thank you for reading! Hugs and kisses 💕 Until part two!

Didn’t know how much I needed a fic of this scenario until now
Age gap friendship between you and Kirishima of about 4 years, his family used to watch you when you were 12 and he was 16 whenever your parents were out and the vibe, no matter what your friends tried to convince of, has always been siblings.
So it’s quite shocking when you wake up the morning after your 21st, very much naked next to an also very much naked, 25 year old Eijirou who took you out for your first night drinking

This!! Could not have said it any better myself!!
PLAY NICE by @sugoi-and-spice may be the best thing ive ever read and im going to talk about it. I binged it all today. its so good please read it
TW: Mentions of r4pe, panic attacks, abus3, and many other traumas
This may be the best characterization of Shigaraki in fiction ive ever seen. Its realistic and it starts off like he does in season one. A brat, untamed, violent, and impulsive. When we meet him its clear he has no goal and hes throwing shots in the dark, waiting to see what hits. But its deeper than that, and i think spice shows that its shigaraki used to getting what he wants, hes never "failed" before and he doesn't intend to start now.
Its messed up, its all a fucked up situation darling lands herself in. She cant say no, she cant do anything, and in many ways shigaraki is no different. He's doing as his sensei instructs, and its what hes been raised to do and he cant do anything about it either, but at he tries to enjoy what he can.
The relationship is built off of him holding this over her head, she has a good life, good family, friends, and a boyfriend. Shes smart but shes not happy, and even early shigaraki may have been a brat but he was perceptive at least. In the short time they spend together he's learned her quirks, what makes her tick, and how she really is.
they both really do bring the worst out in eachother, but it's also the best isnt it? As the story progresses we see Shigaraki give crumbs of his past or what he remembers of it, and we see her learn to let go of the facade she puts up for everyone else around her. Its not even a healthy relationship, its not like theyre "getting better for eachother" its just a passive effect. Their relationship is still founded on shigaraki very openly r4ping the poor girl and holding her fathers job over her head.
Call it stockholm, but she gets too caught up in the routine of being with Shigaraki and its adorable to see, he can fuck her brains out and then tell her to play black ops 2 with him like its nothing. Its a welcomed click because theyre both lonely, they both need someone, and even if they arent the best people, they end up becoming better i cannot stress that enough.
i dont want to spoil too much of it for anyone who reads my little ramblings on it, but shigaraki opening up to her as time continues, learning, and not just seeing her as an npc is something you need to read and i cant possibly hope to explain. He falls so hard its so good. His thought processes, his panic attacks, his itching, its all so perfect.
Spice you need to pursue a career in writing bc you've made something raw, something real. You wrote a story about two bad people, two people who are bad but better and its gross but its also gross in a cute way. i love you and i love this mwah.

I THINK I'M LOST AGAIN

7 days in beautiful Tuscany, 1 big wedding which would change the trajectory of your life. The sound of the gurgling pipes overhead this dingy bathroom along with the bass humming underneath your platform boots were the only sounds your ringing ears could make out.
Silence, shattered and broken in between two best friends, came straight after her devastating question.
“What?”
When Shoko Ieiri asked you to be her maid of honour during one drunken night out in downtown Shibuya, there was nothing you could do but excitedly say ‘yes’.
The huge rock on her finger, a sign of her forever love with none other than Geto Suguru, was the star of the show for the entire evening, that you had zero suspicions as to why she tugged you into the club’s bathroom, a grimace on her dusky rose-hued lips.
“There’s something you need to know.”
Three shots in, you giggled, looking scandalised. “What? Are you and Suguru-hic-pregnant?”
Ieiri made a face, shaking her head in disgust. “Ew. Don’t manifest such shit for me. It’s about you, actually.”
Deciding to rip the bandaid faster than you could yell wait! Shoko exhaled out:
“Gojou Satoru. Remember him? I mean of course you do, you dated him. He’s um—he’s Getou’s best man for the same wedding… PleasedonthatemeIammsosorry.”
You felt like you were strapped in the back of a car going 200 down a highway.
“What?” you almost shrieked, piercing the dingy air with your disbelief. Not even a cold shower could sober you up faster than the mention of your ex-boyfriend.
Despite it being five years since you saw the white-haired demon, his legacy was astounding. Eyeing your empty ring finger, you swallowed harshly.
“Ieiri… why would Geto do this?”
