Listen there’s no argument of “rape/abuse fantasies, even if they’re exclusively fantasies, are disgusting and you are disgusting for having them” that doesn’t turn directly in radfem rhetoric.

The idea that it’s your responsibility as a feminist to police all your thoughts and private sexual expression (which I would strongly argue appropriately tagged and archived fiction/art is) in order to avoid harming feminism and Be A Good Woman is radfem. There is no way around it.

If your taste in fiction/fantasies necessarily correlates to your personal politics and morals, then it makes sense to ensure that yours and others fantasies line up with your politics and morals. It becomes a form of protecting yourself, a subset of activism in its own right. And all of a sudden we’ve looped straight back around to policing women’s sexual thoughts for The Good Of Society.

The moment you start shaming and forbidding fantasies on the basis of morality, you’re about ¾ of the way to radfem.

Summary:

The toll from losing countless children is beginning to take its effect on Anna, but one day she meets a strange woman who wanders into her territory, injured and in need of her help. She decides to stay with Anna, and they begin to grow closer together. They rely on each other for survival and comfort in the harsh Russian forest.

When a mysterious fog rolls in after a tragedy, what will this mean for the two of them?

I am so relieved that I finally finished my first major piece of fan fiction! This was an incredible project for me to take on, and I am glad to see it through to the end!

The purpose of this fic was to help me explore how Anna might behave had she met someone to reconnect her humanity with prior to being taken to the Entity's world. This was basically an AU, so some ooc content was present, but I did my best! Onwards!

I think my stance on dark, problematique content in fanworks should be fairly obvious to anyone who follows me or reads my fic. But just in case, here is my Official Stance for the record.

If you create or consume fanworks featuring dark subjects such as - but not restricted to - rape, sexual violence, and abuse, we’re friends. I don’t need to know why you engage with that content. I don’t need to see your survivor credentials. It’s none of my business if you use fanworks to process your own trauma, or to play out sexual fantasies, or for whatever other reason. As long as you tag your content appropriately so that people can make an informed decision about whether they want to engage with it, we’re good.

If you do not create or consume fanworks featuring dark subjects, but respect other people’s right to do so, we’re friends. I don’t need to know why you don’t engage with that content. Your preferences and why you have them are none of my business. We’re good.

If you shame, name call, or otherwise attack people who enjoy fanworks featuring dark subjects, we are not friends. I don’t care why you think it’s bad. I don’t care if you believe you’re morally correct and that people who enjoy that content are retraumatizing themselves or encouraging real world abuse. You’re wrong, but that’s not the point. The point is that nobody in the history of humanity has ever changed someone’s point of view through attacking them. All you are doing is making yourself feel righteous by hurting and scaring people.

Corollary to the above: if you dismiss or deride people who don’t enjoy dark fanworks, claim they are immature, or lump them in with antis, we are not friends. Grow the fuck up.

If you are an anti, we are not friends.

I’m not going to demand that you block me, because it’s my job to curate my own fandom experience. Feel free to block me if you want to, or don’t, or keep following me so you can read my cute fluff fic while thinking me and my friends are disgusting, you fucking hypocrite. It’s no skin off my nose.

Fiction is not reality. Stop attacking real people to defend fictional characters, and stop pretending you’re anything other than puritans in woke clothing.
