@soohxn upon hearing news of bailey, dallas instantly went to find felix. he knew the two were close and he wanted to make sure he was okay. or maybe he just wanted an excuse to talk to felix. he wasn’t quite sure about that yet, the feelings he had for felix were vague and confusing. he had told felix to come to his dorms, and was now waiting for him to arrive.

dallas made his way to felix’s room, distraught. he’d just found out about his parents situation. he never knew he was a mistake- essentially that’s what he was, a mistake. his parents had sex without any meaning, and by chance his mother had gotten pregnant. he knew felix had family problems, and he was hoping he could comfort him in some way. though he had been terrible to felix, but he was hoping felix would find it in his heart to help a tiny boy in his quest for not feeling so shitty and terrible about absolutely everything that was going on

he felt himself break down in tears, he sat on the front step of the roommate house, waiting for a reply from the taller boy

dallas didn’t know why he felt the need to learn yet another language, he already spoke fluent english, korean and cantonese. but apparently that wasn’t enough for him as he sat at the kitchen table with a japanese textbook in front of him. he groaned loudly as he hit his head against the table, he didn’t seem to be able to easily get any of this stuff. you’d think it would be easy for him now that he’d gone through this process three times, but he still wasn’t able to grasp the concept of the japanese language. he lifted his head back up, staring down blankly at the page. “what the hell is this even trying to teach me..” he muttered as he began trying to work out the japanese phrases once more.

artie frowned as he noticed someone walking towards him. he was currently curled up in the corner of the kitchen and didn’t want to be bothered. “yes i’m okay, no i’m not going to help you. my name’s artie, yes i know i look young, no i’m not going to move. that should answer all questions you could have, now you can go on your way and leave me in peace.”

dallas stared down at the boy on the floor, “my name’s dallas. i look young too.” he spoke quietly, moving to sit next to him. “maybe i should leave you in peace, but it looks like you might need company. and by that i mean i’m fairly new here and i don’t have anyone else to talk to.” he shrugged, looking over at artie. “it’s nice to meet you, artie.”

Laughing, Junghwan shot a finger gun in the other male’s direction. “Gotcha, I’ll make sure to let you know.” Inwardly, he was already scanning his short, mental list of male idols to see if he could remember seeing any other petite, male rappers. The other male really did seem to be the one and only, if his memory served; then again, he didn’t pay attention to every male group that debuted or performed. He’d have to pay more attention to more groups, Dallas’s included.

“It’s no problem,” Junghwan stated with a smile. “If you ever want someone to talk to in English, I definitely don’t mind.” It was an odd but comforting reminder of the States, and it made him slightly miss his father. He made a mental note to send an e-mail to him before noticing the smaller male had been swinging his arms. He mimicked the other’s actions with a wider smile before nodding in agreement. “Well, hopefully, we’ll still be able to find your room in the process. I’d hate it if we accidentally wandered into the wrong room.” Making a face, he shook his head before breaking out into laughter. “That would be awkward. Like, what if a girl was changing or something? One of the idol girls? Man, I think I’d die.” He cleared his throat before pumping his fist in the air. “Of happiness, I mean.” In reality, he would probably die out of embarrassment if he saw that much skin. He hadn’t even been to the pool or the beach since the move to the States; he had even spent most of his time indoors when the Roommate producers had shipped him off to Jeju Island.

dallas smiled at the other, “i hope we’ll go into the right room.” he nodded. he was sure some way they’d manage to find his room. if not, there were cameras and staff everywhere. they’d always be able to ask them if worst came to worst. though dallas wasn’t too bothered by the whole room finding issue. it wasn’t even an issue to him, he knew they’d find where he was meant to be in the end,

dallas’ eyes grew wide at his next words, “an idol girl? do you know how awkward that would be for me, i see a bunch of idols at music shows. what if we did walk in on one of them and i see them at a music show? i’d be known as ‘that-guy-who-saw-that-idol-changing,’ i’m not prepared to become that guy. we need to go to the right room.” he shook his head, aware he was beginning to ramble on. “i don’t think my death would be due to happiness. embarrassment, maybe.”

