Whooo, well now we have finally booked a trip to Disneyland Paris in October, I thought I'd indulge in the old right of passage by making my first DIY mouse ears- of one of my favourite Disney villains of course.
And not only mouse ears- light up mouse years!

I had it printed onto a tote bag - basically on something that I could cut up.
Some braiding, a bow - where I stashed the battery pack, and a couple of clear acrylic charms and craft gems from eBay.

OOAK Dr Facillier... well sorta, more of a re-body of that Resin hybrid doll-figure that came out several years ago, while a fantastic figure a few things I disliked about it, 1) it was very tall - larger than the rest of my doll collection, 2) limited articulation and being resin, very fragile- yes the head is still the resisn original, but it's incredibly well sculpted. It's also pretty heavy, so to attach it to the new body (a monster-high doll ) it had to be secured with a wire armature inside and glued and epoxy putty, so the head articulation is the only thing I had to sacrifice.
Another thing was the hands; the original hands were removed and now fitted with larger ones- I just had to use my mini drill to enlarge the holes for the connector pegs on the new hands to fit.
The clothes I re-used- just trimmed to size and made the shoes out of milliput by covering the plastic boots shoes of the monster high doll which it came with. The original shoes from the Dr. Facilier doll were now too big and I don't think I could attach them anyway.
The staff I made from a sawed-off paintbrush with a hole drilled in the top to insert the ball on top (a plastic berry from a Xmas wreath- as it had a stalk.
Finally, for his display case, I cut out some of his shadow friends from the other side out of black foam and stuck them to it.

My OOAK Frollo doll, start to finish...
Just thought I’d upload the entire process here; sorry if it seems repetitive of me, as I have posted pictures of this here before. It’s more so for my own record really, as it’s just super easy and convenient to put on multiple images onto one post here, or anyone who’s interested.
Please note this is for my newest version, I have made others in the past using different doll bodies, fabric and head sculpts- some turned out better, some not, but all part of the experimenting, construction process.
Body: A Monster High Deuce Gorgon doll. I chose this because of the good articulation, good hand sculpts and it is the right size body to fit my head sculpts. Had to just trim the head peg and stabilize it by wrapping some string coated in PVA glue around it, as the weight of the head makes it flop down otherwise. It doesn’t have as much head movement as it used to, but it does have a little.
In hindsight, one wonders if could be attached with magnets somehow, perhaps, but not sure. In the end it was attached with hot glue.
Head sculpts. I ended up using the one of the left. Made from super sculpey clay. The one on the right was originally on a different body, hence the different skin colour to match.
Purple trousers/Hose - made from purple stretch fabric- the same material used in swimwear.
I kept the top which came with the Monster High doll, as it has a nice brocade sort of pattern on it. I just dyed it purple, and made and attached the purple sleeves. Lets face it, no one knows wtf he wears under there,
Tricky part, the shoulder-piece.
Black velvet fabric with red braid /edging cord, and red ribbon stripes for the pauldron stripes. Back-piece of the purple stretch fabric. On the underside I made a pocket in which I inserted craft wire to hold the shape.
Finished with adding black cord around the edges to neaten it up, and glued on two red diamonds adhesive plastic craft jewels.
At this point I also made the white collar, the square shaped top sewn on. The circular base is so it stays in place. And also sort of resembles the collar and bib worn by nuns. Frollo Wasn’t a priest in the animated version that Disney did, but they sure sneaked in some clerical looking attire.
And Finally...
I has dagger too.

Haven't had a lot of time to colour it, so I went with a black and white old movie look. Hond characters as classic movie monsters. Quasi of course can be two at the same time! XD And as the Phantom. Phoebus is Frankenstein's monster, Esme is the wolfman- or wolf girl, in this case, Clopin, Dracula, and Frollo as the Mummy- I chose him as that because if you have ever watched Eerie Indiana, Tony Jay was in an episode of that- dressed a mummy.

Well October at last, time to ready the Halloween decor!
Got these from Amazon and eBay- - faceless ghost /hells messenger figures- they are made of resin and light up from the base as they are hollow inside- though I removed the light from the black one so I could shove in the tube from the tabletop fog machine.
The sculpt on the ghost is pretty good, but I changed the lanterns they are holding - the original lanterns they came with were, to be honest, cheap crap. So they had to go.
