Inspired by His Girl Friday (1940) and The Great Gatsby (2013) I acquired an “American Telephone & Telegraph” Candlestick Telephone. Completely restored by a nice man in Ohio. It’s incredibly amusing to make calls on it. Called into the Mojave phone booth once with this majestic machine, what a wild ride.

From a waste of $50 to a cool shelf I hope to pass on to my grandchildren. Lady at the thrift store was like “oh yea I tested this 2 speaker set myself they are awesome” LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE. TAKE THE GRILLS OFF LADY, THE SPEAKERS ARE MORE CRACKED UP THAN THE TWEEKERS OUTSIDE. I reckon I can’t be too mad, as I didn’t take the grills off either to check, I took her word as fact, strapped them to the roof of my auto, and excitedly screamed at the “deal” I got all the way home. Arrived at home, had my ghoul manservant Argyle lug them into my basement pad, took the grills off and my my, What pure hifi devastation. I felt used. So I channeled that shit. Mentally I was like “Ill show you lady, I will turn these into something THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE USED” at the same time I was also saying “[OPs GOVERNMENT NAME HERE] YOU FOOL, HOW COULD YOU NOT TEST THEM FIRST, THATS THE NUMBER ONE RULE OF ELECTRONIC THRIFTING”
*Little plot twist here, I used to work with the bat that sold these to me, so I had a little bit more of a reason to trust her than some absolute rando*
I was outside going ham with the Sawzall, then the sander, then the ever so lovely, paintbrush.
And thus this Tower Speaker Shelf was born!
Coming soon: Tower Speaker Cat House

I made this, not sure why? The photo itself is genuine. Taken in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I decided to take a shot of my reading on Wikipedia of the Iraq War for my Snapchat friends. They could care less what subject I am currently obsessed over. I enjoyed the background so much that I changed it to reflect my current fixation. Tsar Nicholas II. Without the politics of him, I find his beard and Mustache appealing. His story is fascinating, it’s unfortunate in many ways, both for the country and himself & family.

500-Year-Old Body of Man Wearing Thigh-High Boots Found in London Sewer Construction
During the construction of London’s massive “super sewer,” archaeologists discovered something unusual in the mud: a 500-year-old skeleton of a man still wearing his thigh-high leather boots.
The Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) announced this week that the skeleton was unearthed on the shores of the Thames, near a bend in the river downstream from the Tower of London.
“By studying the boots, we’ve been able to gain a fascinating glimpse into the daily life of a man who lived as many as 500 years ago,” said Beth Richardson, a finds specialist who analyzes artifacts at MOLA Headland, a consortium of archaeologists. “They have helped us to better understand how he may have made his living in hazardous and difficult conditions, but also how he may have died. It has been a privilege to be able to study something so rare and so personal.” Read more.
