Furudate always puts something not concerning volleyball in some chapters, so I’ve seen some development for some het pairings which could become canon one day! Here they are:
- AkiSae (well they haven’t interacted very much yet, but I hope they will soon!)
- DaiYui (she’s confirmed!! XD)
- YamaYachi (he’s totally confirmed xD)
- SugaKiyo (well, he’s the only one who can talk normally to her, it would be kind of natural for them to be together)
........ it hurts. It hurts so damn much. But it's also beautiful, in a way.
We've been with them for so many chapters and years. We've seen them growing up, losing and winning, until they came to this point, until they finally reached nationals again. Having to leave the court, right now, it hurts so, so much. Furudate showed us the title of the chapter (which I find almost creepy) AND the faces of those teammates, whose last chance to stay on the court just disappeared - Daichi, Suga, Asahi and Kiyoko.
It hurts so much, also because Karasuno lost in the same way they won against Aoba Johsai the second time. It hurts, because Hinata is not there, losing with his teammates. It hurts for so many reasons.
However, it's one of the best plot twist we could ever have. Bless you, Furudate-sensei.
I think it's a brave choice, to make the main team of the story lose, because you as an author could have so much audience against you after this. You could lose readers, just because you chose not to be slave of the readers' taste and follow your own plot, which has realism and truth and is perfect as it is. Damn, that was so cool, Furudate-sensei. I would shake your hand with respect while crying for Karasuno's loss. XD
Because it was just... right. So damn painful, but right.
Now, hoping that Karasuno doesn't come back in the tournament thanks to a senseless miracle and hoping that the perfection of this plot can be preserved, I can only imagine that Haikyuu!! will go on for much longer now. We could see the third-years graduating, but also new players appearing, we could see teams that we thought we would never see again, and so much more. I wonder what Furudate wants to show us now... I just hope that the manga doesn't end like this, and I wouldn't want to see a time-skip either.
So wow, great job, Furudate-sensei. You broke our heart in a terrible and wonderful way.
