This sketch was part of an idea from a comic I was doing long ago.  Wasn't happy with the idea however, so I have scrapped it because I just wanted to do something different from the usual linear idea of "fallen child comes and goes through underground and frees everyone." or "kills everyone"

So this might be a long one.  If you are interested in more info read on. I do have a new concept idea, and the reason I first started drawing this way back when, was because of the new concept idea I had forming.  Whether I actually continue to work on it though and expand on it, we'll see.  I am merely finishing up some old sketches and work atm. The original idea for the story had the fallen demon child Chara, who was a literal demon.  Half demon to be exact.  They are looked down upon by their demon halves for having the blood of humans, often killed and hunted by other demons merely for EXP, or very rarely kept by higher ranked demons as servants.  Being given the choice to serve under them or be killed.  Most who end up in this position can still be killed at a moments notice, if the higher ranked demon loses interest or deems them useless as servants.  Chara was part of the latter group, being kept as a servant, but abused and tortured daily for their masters amusement.  Hoping for an escape, and to find acceptance they seek out their human halves.  Rumored to have all gone extinct long ago, when the last remaining humans sealed themselves away in a mountain to die rather then be eaten by demons.  Chara goes in search of this supposed mountain, holding hope that maybe there may still be humans within it.  They search endlessly until finally encountering the mountain once known as Mt Ebott by the humans.  Their search finally at an end, as they find remnants of humans still alive within the mountain. Toriel in this original draft of the story was also a half-demon much like Chara, who had a similar previous life prior to entering the underground.  In the beginning, the caretaker of the ruins lies to the younger half-demon about the existence of the remaining humans, trying to protect them from the horror she experienced upon meeting them for the first time. However, when the truth finally comes to light and Chara is adamant on proceeding on, the caretaker decides the only way she can help them now is by giving in to the inevitable.  If they are set on dying, then she will give them the death they seek, where she would be sure to join them after.  So they will not be lonely anymore.   There is more to the previous story, but as I said this was the basic information from the original idea. With the new concept idea I had I wanted to focus more on each of the characters lives before someone inevitably comes into them.  (ex. Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys etc.) Each of them have their own stories.  In fact, Toriel and Asgore's story are so intertwined together that its a bit impossible to say more without also talking more about Asgore, but I would rather wait to say more until I have his concept art drawn.  (Which I do, and is one of the unfinished sketches in my line up) I will say that this is Toriels life before Asgore, and how she looks as well when they first meet. No one is trapped within the mountain this time around.  

Toriels Story is that she is the servant of a human lord.  Her mother once a princess who ran away from her noble life to be with a demon.  Both were hunted down and killed, the ex-princess thought to have been "bewitched" by the demon.  In order to "save" her soul, the lord and his men killed her mother, and kept Toriel as their "prize" to show off to the people and send a message to them.  That they need not fear demons, as long as he is around.  He shall protect them and keep them safe as long as they continue to swear their loyalty to him.  Because of this she is often abused, she is kept in a wooden cage, shackled (as shown by the bruises on her arms and legs and neck ) to keep her from escaping and in full display for any passerbys to show their discontent when traveling.  Often being thrown stones or spit upon by people. She is kept unkempt, full of scratches that have not been attended too.  Her hair is so long it actually covers both sides of her face, but for drawing purposes to show how her eyes look underneath, I drew one of them for reference. How Asgore and Toriel meet from here...shall be discussed later.

Originally, I had thought of the name DemonSwap, but I don’t think I will continue to use that title.  Maybe as more info comes out I will decide on something else to call it. For now this is all.
