i think at this point we’re ready to announce that we will, officially, be adding 10 additional muse slots to our roster, entirely separate of our subplots ! if you think you might be into a cute little camp setting but none of our subplot roles catch your eye, there’s still space for you here at dagwood. along with this, we will be switching our muse limit to 3 muses for current members ! new muns applying after this announcement will still have a two muse maximum, and will be able to apply for a third muse after a few days of activity ( our guidelines will be updated accordingly ). i know i, personally, have a new muse planned already - so we’re hoping you’re all just as excited for this opportunity !

edit: just give us a little bit of time to work out how the new muse slots will be displayed on the muse list ( molly isn’t around right now and i’m too dumb to work out the best way to do it it myself ). feel free to apply in the meantime, and we’ll keep track of how many slots are available as apps come in  !

hi, i’m here with a new mascot ! a few of our muse slots have freed up & we really urge you to check them out ! here’s a link to our subplots. beyond that, prior to our opening, we got a request to accept some muses unassociated with subplots, and we’ve been thinking that over. we’re going to leave it open to member opinion before deciding for sure, but we’re thinking about including 10 slots for additional muses, outside of our subplots. additionally, we’d like to expand the number of muses that existing members are allowed to have to 3. what are we thinking about that ?

what?   camp dagwood’s annual staff bonfire. where?  lakeside on the camp grounds. when?   06/03-06/05. who?  all camp staff is invited.

the staff bonfire is an annual camp dagwood tradition. the night before campers arrive, the staff all gathers by the lakeside for a night of catching up with other returning staff or getting to know everyone if you’re new. but there’s a twist: tradition dictates that at the beginning of the night, all staff is to pull a dare from a hat. it’s typically a harmless little task, meant for a laugh at best and a little playful humiliation at worst, but not completing your dare comes with consequences. camp legend says that you have to complete your dare by the time the bonfire ends, or else you’ll be fated to have your most unlucky summer yet. will your muse be up to the challenge ?  or will the play with fate and risk the summer going sour from the very start ?

for our first event, we wanted to do something fun and laid back, but throw in a little twist that encourages interacting with others. as far as threads go, anything goes. take this as an opportunity to start getting your footing in your subplots or other things you’ve plotted. but beware, your muse will be sent a dare at the beginning of an event, and your muse will have til the end of the event to complete it.  you may choose to respond to the dare in ask meme format, self para, open starter, or in a private thread, whichever you like. event threads can start taking place as early as 5 pm on june 3rd & can continue up to 12 am on june 5th. you may continue non-event interactions during the week, but we’d love to see event related threads prioritized. be sure to tag all starters with dagwoodevent1, so everyone can find them !

we’ve got our first event information coming soon, get excited ! we’re still focusing on setting up a good schedule for things to drop this week, but i thought i’d just stop by the main to remind the tags that we have one open slot in our subplots, if you’re looking to join a fun, sleepaway camp roleplay. there’s still plenty of time to join before we start our event, come check us out !

below are the options for our first event!!! as far as timing is concerned, we imagine this taking place prior to the campers arriving for the summer. we understand that many have elected to write threads with campers already involved, but these are just meant to be light, fun events that shouldn’t mess with timelines or subsequent events too much, so no stress! click here for a poll to vote for your favorite event.

EVENT 01  :  welcome bonfire

the night before the campers arrive, it’s dagwood tradition for the staff to join together for a bonfire. every year at the welcome bonfire, all staff is encouraged to participate in an old camp ritual: they pass around a hat filled with dares as the bonfire begins, just a simple, harmless task, save for the possibility of a little embarrassment. camp legend says that you have to complete your dare by the time the bonfire ends, or else you’ll be fated to have your most unlucky summer yet. *dares will be sent to each member via ask box, and they may choose to respond to the dare in ask meme format, self para, open starter, or in a private thread.

EVENT 02  :  motel party

a short distance from camp is an isolated motel where counselors and most head staff (they’re the ones that started the tradition when they were counselors, after all) rent multiple rooms to host a summer kick-off party at the end of every orientation week, just before the campers arrive. it’s their one opportunity to let loose before the camp season officially starts. and since they’re off dagwood grounds, anything goes. but this year, the administration is tipped off. do they resolve to break up the party and start off the new season by writing up all of their staff, or do they adopt an if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em mentality and join in on the fun? *muses in administrative roles have the ability to decide how their will respond to the party, the main will assign roommates for sleeper rooms at random.

EVENT 03  :  field day

this would be held on campgrounds before the campers arrive for the season. there will be contests and field games, music, food trucks, a rented bouncy house and ball pit. *this event would feature an interactive element where muses are randomly divided into two teams in direct competition for the day. we will post a variety of competitions and events on the main, and you will submit to us a list of what your muse chooses to participate in, and their times/values (for example: i would have devin “sign up” for the hot dog eating contest and say he ate 5 of them; keely could “sign up” for a hula hooping competition and last 2 minutes and 43 seconds). whoever submits the highest values by chance wins, and their team receives a point. winners of team sports (tug of war, relay races, etc.) will be randomly generated. winning team will be announced at end of event.
