Tikra Tara [they/them]
Gnoll Sorcerer, Clockwork Soul
Magical anomalies can be found anywhere. One day, a hyper-intelligent gnoll with mechanical implants just emerged from a cave, and the rest is history.
Imbued with a vestige of the powers of Universal Absolutes, Tikra is a prodigious sorcerer and pathological liar. Though, sometimes, the little white lies suddenly become reality.
"Am I wrong??"
tick... tock... tick...
"...are you sure??"
[I'm using the playable Gnoll options from this GM Binder article!]
[For those just joining us, I made a list of D&D ocs with one based on each playable class, including Artificer and Blood Hunter (14 total). Then, I decided to make a second set. As of typing this, I'm close to finishing a third set, bringing the total oc count for this list up to F O R T Y - T W O (42). Someone Help]

Raula Datheros [she/her]
High Elf Warlock, Pact of the Dao
Until just recently, Raula was an unassuming bartender who wasn't being paid what she was worth. Then, one day, a fugitive Genasi warlock stumbled into her tavern, demanding asylum. Raula looked around for the tavern keeper, who was nowhere to be found. Before she could make the decision for herself, the warlock's pursuers appeared. W̴͈͔̜̿e̷͚̝̚͠ ̸͍̓w̴̧̳̏̉͘͜o̷͙̼͚̒͐̂ň̶̻'̵̝͐ț̵̨̅̓̊ ̴̢̿̄g̶͍̘̝̉͐e̷͈͉͆̓̆ṭ̵̛͉͑͝ ̵̧̗̤̓̏́ǐ̷̘̀͑n̵̛͈͑̕t̶̨̒ô̸̧̻̭̏ ̶̗̺̌w̵̛͕͙̺͆̐h̷̡̒̋̚ȁ̸̡͎̱̽̈́t̸̢̘̀͛́ ̶͕̈͝t̶̢͗̔h̸̛̥̩ͅȩ̶͓̈͠ÿ̷̲̘̳́̍͝ ̶̳͖̯̃̇̋w̶͇̩͑͊͛͜e̵͍͇̔r̵̙͑͗ĕ̷̻͚͊.
The warlock was killed in moments, his belongings scattering across the floor of a sleepy tavern that now was very much awake. As the patrons fled, Raula stood frozen behind the bar, gripped with terror as she stared into h̷̩͈̱͌̂̐̽a̸̠͑̋͐̇l̶̗̈́f̷̜̗͙̆̄̈ͅ-̴̤̞̹͋͊l̶̫̬̲͂͗̓̇ỉ̷̯̭̉v̵̩̂i̸̪͗n̴̛̯̍͝g̴̣̩̰̪̋ ̸̧̹͇̆̂e̵̛͈̦̣̹y̸̬͈̎̾ĕ̷͖̪͑͆̋s̵̩̾̽.̶͇̳̱̇͐́͘ At that moment, a voice called out to her. It captured her attention just long enough for her to seek it out; her eyes darted to the floor next to her, where now rested a large, curved longsword. Its blade was made of stone, and widened at the tip like a pickaxe. It spoke to her in a language that she didn't yet understand, but she looked back to the pursuers engulfing the door and knew that all she could do was fight. Having only ever used a sword as a teenager in an ill-fated summer training to be a town guard, Raula was unquestionably well-equipped to wield something that weighed nearly as much as her as she struggled to lift it from the ground. The o̵̬͚̓̔͐p̶͔̞̯͚̑p̷͑̄̆͜r̵̢͉̾̑e̷̖̤̊̅̿̍s̴̝̰̮̊s̸̗̔̅̅̇ͅo̵͇͠r̶̝̼̦͓̀͑́͠s̷̬̬̒ began to advance, and Raula's adrenaline kicked in. Whether it was a fluke of inertia, or some newfound strength, she suddenly wrenched the blade from the floor and swung it in a wide arc, releasing a wave of flaming green energy that cleaved through the front of the building, and instantly routed the intruders.
Raula was celebrated by the clientele that didn't have a chance to dive out a window, and she was subsequently fired for destroying company property and "bringing an eldritch artifact onto the premises." She wasn't that concerned, though; the blade had her attention now, and the creature, while clearly frightened, also had proven to be immensely powerful. Raula had heard stories about the things she'd faced that night, and knew that it was likely that they would be back for her. So, she left town in search for help.
Through her meeting with some of her new companions, Raula learned that the creature within the sword was a young version of an incredibly powerful Elemental - a Dao (or earth genie) - that must have been bound to the blade through some kind of ritual. As she does her best to communicate with the Dao and maintain the blade, Raula has found that it's growing lighter and lighter, and that has started granting her other, more sinister conveniences.
[Can you believe to learn that she's not a hexblade???]

