Howdy! For writers submitting a contribution app, are they allowed to use NSFW works in their portfolio? I completely understand the zine will not include NSFW, but the portfolio is just an example. Thanks :-)
Hi! Thanks for your interest in contributing to the zine ^_^!
Writers and artists will be allowed to submit NSFW works in their portfolios, just remember to include the proper content warnings! For writers, this can be placed before the work, and for artists it can be included in the file title!

INTEREST CHECK RESULTS — 🪩
Thank you everyone for 196 responses on the interest check for After Death, Life Again: A Disco Elysium Zine! The zine will move forward with a physical release, and mod apps will open on April 6th.
Full breakdown of results below! ⬇
96% of respondents answered with a 4 or higher for interest, and the majority of respondents expressed interest in a physical zine!
Over 50% of respondents expressed interest in supporting the zine, with the majority of contributors interested in contributing art. At least one respondent was interested in each moderator role available.
80% of respondents indicated that they would like some or all proceeds to go toward charity, with the most suggested areas being Aid for Palestine and Medical Care/Relief. Contributors will be able to vote for a specific charity later on in the process.
The most popular merch items were stickers, acrylic charms, prints/postcards, digital wallpapers, printables, emojis, enamel pins, and RPG dice!
Additional suggestions from respondents included coloring pages, DIY models, & clothing items (shirt, socks, tie, etc.).
The following represents the majority-voted price ranges for different tiers of the zine. We'll be sure to provide multiple options to suit various needs.
— Full bundle: $50-55
— Physical only: $25-30
— Digital only: $15-20
— Merch only: $20-25
While the zine will cover events in past, present, and future timelines, there was a preference toward exploring canon and post-game events!
You all had some amazing ideas in for the themes section, with the most popular suggested ones being exploration of the world of Elysium, side characters, and the Pale/ the Return.
Once again, thank you all for your support, and please be on the lookout for mod apps (open 4/6) and contributor apps (open 5/18)!

Heya! I love the idea of a DE zine, and would also be overjoyed if I could contribute to it as a writer :D

For zine submissions, we will ask that contributors create a new piece that hasn’t been published yet, but poetry, short stories, scripts, and other forms of writing, such as articles or in-game texts, are all welcome in both portfolios and pitch ideas!

Q: Who's behind this project?
A: Hi, Jay (23, she/they) here! I'm a relatively new Disco Elysium fan, but have been swallowed by the Pale and can no longer find my way out. I've been linking my DE sideblog @kimkatsu on the info docs, but you can also find more signs of life on my main @starspaces.
In terms of previous experience, I've been a contributor and a GFX/layout mod for a handful of zines in the past few years, most recently as the head mod of @crktravelzine. I also have experience with physical printing and merch production.
Mod applications will be open from April 6 - May 5 for those interested in joining the team!
Q: Where can I submit my application to join the zine?
A: The project is currently in interest check period, but contributor applications will be open from May 18 - June 16, through a Google Form posted on our socials. If you'd like to receive a reminder email when this happens, you can sign up for our newsletter!

Hello! Will there be guidelines as to what "past" and especially "future" will entail? How much will the zine present a unified vision of events Vs how much will it be each creator following their own interpretations and plot bunnies? Thanks in advance!
Hi! Yes, when contributor applications open, more concrete periods will be given to define what falls into the past and future eras (e.g. whether or not Sacred and Terrible Air is qualifiable content). This will primarily be influenced by interest check comments.
Given that every player’s experience with DE is slightly different, the idea is that contributors will be free to follow their own interpretations. However, pitches will be selected so that we can present an overarching narrative that ultimately ends on a hopeful note, to follow the “life again” theme of the zine. This is subject to change, but describes the current direction.