He was your friend, too. Didn’t Suguru care for you? Wasn’t he the one there to pick up the pieces of your trust that Satoru fractured so casually one night when all three of you were out in a club?
“They’ve been friends since they were in diapers,” Shoko murmured, wincing when you groaned. “I’m so sorry. I tried to change his mind, but he’s adamant. He really wants Satoru to come with us to Tuscany.”
You had to lean against the sink, arms crossed over your chest to absorb this piece of news. “Does Satoru know?”
Even saying his name burned.
You hadn’t allowed yourself to even think of him since the night you found him…
Shaking your head to rid yourself of the thoughts, you winced.
“He does. But, Geto said he seemed pretty chill about it.”
When you didn’t say anything, Shoko reached out to you, rubbing your arm. “Come on. It’s been five years. I bet Satoru regrets what he did and he’s willing to at least be nice. Can you do this? For me?”
She twisted her lips into a pout and widened her eyes, the effect comical from her deep set eye bags late nights at the hospital gave her. You inhaled deeply, closing your eyes for a split second to ward off the migraine festering in your right temple.
“Fine.”
Sunshine split across her face like the dawn of a new day, and you sincerely hoped the twinge of resentment you felt flickering in your chest would not drown out her happiness.
Shoko deserved this. She went through so much to get this ring—from Getou’s stuffy upper class parents to his equally snobbish friends—and you couldn’t bear to ruin her hope.
You sighed. “But, if he’s creepy with me, I deserve the right to sock him right in his face.”
His stupid, handsome, fucking pale face. Your venomous thoughts spilled out onto your murderous expression, tinging them with righteous violence—you could never really hide your emotions from your best friend.
Ieiri laughed, throwing her head back and clutching her midsection. The pretty, blue pastel dress she wore for tonight’s announcement party showed off her curves and delicate collarbones perfectly. You loved her too much to ever make her sad, and forced yourself to swallow the apprehension, going through with the motions to see both your friends happy.
“Don’t worry, you know I’ll help you to hide the body. Always.”
You flashed her a smile and defrosted your stiff limbs to wrap one arm around her.
“And that’s why I love you so much… bitch.”
Tumblr media
Lavish Italian sunlight spilled onto the marble floors, warming your white-tipped toes.
You stepped out onto the stone-tiled balcony and caught sight of Maki pushing Mai into the pool, her shrill complaints reaching the third floor of this glamorous villa. Fronds and ivy edged the walls, and the huge private pool would be the scene where Geto and Shoko would profess their lifetime love for each other. In the distance was a small greenhouse which grew the prettiest lilies you had ever seen—a flower native to Tuscany which held a huge meaning for everyone in your entourage.
When you had seen pictures of this gem on AirBnb, the first thing you asked Shoko was how much it cost. Your friend had then waved you off and shared that Geto would be footing most of the expenses—perks of a boyfriend who came from old money.
At least I have my own room to unwind and relax. It was good to have some time alone to yourself before the groom's party came. Shoulders aching and heart racing, you drew in a few deep breaths to centre yourself.
Mai was splashing water onto Maki, and from somewhere inside the kitchen, you heard Nobara yelling at them to not slip and fall. Chuckling to yourself, you almost didn’t hear a pair of footsteps coming behind you.
With your hair tousled, dark circles pronounced, and smelling of a 17 hour direct flight, you spun around and met a pair of crystalline ocean-blue eyes.
They were glazed over with a softness you had not seen for five years, though the same mouth you remembered kissing over and over again was puckered into a smirk.
Your breath was stolen from you, and it felt like someone had sucker punched you right in the gut.
Gojo Satoru stood before you in a neatly pressed suit and tie, looking like pure perfection under the warm, orange sunset, the shadows throwing his angular features into greater clarity.
“Y/N—”
Your feet moved you towards him before your brain could catch up, and he relaxed, as if expecting you to pull him into your embrace and welcome him back after what he did to you.
The long nights you spent crying, typing up a long paragraph to send to him only to delete it because you were sure he would ghost you—came flashing through your mind.
Satoru’s smile dissolved bit by bit when he noticed your tensed shoulders and clenched fists.
“Baby—”
Your fist flew right into face, knocking his smug grin right off.
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe you would do something like this to him!”
Shoko wanted to sound angry, but you couldn’t take her seriously, not when she was holding a bag of frozen peas and had a flower crown perched on her head.
