My exams are over which means.... you get a snippet of a short trio de la jalousie drabble which is (so surprisingly) as fluffy as it gets !!

The sun is probably starting to rise, although they have no way of knowing for sure: no natural light filters all the way down to the deep underground levels where they’re staying. Cristal hasn’t been down there long enough to grow accustomed to the lack of it, and there’s a part of her, like some deeply buried instinct, that tells her when it’s daytime on the surface. Sadia assured her she’ll forget, eventually, and Cristal isn’t sure if she wants to. The sun is what she misses most about her old life; but for now, she stirs comfortably on the bed, feeling rested for the first time in what feels like years. She doesn’t want to open her eyes, not yet. The mattress is so soft she doesn’t know if she’ll ever be able to get up. And most importantly, her lovers are curled up against her and she doesn’t want to wake them. God knows they need sleep even more than she does.

Writing fluff but the fluff is so fluffy that literally nothing happens..... how have I strayed so far from the source material....

it's been years and it's still genuinely crazy to me that the first two seasons of stranger things had this throughline where all the bad things that were happening in hawkins were directly caused by the us government and that they were excusing the awful things they were doing to their own citizens (children!) through cold war/red scare reactionism. and then in season three there was a secret russian base under the town mall.