“a little over two months,” yura answered after thinking for a bit. just before her comeback and after joker promotions. that seemed about right. she nodded, pointing down the stairs. “it’s downstairs! rooms one to fifteen are upstairs, just in case you’re ever looking for someone in those rooms.” she offered with a smile. “come, i’ll take you there.”

dallas’ eyes widened at her words, “two months?” he questioned, he couldn’t imagine himself being in this space for a time close to two months. he’d be lucky if he lasted one, he didn’t even really want to be here. he only really agreed because he knew one of his members would be here. “ah! thank you!” he bowed, moving to follow the girl.

hwangryumin:

“Nate!” she screamed almost insanely. She had run into Nate a couple of days into the WGM event, realizing that he was casted onto the show as well. He was, afterall, her favorite member, but what surprised her was that she paid little attention to Dallas as a member. Is it completely terrible that I forgot he was in the group? she thought a bit scared. The man already intimidated her enough, so she remained quiet, hoping that his expressions would soften.

“Sure, just sleep tight and don’t ruin your schedule. I should find Nate and tell him I’ve met you” she said smiling wide.

dallas’ eyes grew wide at the exclamation of his name, “uh- yeah. nate.” he nodded, slightly taken aback by the reaction. he knew his maknae wasn’t that popular so a reaction like this was quite strange for him. he guessed the girl had forgotten he was a member of the group, and knew of nate only. it didn’t bother him though, he wasn’t fazed by not being recognized. “uh- yeah. sure, tell nate.” he nodded, walking into his room.

hwangryumin:

“An idol?” she perked up sharply. Ryumin was quite the fangirl when it came to idols. “What group? Or are you a soloist?” she questioned. It wasn’t that she became obsessed with idols when she met them, it’s just that she aspired to be them, and always wanted to be the supporting friend for them. Ryumin tended to support her idol friends through watching comeback stages, cooking them foods on their busy schedule, and overall just supporting them. It was her dream to make it out from trainee level to an actual known idol.

dallas nodded, “i’m in a group called i’ll. my member nate is here too.” he just wished ryumin would stop talking to him. he wasn’t in the mood for talking, their introduction had completely put him off of creating conversation with the girl. “please, if you have any more questions, can they wait until tomorrow? i really want to go sleep right now.” he sighed, hoping he would get to his room soon, he didn’t know if he could take much more of this

it wasn’t a surprise that yura wasn’t very familiar with the group the boy was in; sometimes she wondered if that made her a terrible sunbae but in reality there were just too many groups debuting, disbanding and coming back for her to know everyone. smiling, she shook his hand. “it’s nice to meet you as well.” letting go of his hand, she opened the door wider for him to walk in. 

dallas smiled at the other, walking in, dragging his luggage carefully behind her. “how long have you been here?” he questioned, turning around to face the other. at this point he was doing whatever he could to create some sort of conversation. “do you know where room nineteen is?” he asked the other, looking down at the ground.

hwangryumin:

“Room nineteen…follow me this way” she said, paving the way down halls and rooms. “This is the closest bathroom to your rooms…be sure to claim it when you want because, let me tell you, it gets quite hectic in the morning before celebrities schedules…Oh, how rude, I didn’t even ask what your occupation was…” she said nosily while perking up towards the man. Unlike Dallas, Ryumin was outgoing to the touch, and wanted to spend every minute of their time talking.

dallas followed the girl, hoping at some point she would be quiet and let him go about his business. he let out an agitated sigh as she asked him a question, he wasn’t in the mood for talking and really just wanted to be left alone. “i’m an idol.” he replied, not wanting to waste his time asking questions to be polite in return. 

hwangryumin:

Ryumin was quite surprised with the tone of his voice. He seemed rich and prestigious, as so she thought at first glance. “Did you need help unpacking? Getting a house tour? anything?” she asked, hoping to help him feel more at home. To her though, she felt as if he would never open up to her in the duration of time he was going to be spending in the house.

dallas shook his head, “i just need you to tell me where room nineteen is.” he continued to speak in his unfriendly tone. in short, he couldn’t wait to get out of this conversation and be alone. coming from a mixed family he was used to being called a foreigner, but it didn’t mean it upset him any less. it just made him feel a certain disliking towards the girl in front of him, maybe eventually he’d come around to her. but for the time being, he just wanted to get away from her. this wasn’t an introduction he found desirable in the slightest.

hwangryumin:

Ryumin was the first to open the door, opening it wide as she looked at the man standing before her. “Oh…foreigner?” she asked while examining his features. She was quite sure that he was from another country. “Hello, I am Ryumin…and has anyone ever told you that you look similar to Harry Styles?” she asked laughing. She hoped that it didn’t offend the man, but she was curious as to the style of his hair.

dallas blankly stared at the other, “i’m not a foreigner. i’m korean.” he coldly spoke, letting himself into the house without another word. normally dallas would be much more welcoming and happy, but something about being called a foreigner upset him, and here next words weren’t any better. “yes, i have. though terribly i do not see it. i’m dallas woo.” he continued to speak with a to the point monotone voice, feeling no reason to try and give his efforts in being nice.