“One hour. I left you alone for one hour—”
“He started it first,” you muttered hotly, scowling at your throbbing knuckles.
According to Geto, Satoru had decided to take the earlier flight to surprise Shoko, the both of them having not seen each other for the past two years. But, even the groom had no idea why his best man chose to stumble into your room when Shoko’s was right down the hall.
You liked to think he was there to spite you.
Ieiri sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose with her thumb and forefinger. “What exactly did he say?”
“He called me baby.”
The silence after your admittance burned hotter than a thousand humiliations. You came to the realisation of your hasty actions the very second those words left your grimacing mouth.
“And you punched him. Right in the face. For calling you baby?”
You could tell Shoko was barely holding it together, but in your defence, Gojo Satoru was a 6 foot 3 walking trigger for you.
“He doesn’t deserve the right to call me that.”
Shoko’s shoulders dropped a little at the sad note in your confession.
“Babe… I think it’s high time you try to let this go. Satoru is older now, and—”
“He didn’t even call me,” your whisper ricocheted around the room with the force of an armed squad, drawing the atmosphere right into the war’s heart. Your conflict unfurled like an old, bloodstained scroll, finally revealed for the world to see. Shoko had spent years trying to get you to open up about your fallout with Satoru with little luck.
This was the first time you were volunteering to give any information without any coercion.
You clutched your chest with two trembling fists, trying hard not to break eye contact with the floor in case the flood of sorrow collecting at your lash line would break their composure and slide down your cheeks.
“After I found out about him and Mei Mei… he stopped texting me. He didn’t even come to find me and we live just five minutes away from each other. He—” you broke off, biting down on your lower lip.
You felt the bed beside you dip, and a pair of calming arms surrounding you.
“He was an ass—I’ll give him that,” Shoko hummed empathetically. “But, you’ve done so much better for yourself now. You’re the Head of Production for Tokyo Today. You have your own apartment. You’re even thinking about adopting a puppy. You’ve got shit going on for you, Y/N, and I’m proud of how much you’ve grown. Don’t let a man from your past—a man like Satoru—make it all feel trivial, okay?”
You sniffed, nodding weakly. Wiping at your cheeks, you finally summoned enough courage to look up into your best friend’s gentle face. The beauty mark under her right eye always seemed to crinkle more when she smiled, and you adored how sweet it made her look.
“Thank you, Ieiri.”
She squeezed your shoulder, standing up.
“I’ve got to refresh that big, whiny baby’s cold compress, but once I’m done, let’s have a drink, okay?”
“Could I also have a smoke?” you asked in a timid voice, anticipating her to lecture you on the demerits of a tobacco addiction—never mind the fact that she smoked a pack in a day.
“Of course,” Shoko said, her smile crinkling the corners of her eyes. “I’ll let you bum one—on one condition.”
“What?” you asked, suddenly terrified. A million scenarios of blackmail flitted through your mind, and you wished you hadn’t opened your mouth to ask for a smoke, not when you explicitly knew how devious your best friend was.
But, her next words left you reeling in shock, wishing you could defy her even if it was her wedding week. You could never go through with it—your clenched jaw spoke volumes.
“Be nice to Satoru.”
For Shoko, you would try despite it feeling like you were swallowing a vat of poison anytime you looked at him.
You would try because unlike that selfish, white-haired bastard, you would never sacrifice someone else’s happiness just for a shot at your own.
Tumblr media
“Jesus Christ, Satoru, which bridesmaid did you offend now?”
Yu Haibara’s chirp tone and inoffensive question that was wildly inappropriate at this time was not what the young CEO needed right now.
He grumbled, pressing the bag of peas to his swollen right eye. Gojo had forgotten how strong of a right hook you had.
In fact, Gojo Satoru had almost forgotten a lot of things about you.
From the fall of your hair to how the sunset looked painted across your skin, the foolish skip of his heart was a bigger sign of his crumbling feelings than any other emotion you might have elicited in him.
When Geto had told him you would be in Tuscany too, as part of Shoko’s bridal entourage, he shamelessly begged his oldest friend to let him be a part of his groomsmen.
The dark-haired heir had only laughed, sharing that Satoru had taken the words right out of his mouth—he was about to ask Gojo to be his best man anyway.
But, what Gojo never expected was that stupid slip of endearment to lay waste to his efforts to win you back.
