oh gosh, yeah I totally agree on Sam probably fixating on his food because it's something that he can control. like when he's young and confused about everything it's something he can control (and his low self confidence is linked to it) but when he's an adult with all these traumas he uses it as something he can control as well. ALSO, I think in Stanford that's when he probs had it under control and forgot about his eating disorder vice. (okay but jess having experience with it and teaching him how to deal is soooo sweet)
and I can kinda imagine scenes of Sam being a broody teenager, jealous of Deans girls and craving the attention. so it could be Sam wanting to be fussed over and also being self conscious over his body.
Sam with an eating disorder makes sense. like, him being a teen and in love with his big brother, but his bid brother only dates pretty, skinny girls. So Sam is constantly self conscious about his appearance because of the girls Dean dates. and his general 'I'm not good enough' mentality. DISCUSS
