Fandom: Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power  Pairing:  Halbrand x Galadriel, Sauron x Galadriel Rating: Explicit Word Count: 3.8k Chapters: 1
She turns the blade towards him. She has to know, she is one foot dangling off the ledge, betrayal opening up that yawning chasm beneath her, and his eyes eat her whole, green of the old forest or blue like his facsimile of her brother, the way his gaze flickers down to her mouth and her neck and back up again, lazy, slow, indulgent, as if they had but all the time in the world.

There King Finrod Felagund, hastening from the south, was cut off from his people and surrounded with small company in the Fen of Serech; and he would have been slain or taken, but Barahir came up with the bravest of his men and rescued him, and made a wall of spears about him; and they cut their way out of the battle with great loss.

Thus all seemed well with the fortunes of Maeglin, who had risen to be mighty among the princes of the Noldor, and greatest save one in the most renowned of their realms.

But most of all Finduilas the daughter of Orodreth found her heart moved whenever he came near, or was in hall. She was golden-haired after the manner of the house of Finarfin, and Túrin began to take pleasure in the sight of her and in her company; for she reminded him of his kindred and the women of Dor-lómin in his father's house.

Finwë was King of the Noldor. The sons of Finwë were Fëanor, and Fingolfin, and Finarfin; but the mother of Fëanor was Míriel Serindë, whereas the mother of Fingolfin and Finarfin was Indis of the Vanyar.
...
Finwe had four children by Indis: a daughter Findis, a son, a daughter Irime, and a son... Findis was made by combining the names of her parents... His second daughter was named Irien and her mother-name was Lalwende... By this name, or in shortened form Lalwen, she was generally known.

in conclusion? celegorm fucks.
Ok so I tried seeing what it would be like reconciling Silmarillion drafts.
just–
Look at this mess:
Feanor, who bares no relation whatsoever to the royal family, leads the Gnomes to Broseliand to fight Melko, then drowns in Lake Mithrim right before the battle starts. This battle, of course, is the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. Just before it, the leader Maedhros Feanor’s son is rescued from Thangorodrim by his close friend Amrod Aegnor son of Turgon – the King of Gondolin, just in case you thought Fingolfin was called Turgon at the time. No, this is in fact the Turgon we know (an ardent supporter of Feanor, who helped burn the Teleri’s ships).
Fingon, father of Turgon, also known as Finwe, dies in the battle.
So Aegnor’s son, Maglor, flees the battle to Rodnor, the capital of Doriath, and there falls in love with Luthien daughter of Celegorm.
Luthien has two brothers: Daeron and Tinfang. Tinfang has a glowing beard. Yes, Celegorm is married to Melian (A scion of Ungoliant). Luthien is blonde.
Celegorm asks of Maglor for a Silmaril. Maglor goes to Nargothrond, as there the King dwells who was saved by his father Aegnor in the battle, so he goes to repay the debt.
That king, of course, and the founder of Nargothrond, is Celegorm, Amrod (Aegnor)’s brother.
Celegorm’s sons Haleth (yes, male) and Haldir won great renown in that battle, btw, but his daughter Galadriel did not.
Celegorm aids Maglor, and sends him with a guard of the most valiant Gnomes, but his wish to add more help is thwarted by the evil son of Feanor.
I think you know what his name is.
So Maglor gets captured by Melko, who has an ogre wife Ulbandi and son Gothmog. Melko makes him scrub the kitchens of his greatest servant, the Cat-lord Sauron. Maglor is rescued by Luthien, who, it turns out, has the powers of a vampire. Sauron, the cat, drops a mountain on top of Gothmog to let the Elves escape Angband. They don’t belong there! That’s where Nienna sends Men after they die!
Next comes Dior. He’s the son of Celegorm and Aegnor’s cousin Morwen. He has a sister called Nienor. What, you thought that he would be Maglor and Luthien’s son? Nope, that’s Gil-Galad.
He goes to Nargothrond and falls in love with the King’s daughter, Galadriel. But she’s already engaged to her first cousin, Teleporno.
Nargothrond falls. Dior retakes Dor-lomin then marries his sister Nienor. He then becomes King of Doriath. The Sons of Feanor attack him, seeking for the Silmaril.
Aegnor/Amrod dies in the wild searching for the sons of Dior, Elured and Elurin. Curufin and Amras survive, killing Dior. Maedhros is abandoned.
Dior and Nienor become Valar.
When Elwing jumps into the sea with the Silmaril, there is no grace to save her. She dies, and the gem is lost.
When Earendil (yes he’s the son of Tuor and Idril: don’t worry) gets to Valinor, the Host of the Valar have already left. Idril is stranded in a tower, and he doesn’t recognise her. She sleeps until the breaking of the World.
Maglor manages to convince Maedhros to attack the camp of the Valar, but sneaks off, leaving Maedhros to be captured. Though they do not torture him, the torment Maedhros feels drives him to suicide, leaping into a chasm of fire. Before doing so, he returns the gem to Fionwe, son of Manwe, who gives it to Earendil to guide the Earth and give hope to its inhabitants.
Maglor casts his Silmaril into the fire, and wanders the shore, singing in regret, until he gives up and goes back to live with Elrond, the King of Numenor.
Like, the fuck?
