Yes! We are definitely still open. I’ve just changed jobs recently with going from 1st shift to 3rds and am still working on getting our promos caught up again but we do have daily posts from players and active discord chat!

Slowly working on a holiday/celebration list as player votes indicated a desire for unique holidays for our universe! I have a few worked on that I think players will really love but they can also submit their own via discord. leo goes by he/him in the sight of most people. Unless wearing women’s garments then prefers she/her, however that is something reserved for a small group.  he is from the small isle of daeven off the coast of withermore and serves the withermore court.  although leo appears to be thirty-six, he is actually sixty-two.

Off the coast of Withmore there lies a small island Daeven that is inhabited by mostly fae creatures with their own customs and even small royal courts such as the Summer Court with the seelie faes and the Winter Court with the unseelie faes. Both courts serve the Court of Light and Dark. On this hidden island glamoured to keep most creatures away, lives the Dawson family that stretched generations as habitants of the isle. The Dawsons were well known, they were one of the poorer families of the island that always had many offspring.

In Leo’s immediate family, there were twelve children all together. Leo and his twin brother were smacked right in between all the siblings. Although a loving and nurturing family, as Leo grew up often feeling overlooked he became bitter about his family’s station in life and decided to do something about it. For decades in his youth, he would read and travel the different continents building different connections all over the world and picking up different masteries in the arts, sword and other skill sets.

Eventually, it all paid off when he ended up in the Court of Light and Dark. At first, it was a small invitation to join in one of the balls. However, he made an everlasting appearance that gained favor with the royal family and he started to be invited more and more. During this time, he managed to create a bond with the Prince of the Court of Light and Dark and became a friend to the man. Over the next decade, the Prince would come to Leo for advice and lessons on the many things he had learned during his travels. And when the Prince’s father died and became King, he named Leo as the Royal Advisor.

Since becoming the Royal Advisor, the politics of the inner courts have been difficult to navigate, but the fae manages to keep his title while using his persuasion on the King to guide the country in the way he sees fit.

WHAT ARE YOU...?

species: unseelie fae. weaknesses: iron, it is poisonous to his fae kind, salt circle, it can create a trap for his fae kind rendering their magic useless if trapped, mortal. strengths: is fae with wings and is capable of flying, possesses glamor and is able to change his appearance between fae creature and human for mortals. has some magical abilities such as persuasion, this is limited and can only persuade but not fully change someone’s mind. also, in the dawson fae family everyone possesses some kind of magic to do with nature/elements, for leo, it is water/ice. physical description: leo is six feet tall with a slender build, piercing blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. the fae has a set of wings that he hides well with his glamor that drop down to the floor along with a small set of horns, which he also uses glamor to hide. leo sports several piercings in his ears and other hidden places. additional info: none.

asvari is a refugee of war and being at the wrong place at the wrong time, fleeing to destarin after an accidental struggle with a cult of magicians left him branded as the enemy. His creativity and endurance are the main reason why he’s made it to be thirty-four, while having no idea what happened to those left of his family and town. All he wishes is to live in safety. He is a trans-man and answers to he/him.

Asvari was born in the wrong body and in the wrong town. Withermore has its fringes, small towns and scattered hubs for those who don’t have a place in the bigger cities. Border skirmishes are always happening one way or another, and help is always too late. He was five when his town was attacked, the men were all killed, while the women who survived found themselves bound and led away, to be sold for profit over the border. Asvari was saved from the slaughter because he didn’t look how he felt. He and his grandmother managed to escape their capture because of the cunning of a few of the other women, and they fled into the woods.

For years the women attempted to rebuild a life, though heavily reliant on the Illusion magic mastered by Asvari’s grandmother, and his own growing power. Whenever he left the house, he looked like a boy. He managed jobs and feats that were often taken away from the women. The two of them created a ruse that kept people away. Very few were allowed in their trust. Because those who destroyed their town were still out there, and the women lived in constant fear that they might return.

