Making a Life.
the past 3 years have gone so fast.
So much has happened. I’ve hurt, I’ve lost, I’ve grown, but above all. I’ve grown tired.
Oh so very tired.
Tired of pretending.
Tired of trying.
Tired of hiding.
It’s my final year of high school already
I could have sworn that just a while ago I was getting ready for my first year.
Crazy to think that was 5 years ago...
This year I’ve decided is going to be better (I know this is so generic, and everyone says this, but I’ve been through so damn much, & I need a break).
Call me depressed or whatever, but for the past 7 years, I’ve found myself wasting every waking moment I have that isn’t being taken up by school or sleep.
I lie down, too exhausted to move, and I fill my brain with the audio from any youtube video I can find, to distract my brain from the thoughts I have, and the responsibilities I need to be taking care of, while I speed run old games from my brief and fleeting childhood (on my DS, in my bed so no one can see).
I’m so sick and tired of wasting my time like this.
I’ve just turned 17 and I don’t have friends to hang out with after school.
I sit in the bathrooms during lunch and recess.
I spend hours in the library trying to study after school, but all I end up doing is making goddamn checklists that I never follow.
Are these the teen years that I always hoped and dreamed I would have?
Of course not.
Am I happy with them?
At one point I thought I was. When I was 12 and I realised that I had the time to sit in my room and watch anime and youtube for hours without having to see anyone.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you forget the ones you love. The rot and decay while you’re in your room alone, and you don’t see it happening.
You have to keep your eyes open, and in turn, maybe leave your door open a crack.