Baby.
Four characters. One word. A world of meaning he could never forget no matter how much time had passed.
It brought him back to late night ramen dates around campus. Staying over at your dorm to study hard for exams which he aced effortlessly only because he loved seeing your face scrunched up in concentration.
Then, the party flashed in his mind.
The lights were blue. He remembered they were blue. There was a drink in his hand, or maybe he had two.
A girl was pressed flush to him, seductively grinding her hips over his twitching bulge.
The alcohol was strong, and it was enough to dull the voices clanging in his head, demanding for him to step away. Put a stop to this before he did something he would regret.
In his mind’s eye, he liked to imagine someone must’ve told you about his sins. That you didn’t have to watch him bend down and steal another white-haired girl’s lips as she giggled into his mouth.
That you didn’t hear how he broke down in the emergency room, screaming his head off with blood on his hands.
“Satoru?”
Suguru’s voice echoed through the tangled mess of his memories. He came back to find a room of men looking at him with varying expressions of curiosity and worry on their faces.
Plastering on his signature grin, Gojo nodded at Haibara, hearing the tail-end of his comment.
“Tough luck out there for us men, huh? She must not have been too interested in me, but you know what—her loss.”
He tossed in a cocky smirk for good measure.
Appearances are everything, Satoru—remember that.
His father’s voice echoed in his mind, unwelcomed and disagreeing with everything Satoru was feeling inside his conflicted chest. He chose to bury the sticky and dangerous emotions six feet under in favour of shrugging, putting on his best, cheerful grin and hoping no one would notice the wavering sheen of wetness glistening in his eyes.
“Oh well, la vita è una cagna, eh?* Welcome to Tuscany boys.”
*"life's a bitch, huh?"

[excerpt]
Tomura Shigaraki was currently brooding.
He knew that he had no excuse to be, he was the one that got himself into this particular situation after all. Still, he didn’t think the mistake he’d made would be this glaring so early in the trip. But it was undeniable. He’d fucked up.
And judging by the look he could feel boring into his forehead as he pretended to be too engrossed in his handheld to notice anything, Sensei was thinking the same thing.
He should’ve thought it through more, but to be honest, he’d kind of panicked when Sensei had told him:
It had been about two weeks since his Sensei told him:
“I wanted to talk to you about my business trip to Kyushu next month. I’d like you to join me.”
Shigaraki’s eyes widened, looking up from the landline to Kurogiri in disbelief.
“The conference is for new innovations in technology. There will be a lot of start-ups for us to scout, a lot of acquisitions,” he continued, a clear grin of benevolence in his voice — he knew that this was a big deal for his ward and was milking every second of it, “Acquisitions you very well could be managing in a few years. I think it’d be good for you to be involved with them from the beginning.”
Shigaraki couldn’t believe it. This was the opportunity he’d been waiting for since… well since he’d first met Sensei. The day that his savior had found him, beaten and broken in that alley with absolutely nothing to call his own, and promised him the keys to kingdom come should he put in the work to take them.
This was his chance.
His chance to be seen and heard by Sensei as an equal, to have a seat at the table, to prove himself.
To do things his way.
“So what do you think?”
Shigaraki quickly found his voice, “Of course I want to go. Th-Thank you, Sensei!”
“Don’t thank me Tomura. It’s not like this is a gift or anything. It’s a lesson that is long overdue.”
“Well then, it’s about fucking time,” Shigaraki corrected snarkily.
His Sensei chuckled, “Very good, then. My secretary is making the bookings now, is there anything she should know?”
Shigaraki’s brows furrowed, “What do you mean?”
“Like any special accommodations she should arrange, things you want in the hotel room, reservations you’d like made…” he listed off like they were ideas that were just coming to him, directing to the question he really wanted to ask which was, “Any guests you’d like to bring along?”
Shigaraki paused, mind wandering unwillingly into fantasyland.
Of course the girl currently stewing upstairs in his room came to his mind. He never would’ve considered inviting her to something like this. This was business after all, and more importantly this was Sensei . The less he involved her in these kinds of things the better.
But now that the idea was in his head, he couldn’t not picture it. Hell, maybe offering to bring her on a trip like this could help him clean up and settle things between them. And then the next time he had his way with her, it wouldn’t be in a restaurant bathroom or on his perpetually unmade twin bed, but in a grand gorgeous hotel room. One that would impress even her, no matter how much she insisted that she wasn’t a ‘things’ person (because honestly, a waterside Grand Hyatt suite with a jacuzzi tub will make anyone a ‘things’ person).
