I was thinking this morning about season 1 Bobby Nash (with the added context of Bobby Begins again). I was thinking about the fact that he didn't come to LA to start a new life. He came to LA to die. He came to save the life of 148 people and end his own life when he was done. I was thinking about Bobby seeing himself as a superhero, invincible and untouchable, then seeing his failures pile up. The shame that comes with that, how heavy it must be. Bobby turning into a monster, people dying on his watch. He wasn't just a father and a husband, he was a first responder. He swore to protect not just his family, but everybody in the world. The guilt. Bobby losing hope. Giving up. Staying alive just to repay a debt, but ultimately choosing death. If God didn't kill him, he would do it himself. And then his new friends, his new family, punching holes in the armor he's created around himself. Putting hand over hand to pull him out of the hole. Bobby Nash is alive today because his friends loved him back to life.

This is the story that made me fall in love with the show.

Tbh the problem with ship wars is that everyone tries to find a moral high ground to prove their ship is superior when actually shipping should be about making two characters kiss like a kid playing with barbie dolls
