Our Music Can Be Had For Free
Something we wanted to call attention to, just in case you've heard one of our songs and enjoyed it and wanted to have a copy but don't have the money to buy one:
Every single thing we've released can be had digitally via Bandcamp for free.
We've made sure that this is available for you, because we've never wanted that to be a barrier to the art we make as The Crystal Furs.
On our releases, you'll see the following when you go to the listing:
Tumblr media
When you click on "Buy Digital Album," you'll note there is no minimum - you can put in 0, and get a free download. No strings attached, fully endorsed by the band. We just want you to hear and enjoy what we make.
Tumblr media
If you can pay? Super! We won't stop you, for sure! But you don't have to.
In addition:
All our music is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial license.
Tumblr media
Basically, that means that if you want to use our music in something - a video, a remix, a game, whatever - you're free to do so as long as you attribute it to us and are also releasing your work noncommercially.
(If you want to use it in a commercial product? Let us know! We are super easy to work with and for small creators we are not gonna be hard to afford!)

Very very excited that WE’RE ON A VIDEO GAME CARTRIDGE?!?!
You may remember that our queer rights song “Burn Us Down” was on the soundtrack for indie game Princess Farmer. Well, Limited Run is putting out a physical version!
We never thought we’d be on a game cartridge - talk about a dream come true!
(Also, if you've got a video game, visual novel, or other work that needs music of our style, please do reach out to us here or at [email protected] - we would love to get our tunes into your project!)

I love to see posts going around shitting on Robert Moses, because Robert Moses was an awful racist POS who screwed over American city planning for decades and he deserves to be a public bathroom.
The level of my distaste for him is so strong that we wrote a song about how much he sucks, as part of our career-long effort to will into existence the genre “city planning rock”

It just occurred to me (Kara, OG founding member) that 2024 is the Crystal Furs' ninth anniversary. 2025 will be TEN YEARS. 😳
Here's to many more years of being that band some folks kind of know!

Heya um this was on KEXP last night?!?!
Tumblr media
What is even happening 😅
Thanks to DJ Kennedy Quille for having us on Audioasis last night!
Our English "Snow Halation" Cover!
For the winter this year, we wanted to try something different. Since we've secretly (or not-so-secretly if you follow our personal blogs) been Love Live! fans this whole time, we decided to turn our efforts toward the most legendary song in the Love Live catalog: Snow Halation, by µ's.
So we rewrote it as an English-language song and performed it with a Pacific Northwest garage rock style in our home bedroom studio, as is our way. It's a new take on a classic song, but one we tried to keep true to the original in spirit.
Please enjoy it with your holiday nog products this year, or at any time of year you so desire.
Featuring:
@nothing2seehere420 - guitar, lead vocals
@niconicorose - Farfisa and Hammond organs, electric piano, drum sequencing, tambourine, sleigh bells, backing vocals, English lyrics composition
@etrianodysseyobsession-hd - bass guitar, backing vocals, audio engineering, mixing, mastering
Find it on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp

We wanted to do something fun for Pride Month 2023 while we work on new songs, so we recorded a cover of Electric Six's "Gay Bar" for your listening enjoyment. Check it out!

I wanted to add something: all of our music is released on Bandcamp under a Creative Commons license. Specifically, you can share and remix our songs, provided you 1. give us proper attribution/credit, 2. the work you make with them is noncommercial, and 3. is released under the same license.