When he wasn’t dazzling at the conference with Sensei and devouring her in his room, they could go out together and see the sights. Take a boat out to Nokonoshima Island, gaze out of the Fukuoka Tower at night, hit up some yatai and other entertainment on offer in Nakasu District. True, Fukuoka wasn’t exactly the first place that came to mind when he thought of romantic getaways, but—
He froze, catching his excitement before it got too out of hand and he said something he’d regret. His mind had been on a thirty second delay with the excitement of it all, but now he was processing the words his Sensei actually said, and the suspiciously leading tone of his voice.
It was an odd phrasing — no, just an odd question in general, to ask if he wanted to bring a guest on a business trip like this. It felt like a trap.
“I’m sure the President wouldn’t be too thrilled by you spending all this extra time with that little plaything he got you.” — that’s what Dabi had said.
God, he hated how right that asshole could be. About a lot of things. But especially about this.
He felt like there was no right answer here. If he said he wanted to bring her, it’d undoubtedly prove that there was some special treatment (or at least some attachment) going on, but if Sensei pressed further and actually suggested Shigaraki invite her and he denied it, that might look even more suspicious.
No, he needed to come up with something better, something strategic. He needed to be an opportunist. And he needed to do it quick, both to appease Sensei before he seemed like he was hesitating, and to get back upstairs to defuse the ticking time bomb that was undoubtedly going to blow-up and leave this apartment forever in the next few minutes.
He was far from level-headed. And that patchwork bastard’s words were circling his brain like starving buzzards. He had no choice.
“Now that you mention it,” Shigaraki said, “I do have somebody I’d like to invite.”
And that’s how Tomura Shigaraki, ever the fucking idiot (in his words at that moment), ended up not in one of the bedroom suite’s of Sensei’s private plane joining the mile-high club, but sitting in the common area next to the ever-infuriating Touya Todoroki, who seemed completely determined to replace at least half of his body’s blood supply with Macallan.
It was all he could do to bury himself as deep as possible into his switch to keep himself from snapping the asshole’s head off his shoulders.
“Thank you so much for inviting me, Shigaraki-sama,” Dabi droned, typically patronizing as he poured himself an inappropriately hefty glass from the decanter between them. No ice.
Sensei in the seat across, smiled, polite but clearly strained as he watched forty dollars by the ounce fill the glass, “Oh, don’t give me too much credit, it was Tomura’s brilliant idea.
“Well thank you Tomura,” Dabi tilted his glass towards Shigaraki, before shooting the whole thing.
Shigaraki just grunted in response, too focused on trying to look focussed on the game he was 100% not actually playing right now.
Dabi leaned in and whispered, “You know this still doesn’t get you off the hook, right?”
Shigaraki elbowed him away with a growl, “Get bent .”
Dabi chuckled, before pouring himself another glass, “Oh I intend to.”
“Tomura.”
He snapped to his Sensei’s firm call, who nodded his head behind him to a meeting area on the plane that could be sectioned off.
Shit.

Being a single mom has its ups and downs, especially when it comes to dating. You can easily recount the times you sat across from a date who looked like they ate something sour after the mention of your daughter, how they paused, spine going stiff—never keen on the type of baggage that comes in small packages.
So it’s only natural to expect the same with Gojo when you tell him on the first date in the back of a coffee shop, wincing internally with a tight grip around your cup. You wait for the awkward laugh, the promise to call you later, even though they never do.
But then he surprises you.
He smiles—that same one that filled your belly with butterflies the first time you ran into him in the elevator at work—gaze unexpectedly soft, and answers, “What’s her name?”
You take a sip of your coffee to distract yourself from that fluttery feeling in your chest. “Mai.”
Your heartbeat doesn’t slow for hours after that date; you admit you hadn’t expected him to take it in full stride.
Almost two years later, sometimes you still can’t believe it—how he fits so effortlessly in your life, that he’s shown you time and time again that he has no problem treating your daughter like his own.
He calls her princess; treats her like one, too. One day, you walk into the living room to find Mai putting clips in Satoru's hair and unicorn stickers on his face, letting her ramble about her day at daycare (because the afternoon reading circle is apparently very eventful for a bunch of four-year-olds).