Asvari meanwhile managed to master his skill. His grandmother had told him that their skill was only given to the women in their family, and that the only limitations were one’s endurance and creativity. As long as Asvari nurtured those, he would be capable of tricking people. But to him, it only sounded like he would never truly be a boy. He’d only ever be able to trick people into thinking it. And he was good at it, he was out for hours, and all those hours he kept up the illusion. But he grew wary of it, it wasn’t enough.

He found a witch who could make the illusion reality. For a price, but one that was worth it. She altered him, took hours to get his illusions just right, then told him to rest there in her home until he felt strong again. Which is when things got messy. Another one of the witch’s patrons appeared, scared, bloody, requesting aid. A small cult was after her, magicians with wrong intentions, with beliefs that had gotten muddled and twisted by dark magic. Asvari and the witch offered their help, it was through illusions that they managed to escape, but they both got hurt. The witch didn’t survive, and Asvari could barely walk. The patron brought him to safety, made sure he was looked after, and then disappeared, hoping to lure the cult away from him too. Not aware that the wound inflicted had branded him.

Asvari remained safe for a few days before he had to flee again, chased out of the town he was staying in, finding himself at a royal’s court, where he used his illusions to claim their safety, by pretending to be an artisan apprentice. He didn’t lack the creativity to do so, merely the skill. Almost everything he created within his first few weeks were only illusions, held together by his endurance, until they unravelled. He began to pick up actual skills on the job, even if they were nowhere near as good as what he envisioned. It kept him from leaving the safety of the court. Protected - yet also distrusted - by the court magicians. And he fell in love, with none less than the princess of the court. A love that wasn’t meant to last, because he knew there would come an end to this good thing. A moment where he was once again thrust into danger and forced to flee.

When he was finally found out, Asvari used his illusions once more to create a way out. Faking his own death into the icy waters of a nearby river, while he began his long trek to new opportunities. Landing several months later, in the town of Destarin.

WHAT ARE YOU...?

species: witch of illusions/illusionist. weaknesses: mortal, anything that makes him lose a clear mind (smoke, drugs, lack of sleep). strengths: illusion magic, the ability to convince the minds of others that things are there that aren’t there (this includes all the five senses). physical description: witches of Illusion who aren’t part of any coven aren’t easy to pick out of the crowd. they seem to vibrate slightly when practising their magic, though this is something with time they can learn to control and lighten.. additional info: witches of Illusions are unable to generate any other kind of magic, more often referred to as Illusionists, they have a particular ability to make another mind believe a lie they created, but only as long as they are sound of mind. This ability is only given to the afab members of a line, and sometimes skip a generation.

I’m super interested in applying for a demon but i’d love to know more on how you interpret the species?

All species can be interpreted by the player! Differences from one players version to another would be about lineage and origin, so two demons could easily be vastly different, that’s sort of the idea of the group. So everyone can explore a character that has the concept design that gives them the most inspiration.

I’d love to see a sort of cambion/devil D&D style demon that loves rules and law to utilize for their own gain, real lawful evil, or even an incubi/succubi Jennifer’s Body style demon where they maybe were once something else and now are part entity due to some ritual. They could be from a version of hell akin to Dante’s Inferno, or a constructed plane of your own vision, whatever fits your vision and goals. I know we have some people who love Helluva Boss so an assassin demon seems like it could be fun! In terms of powers I’m sure extraplanar travel, flight, mental/mood manipulation, and essence draining could be interesting concepts with weaknesses like being unable to enter holy grounds, can be controlled by stronger demons, or needing to feed some specific way could be fun!

Thank you to all our players this first week, I have loved seeing everyone both on the dash and in the discord excited about their characters, connections and the future of the group. At the end of this approaching week I'll have a poll in the discord for how everyone would like events/plots to move forward in the group, and as always everyone is welcome to send suggestions for anything they'd like to see.