Blaze Nightengale [he/him]
Tiefling Paladin, Oath of Conquest
Everybody pokes fun at Blaze. He's fully like, one of the best fighters around, but despite being incredibly powerful, I mean, look at him. He's cute as a button. Doesn't help him either that he's easily flustered.
[I have no lore yet for Blaze he's just baby]

Abel Twelve Peaks [he/him]
Loxodon Fighter, Psi-Warrior
An exiled warrior from distant lands, Abel Twelve Peaks is a powerful, stoic loxodon with with a booming voice that belies his peaceful demeanor. He rarely raises a blade to solve a problem, but when he feels he must, he will bend gravity and the minds of his foes to his will, distorting the battlefield to put him in ultimate control. In his day-to-day, however, Abel is a gentle giant who excels in his warmness, soothing tensions among his peers and sharing in the joys of their revelry...
...all this is to say: Abel is a fearsome fighter wise beyond his years and a beloved compatriot, but where exactly he came from is a mystery. He refuses to answer any questions about his past, and does so with a grave, intimidating tone. It seems as though he wants to leave that past behind, and as long as it doesn't come knocking, folks aren't quick to complain.
[when you make a elephant man whos also kinda a babygirl]

Nefesh [They/Them]
Warforged Cleric, Trickster Domain
So what if warforged, but like a ragdoll plush instead of a robor
They can craft and replace their own body parts as the need arises, and their personality can be defined as the entire cast of Skullgirls I think
[I just don't have big long lore posts for some of these, I just love Nef's design and I wanna share them without figuring out what their deal is first]

Griffin Tareka [she/her]
Yuan-ti Pureblood Wizard, School of Divination
Griffin has the market cornered on the Cartoon Villain aesthetic and, to a degree, the mindset too. She's incredibly ambitious, hungry for power, and always prying and prodding at any well-kept secret. She's likely hanging around these parts because she's on the run or in debt to a more powerful criminal.
Griff's always looking out for numero uno, but she's got a soft spot for innocent, kind, capable people.

Ogel Bhuthellor [he/him]
Vedalken Rogue, Phantom
Having served for over a decade as a custodian for various extraplanar facilities, Ogel is used to going unseen by the masses. His fellow workers, however, only had good things to say about him. He helped found a union on nearly every station he worked on, much to the chagrin of the management. Ogel would love to say the work paid well, but the benefits had run dry a long time ago, and so he eventually - begrudgingly - switched jobs. He left his final job at a particularly deadly mining rig and traveled to the material plane.
Now jaded by his years of thankless work, Ogel began to dabble in criminal work. He excelled as a lookout for other criminals, despite his sensitivity to sunlight and initial difficulties with depth perception. However, once he managed to pilfer a magic set of optics, his eyesight became near-perfect at up to a full kilometer, earning him the nickname "Eyeball" among his teammates for his indispensable spotting skills.
It is said that that old rig, where Ogel spent his last "honest" hours as a worker, holds the souls of those caught within its infernal engines. Those rumors stuck with Ogel, as did the whispers he thought he'd only imagined hearing during his late shifts. Cruel moments in the lives of dead laborers cling to Ogel and his revolutionary spirit, demanding he seek vengeance for the injustices of bosses and bureaucrats.
Now, having fallen in with a ragtag band of rebel adventurers, Ogel's feral eagerness to spill blue blood is veiled behind his smooth, deep voice and cool demeanor.
[So Ogel isn't like a straight up Vedalken, obviously, I'm just using the gameplay stats and such. I'll probably come up with a name for this species eventually. The ethos is kinda like, taking bits and pieces from the designs of the Cloaker and Roper monsters. I like the idea that maybe this species of humanoid is native to the Underdark (or some equivalent). They might even have some relation to beholderkin or something.]

Kanchana Yado [she/her]
Fire Genasi Barbarian, Path of the Zealot
A professional pit fighter by trade, 'Chana is both a fierce fighter and a beloved performer. While her jovial but respectful approach to mutual combat is scorned by her fellow adventurers, those concerns are snuffed out he moment she turns up the heat. Harnessing her personal devotion to the Sparring Gods*, 'Chana can catapult herself headlong into a fiery battle-trance that empowers her abilities. The moment she knows that lives are on the line, the boisterous showmanship and playful taunts turn to silent, focused destruction. The spectacle becomes not a performance, but an elementally charged beatdown that'll leave even the biggest foes smoldering.
[something something mommy sorry]
*I'm fully making up deities in these to develop later, I like the concept of a deity that's basically just a bunch of big strong divine beings beating the shit out of each other.