it looked like with the university students slowly starting school again, the house was emptier than usual, meaning yura was the one opening the doors more often and meeting the new roommates. there were already a few new ones she’s met and given a mini tour to and she was ready to do that once again. maybe the day off was used on the wrong day. opening the door, yura smiled at the new male member. “hello, i’m going to assume you’re a new cast memeber by your luggage?”

dallas nodded, “oh- yes! sorry, i forgot to introduce myself! i’m dallas woo, a new cast member and rapper of idol group ‘i’ll’” he smiled, realizing he hadn’t introduced himself properly to the other. “it’s really really nice to meet you.” he smiled at the other, sticking his hand out to shake her hand politely.

felix nodded, “yeah! that sounds really good.” he smiled, not expecting dallas to suggest something similar. he didn’t think dallas would want him to stay, after their strange meeting. “i’m sorry i held your hand, i’m just. i’m just a touchy person.” he scratched his head, shaking his head at the other. “i hope i didn’t make you feel uncomfortable or anything, i’ll try not to do it anymore, promise!”

dallas moved to sit on his bed once felix agreed to stay, pulling down awkwardly on his sweater. “what type of movies do you like? you speak english so- we could watch an english one? or- i just kind of assumed you speak english too. you know- felix is a english name and i.” he began rambling, but cut himself off with a sigh, realizing what he was doing. “no- no! it’s fine felix! felix, honestly. it’s fine. i’m a touchy person too, it’s okay.” he gave the boy a reassuring smile, not wanting felix to feel bad about nothing. “you didn’t make me feel uncomfortable felix, okay? i feel completely fine, i’m not uncomfortable at all, you’re good felix. you’re good.”

Clapping his hands together, Junghwan shook his head furiously. “No, wait, now that you mention it. Well. I’m pretty sure I’ve watched you guys perform on music broadcasts before.” A light flush dusted his cheeks as he beamed at the other. “Sorry, I tend to pay more attention to girl groups, but really, your group as a whole is pretty slick. I’ll pay more attention next time you guys promote.” Nodding his head, he winked at the other male before throwing the other a thumbs up as well. “A rapper though, huh? Nice, you break those stereotypes about pretty boys.” Junghwan was used to being stereotyped based off of his slightly shorter stature and choice of college major, but he essentially fit those stereotypes to a T anyway. Seeing someone like Dallas confess to being a rapper – and vaguely remembering that he rapped well – was pretty inspiring though.

“Well, since we’re on a Korean broadcast, I guess we should switch back to Korean then.” He laughed awkwardly before walking down the stairs, peering over his shoulder before the boy caught up to his pace. “Mmm, honestly? Less than a week. I joined the show right as they flew off to Jeju Island, so I’ve barely gained my footing in this house.” He shrugged his shoulders before laughing more genuinely. “Maybe I’m not the right person to show you around after all.”

dallas smiled at the others reply, “you have? that’s awesome! ah- i understand that, girl groups are quite nice. thank you, that’s really nice.” he nodded, bowing politely at the other. laughing slightly at his wink. “breaking the stereotypes is what i do best. if you ever find another 149cm male rapper, make sure you tell me. i’d like to befriend him.” he joked, he didn’t know if he had even come across a female rapper who was that short. though his current height was more 153cm, insoles did wonders.

“that is very true, we probably should speak korean. i just get caught up in my english, okay?” dallas smiled, nodding as if to agree with the boy. he just got invested in his english that he completely forgot they were meant to be speaking in english. “it’s fine, this way it’s an adventure!” he smiled, cheerily swinging his arms as he walked alongside the other. “it’s always exciting going to new places, we can discover the house together.”

felix was slightly confused when he felt dallas hold his hand, he blushed a similar color to the boy next to him and stared down at the ground. he shyly interlocked their fingers, not quite knowing what this feeling was. he had no idea why such a small action was flustering him so much, but it was. “uh- this is your room.” he pointed to the other room, continuing to hold onto dallas’ hand. “ah- sorry.” he mumbled, letting go of his hand. “i can go now, if you want.”

dallas shook his head, “it’s fine! i’m the one who took your hand remember.” he smiled, nodding at the other. “it’s fine, you don’t have to go. do you- want to come in or something? we can get to know each other a bit more, maybe watch a movie?” he suggested, not wanting felix to go quite yet. he didn’t know why he was feeling so attached to felix, but he was. all he wanted was to spend just a little more time with the taller boy.