CHARACTER FOR: Yazi TYPE OF CONNECTION: His Witch. SUGGESTIONS: a witch, 25-35 years old, gender utp, fc of colour preferred. DESCRIPTION: Yazi and his Witch met when Yazi was eleven and his witch was a few years older. They thought Yazi, who was still a dragon-like crocodile creature at that point, was in trouble, so they changed his shape and turned him into a Dragon, then they chased the hunters who were attacking Yazi away. Since then, Yazi has been in his witch's company. It wasn't entirely his choice to become a Witch's familiar, but after a decade, he's certainly become inseparable from them - though he'll gladly make jokes about wanting to chuck them in the sea. They're generally happy and expressive, optimistic where Yazi is pessimistic, and can turn people and objects into another shape. They're a ray of sunshine, looking on the bright-side of things, wanting to go out on adventures and meet new people. And drag Yazi along. Do they need to reach out to you? Yes. @pandokofswamp

while in actuality, yazi is a pandok (a dragon-like crocodile creature who lives in swamps), a witch turned him into a shapeshifter when they thought he needed it - they disagree on this constantly. as a result he’s attached to them at the hip, travelling with them to destarin and walking around in human form. he identifies as masculine, but calling him ‘man’ is just an insult because obviously he’s a pandok. 

Pandoks live in the swamps of Withermore, a race of dragon-like crocodile creatures that have the ability to fly but most often swim around looking for prey. There aren’t a lot of them, but there are plenty that are the size of a small car. Not Yazi, he was a young Pandok when he got into a fight with some hunters, perhaps one and ten, he’d been roaming the swamp by himself already, eager to prove that he could hunt on his own.

A witch who happened to be in the area attempted to help him, they weren’t the most powerful witch, but they were powerful in one regard: they could shift other people’s shapes. So when they saw Yazi struggling, they turned him into an actual dragon. He was confused, but still managed to chase off the hunters, and began thrashing around, confused as he didn’t recognise his own body anymore.

The witch then turned him into a human, which was perhaps the worst, deciding that he owed them because they’d saved his life - which he very much disagreed with, and often turns into an argument whenever they talk about it. But Yazi didn’t really have a choice, because he didn’t want to be a human at all, and this witch decided when and when not he could change. As a result: he was a human most of the time, helped his witch out of some scrapes, and travelled with them all over the continent for a decade until settling in Destarin. They figured he was used to it by now, and that he was happy to be walking on two feet, discovering the world. Meanwhile any chance he got to be a Pandok, he’d be swimming in the sea. And he’d be swimming away if he could.

species: pandok witch familiar. weaknesses: mortal, his witch dying without putting him back in his original form. strengths: as a familiar, can shapeshift on command of his witch, as a pandok, can fly, breathe fire, and swim really really fast. physical description: as a familiar, yazi has some hints of his pandok form in his human form, scales on their neck and back, sharper teeth, and more slitted eyes, as a pandok, yazi is a crocodile, but bigger than one, with wings sprouting from his back and longer legs, more akin to dinosaurs and dragons. additional info: pandoks are nearly extinct, though the only thing keeping them from going all the way is the fact that they can get very old (200 years), and they keep on growing. so the oldest pandoks are huge and nobody dares to come near one.

Hiya! I have an FC in mind but her GUFS are from when she was younger. Would I be able to age down the chara (still much above 18) to suit those resources?

Definitely! So long as the resources and the character themselves are from when they are an adult you can age a character lower than the faceclaim presently is.

Working on queuing promos so I will be around the main for a while now! Please check us out if you're interested in an open species fantasy RP. Our design is so players get to experience writing a character with the strengths and weaknesses of their own inspiration! We have only opened recently and have daily activity and excited players so would love to see more.

What is the time period?

The RP it set in a fictitious realm so has a fictitious time period similar to D&D, where the general idea is a medieval setting, however aesthetics and vernacular take from various time periods to align with the fantasy needs of the players. While I haven't created a formalised year for everyone to reference I'd be open to doing so for players.