On the days that he’s off work, you have to keep the fridge stocked with food, or else they’ll eat nothing but sweets all day. And when he does cook, he'll have a chair pushed up to the counter for Mai to see and help—though your kitchen is often left a total mess afterward.
It’s after dinner, Mai tucked into bed, his arms tucked around your waist while you scrub a pot, a thumb tracing your abdomen—sweetheart, what if we had another?—and you let yourself think about it. Can’t help it.
This time you won’t be alone in a delivery room, Satoru’s large hands comfortingly wrapped around yours before holding his newborn for the first time, one with Satoru’s smile and maybe your eyes. Another set of small feet running down the hall for cuddles in the morning…
You reach down and cup his hand, despite it being covered in sudsy dishwater, though he doesn’t seem to care.
“I think…I think I’d like that.”
Tumblr media
𝗬𝗨𝗨𝗝𝗜 ༊*·˚
He’s always been your best friend: since the day you fell off the swingset when you were six and after you found out you were pregnant and never heard anything back from the father.
It's possibly the best and worst thing that could have happened to you.
The best because he’s there for you until the twins come screaming into the world; it’s no surprise they’re just as drawn to his sunny personality as everyone else. Yuuji becomes a shadow at your side in the weeks after, becoming somewhat of a quasi-parent even though you never asked him to, which is why it’s the worst.
Those easy smiles are slowly replaced by the feeling of your heart trembling in your chest whenever you catch him hastily tripping up the stairs to the nursery to wake the twins from their nap. Or when he takes the three of you to the park for a picnic and spends the entire time staring at one of the sleeping little boys on your chest as if they’re doing cartwheels.
You try not to think about it too much unless you want to risk losing Yuuji, to crumble whatever solid foundation your friendship sits on. Plus, why would he want to settle with a single mom anyway?
You’ve seen the girls he’s dated, and none of them walk out of the house wearing a sweater covered in baby food stains, pretty, willowy girls who put a little more effort into their appearance than you have in months.
And the sadder, more obvious answer is that there’s no way he feels the same about you—sweet, whole-hearted Yuuji who’s friendly to strangers and always willing to help wherever he’s needed.
You’re not the exception.
There’s some truth to that, which rapidly disintegrates as the months go on. You can no longer ignore how Yuuji lights up whenever someone accidentally mistakes him for the twin’s father or mention how cute your family is.
It’s easy to imagine until you’re so wrapped up in thoughts that make you bite back a smile—of coming home to Yuuji napping with the twins on the couch, quiet evenings snuggled up under soft blankets on the couch, kissing him when he leaves for work in the morning—that you nearly miss what he says to the sweet old man who’s been giving Yuuji unsolicited parenting advice, “Maybe she’ll actually say yes when I ask her to marry me someday.”
He’s not looking at you when he says it, but you see how his smile reaches his eyes (soft as if he’s inserted himself into the same future you thought of), and for a moment, you allow yourself to hope.

He’s never been the type to want kids of his own, and yet he couldn’t turn a blind eye when you call him nearly two months since that night at his brother’s birthday party—hazily remembering you telling him you’re one of Yuuj’s friends before he took you back to his place—to tell him you’re pregnant.
“You don’t have to be there. I just thought you should know,” you say wetly.
“Jesus—” he sighs, scrubbing a hand down his face. He doesn’t think the employee breakroom at the gym is the right place to have this conversation. “Listen, don’t cry. I’ll be there, alright?”
Sukuna at least thought he’d actually be with the person he has a kid with. Over the next four years, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
There’s a lot that’s undesirable about the situation, like the fact that every time he leaves his room, he always ends up stepping on Legos because you insist on buying Hana more and leave them at his place, or that he can't eat anything these days without a small hand reaching out for his food.
But the one thing that really makes his blood curdle is whenever he has Hana for the weekend, and she rambles through a mouthful of mac n’ cheese about how you and Yuuji took her to the park, with more stories about Yuuji this and Yuuji that.
He should be grateful his brother is such a doting uncle, yet he grinds his teeth the longer his daughter prattles on.
Out of everything, this is the one thing he chooses to find an issue with: high-school sweetheart Yuuji, pictures of him found in frames all over your house; helpful and supportive, perfectly polite, always-nice-to-be-around-Yuuji who everyone gravitated towards, even you, it seems.