Angelos Nightengale [they/them]
Tiefling Monk, Way of Mercy
Born with enchanted blood and a cool disposition, Angelos is a very intimidating person at face value. Learning from many mentors that have come and gone, Angelos has honed control of the power in their blood to bestow good health on their allies, and grave harm on their enemies. Coupled with intimate knowledge of unarmed combat thanks to their Paladin brother Blaze, Angelos is a fierce martial artist whose clawed hands quickly become the stuff of nightmares to any creature they disagree with.
Despite their aloof exterior, Angelos doesn't give off an air of superiority. Their impenetrable confidence seems to come from somewhere genuine, loving, and curious.
On the side, Angelos practices the upright bass and frequents the smokiest, most exclusive taverns in the local area.
[The formatting on this second set is all over the place, I literally drew this like last year don't look at me lmao]

Harv Greymoor [he/him]
Pallid Elf Druid, Circle of the Moon
Not much is known, nor can be said, about Harv Greymoor. He grew up unglamorously in high elven society, worked as a magic college's groundskeeper for a few hundred years, and retired early with a nest-egg that ran out WAY more quickly than he expected. In an effort to sustain a bohemian lifestyle, Harv now works security on wagon trains and airships. One could take a look at this spindly, scruffy, pale elf and assume him harmless, but as it turns out, this guy's been living out in the wilderness and getting so in tune with nature that he has a direct line to some kind of moon deity. So now I guess he can just kinda turn into animals and cast spells. He thinks it's neat. These abilities come in handy for his clients, which means it keeps ample food on the table for Harv. Which is good, because his appetite has grown significantly with his powers. I'm sure that's not indicative of anything foreboding.

"Owlin" Ranger, Beast Master (revised)
(Sybil is sort of a weird case in terms of D&D species, I'm just using the Owlin species as a jumping-off point for her gameplay.)
Sybil has little recollection of where she came from. She simply appeared on an artificer's doorstep as a baby one night, half-blind and terribly injured. The artificer raised her and nursed her back to health, helping her retain the mobility and senses she otherwise would have lost from her injuries. With reinforced bones, improved sight, and a bit of telepathy to assist her speech, Sybil uses her augments to safeguard the forest surrounding her mentor's workshop. Occasionally, though, she likes to fly to nearby towns and socialize. Everybody likes Sybil. She's a good-natured prankster and leads a surprisingly tumultuous love life. The townspeople are all just thankful that the guns hidden inside her legs only come out for monsters.

Jarec V'nindu [he/him]
Githyanki Blood Hunter, Order of the Ghostslayer
Jarec was a fresh face amongst the ranks of the Githyanki's interdimensional crusade, and he learned pretty quickly that his heart just wasn't in it. He chose to slip away from his post one day in the Shadowfell and ducked through a portal into the material plane, but it seems as though he may have brought something unsavory along with him. Whether it be through consequence or a seized opportunity, some otherworldly force snuck its way into Jarec's bloodstream and now periodically gives him glimpses into the space between the planes. Through this strange ability, Jarec has learned how to communicate with the dead and track souls that refuse to go gently into the beyond. He, however, isn't terribly interested in the quarrels of fading spirits. He's found another benefit of the curse; a current of powerful radiant energy runs through his veins, which he can harness to empower his abilities in combat. A born mercenary, Jarec is always on the search for loot, glory, and ways to sustain his lust for adventure. At least he's pointed in the right direction. For now.

Sammi Silvertongue [any pronouns]
Hill Dwarf Bard, College of Eloquence
In any given town where revolution is brewing, you may hear the name "Silvertongue" spoken, and tales of a powerful family of dwarves who find themselves at the right place and the right time to foster change and fight any oppressor. Whether it be through actions or words, the Silvertongues have a penchant for toppling tyrants and destroying corrupt regimes from the inside out. The youngest of this line of upstarts, Sammi expresses their performative and inspirational talents through slam poetry, cooking up a rhythmic verbal cadence that carries the beat of the world around them. Sammi is incredibly observant, gathering information on their surroundings constantly. Often, it's simply to build up a vocabulary in case something calls for a quick stanza, but this methodical perception also keeps Sammi present and ever on the lookout for the next opportunity to make a difference. Sammi is a prodigious diplomat able to both soothe potential foes and rally hesitant allies, making them a much-sought-after public speaker for groups on both sides of the law.

AND SO set two of D&D ocs based on each playable class begins.
Dakka Noregh [she/her] Kobold Artificer, Alchemist
Dakka used to be the servant of a tyrannical white dragon, until a band of adventurers slew it in its mountain lair. Ever the opportunist, Dakka groveled at their feet to spare her, and in exchange, she'd provide them her services as an alchemist. They agreed, and as it turns out, those adventurers ended up founding their own guild and regularly do business with Dakka! The only problem is that those particular adventurers aren't exactly the best people to be indebted to. For life. When Dakka couldn't split the price of renting a new alchemical shop with the cost of supplies needed for the guild's orders, she tried to bargain with the guild to cut her a break. As it turned out, however, they were already planning to replace her with a new alchemist without giving her any notice. She wasn't exactly happy about that, and may or may not have thrown a flask of acid directly onto the new alchemist's face. Now, with dozens of freelance murderers at her heels, Dakka frantically searches for kinder murderers to surround herself with, and to make some money on the side making potions. Her newest invention is a hair growth potion, which she tested on herself as you can see.
