The amount of people in the tags who are surprised by this take of Max, surprised he actually considers women in motorsport and doesn’t just spout a performative pr line, tells me so much about the unwillingness of people to look past their preconceived, biased notions of a person.
Because how are you surprised about this take coming from the son of Sophie Kumpen, one of the greatest kart racers of her time who raced against drivers like Jenson Button, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jarno Trulli.
The brother who posted about his sister’s karting with the hashtag girlpower and spoke openly about how he believes she was very talented and could have gone far if she had wanted to.
The teenager who tweeted about Susie Wolff’s F1 FP experience and wished her good luck.
The man who when asked about whether he would support his child wanting to race stated that he definitely would support them (he also said he’d do it a lot different than his own father) if he OR SHE really wanted it.
Just say you do not pay attention & only see of Max what you want to see bc this should not be a surprise!

Something I need certain fans to understand is that most of us are not begrudging Carlos getting a 10 in the Aramco Power rankings.
But can you pls tell me how Max can get a Grand Slam and still not get a 10? - Bahrain 2024, ranking 9.6
Or, and this one is honestly even worse imo, how Max can clean sweep the entire weekend - lead FP1, FP2, FP3; get pole, lead every lap, get fastest lap, win the race (by 20+ seconds), get a Grand Slam - and still only get a 9.6 in the rankings? - Spain 2023
We are criticizing the inconsistency and frankly said, the clear bias of those rankings.

Whenever I see people claim that Max’s legacy will always be tainted by Abu Dhabi 2021 I have to laugh bc that just tells me they have no idea what they’re talking about.
THE Michael Schumacher won his first title by deliberately crashing his rival out and now he is widely regarded as one of, if not the, greatest of all time.
And you want to tell me something Max had no fault in whatsoever, to the point where even Lewis himself admitted he would have done exactly the same, will taint his legacy?! Pull the other one or even better, a history book.

People complaining about being tired of the Dutch anthem after only two years will never understand the pain and suffering feeling of having to listen to the German anthem for a whole decade.
Because it didn’t even matter who won - we got the German anthem for Seb because he is German, we got the German anthem for Nico because he raced under the German flag and we also got the German anthem for Lewis because guess what, Mercedes is a German team!
Do you know how many a German anthems that is?? Do you?!

Of course it is okay to have a preference but I am sick of reading Lestappen fanfics where Max is treated like sh*t but he’s the one who constantly has to apologize for himself or worse, his performance on track aka doing his job.
Max and Charles are complex and multifaceted people who both have their faults and I love them for that. Turning Max into the villain is just lazy writing and shows that the author either doesn’t like him or simply doesn’t understand him.
Lestappen fanfics where Max is always painted as the villain even though others hurt him without ever apologizing to him is the reason why I don't read more than half the lestappen fanfics that exist.
Don't claim to like lestappen if you only like Max for the ship or just when he praise Charles.