He tells himself it’ll go away eventually, that strange pit of jealousy festering in his chest like an open wound. It doesn’t.
Sukuna spends so much time thinking about it that he’s thoroughly annoyed by the time you stop by to pick up Hana for the week.
“Did you guys have a nice weekend? You seem…” Of course, you’d pick up on his shitty mood. “Upset.”
“I’m fine,” he grumbles, hoping you’ll leave it alone.
You don’t.
“Listen, if this is about Friday, I told you Yuuji’s okay dropping her off.”
“I bet he is,” Sukuna sneers, shoving the last of Hana’s Legos into her bag.
You huff. “What is your problem?”
“Nothing, but I bet you’ll run back to Yuuji and tell him about it anyway.”
“Are you seriously jealous of your brother?”
He scoffs but doesn’t answer.
“If you want to be with me so badly, just say it.” You put your hands on your hips. “Go on, say it.”
In the end, he breaks first. Wrapping his hand around the back of your neck, he presses his mouth to yours, fingers flexing at your little gasp. When he breaks the kiss, panting a little, he says, “I want to be with you, and I want to raise my fucking kid with you. Happy?”
There’s a scandalized gasp, and he looks down to find Hana standing there with her sandals on the wrong feet, blinking up at him with round eyes.
“Daddy, that’s a bad word.”
“Listen here, brat—ow.”

The first time he meets you, one of the associates for his company introduces you as his wife—a fresh-eyed college student who’s more concerned about staring at other women at the business function than the beautiful one on his arm—and he kindly shakes your hand, watching you give such devoted attention to a man undeserving of it.
What would it be like to be loved like that?
A few years have gone by when he sees you again, except this time, there’s no ring on your finger, and you’re in the middle of walking into his office for an interview with a little boy balanced on your hip.
“Sorry, my babysitter called in sick, and I couldn’t find a replacement in time—Oh.” It’s in that small moment between closing the door and hauling a diaper bug up your shoulder that you recognize him, too. “I didn’t realize you were the one doing the interview.”
He arches a brow. “No?”
“Sorry…again. I didn’t mean it like that, and I’m usually not this unprepared.” You set the toddler down on the floor and straighten out your skirt, giving him a shy, pretty smile.
Nanami swallows and gestures to the seat in front of his desk. “He can stay.”
While he asks you questions, your son—Haru, he learns—keeps busy with a coloring book that you give him, and before you leave after the interview, he silently proffers Nanami a sheet of paper filled with yellow and green crayon squiggles.
He tacks it to the corkboard wall next to his desk.
When you start working as his office assistant, he never brings up the topic of your ex-husband. It’s obvious the man doesn’t care about his family, anyway—not when you show up most days looking worn out.
It starts to burn in his chest, the way your eyes drop sometimes, the little reassuring nod he’ll catch you giving yourself after what must’ve been a rough morning.
Nanami knows he’s in way over his head when he asks you out for coffee; how he’s surprised you say yes, which leads to more dates until he slowly finds that smile of warm devotion aimed in his direction.
Eventually, your things fill the empty spaces in his home, and the spare room in his house becomes a nursery. His once quiet mornings of reading the paper are now pleasantly disrupted by the smell of pancakes and Haru trying to climb into his lap to read with him.
The first time Haru asks for Nanami after a nightmare—rubbing his wet eyes while standing near Nanami's side of the bed in his shark pajamas, sans one sock, until Nanami scoops him up and deposits him between you—he winces (because he doesn’t want it to seem like he’s taking something away from you) before he notices the soft smile curling your mouth.
He can’t pretend to fully understand why you ever agreed to that first date when the odds weren’t terribly in his favor, but he has a long time to learn, and right now, he’s focused on other things.
"Quiet, dove,” he murmurs, kissing your temple. “You're going to wake the baby..."

hey netizens! i'm not sure how many people are aware, but youtube's been slowly rolling out a new anti-adblock policy that can't be bypassed with the usual software like uBlock Origin and Pi-Hole out of the gate
BUT, if you're a uBlock Origin user (or use an adblocker with a similar cosmetics modifier), you can add these commands in the uBlock dashboard (under My Filters) to get rid of it!
youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0) youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, []) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)
reblog to help keep the internet less annoying and to tell corporations that try shit like this to go fuck themselves <3
