Imagine how much more convincing alien "sightings" would be if hoaxers actually worked with speculative biology artists..

Like every modern "sighting" that goes around the internet recently has been just the good ol' Gray alien trope, which is nothing more than an outdated misconception of extraterrestrial life(TLDR it stems from a view that assumes intelligent life HAS to be humanoid, which is horribly biased and wrong). This is the no.1 reason alien sightings are dismissed - you can tell it's obviously made by an average joe who still thinks aliens look like that outdated theory.

Imagine a spec bio artist gone rogue and decided to make a life sized CM-Kosemen-type alien puppet, then uses it as a hoax. Like sure, it's still misinformation but atleast it's actually convincing for once, and there's artistic skill and thought put into it. If you're gonna be a hoaxer, do your research!

Idk I have such a fascination with people who coddle and baby wild animals (or even domestic ones). Maybe it's not that deep but I think in some ways it does speak to a lack of maturity in empathy, which sounds counterintuitive but I think its not unlike some forms of unhealthy parenting. It's a cognitive disconnect that perhaps the way you'd like to be treated does not always translate to what others want or feel comfortable with. That maybe your reality is not universal, and an inability to place yourself in another's shoes. People hear low empathy and assume it means distant and unloving, but it can also look like lovebombing or over imposing oneself on others with a lack of boundaries. From the outside it can look loving and pampering and an incredible life, but do they ever really stop to try and get to know the other party, what it actually feels and wants? Are you doing what's best for it, or just what you think is best? Or worse, what you think makes you look best in front of others?

They call animal care professionals who ask for more restraint and less contact with said animals uncaring and cold because they honest to god cannot place themselves in a reality where a kindhearted hug could feel terrifying and a free donut could be horrible for one's survival. And I think information based arguments can fall short because they are primarily operating through emotions and what "feels" right to them. And I think some of these people may be drawn to animals and habituating wildlife because they won't ever tell them off in clean english. Idk it intrigues me

This reminds me of the time I came across a video with around 2M views on "comforting a dying rabbit". This random guy walked up to a clearly injured rabbit out in the woods, and started petting it non-stop. The rabbit had ears flat against its body, didn't move a single hair and was scrunched up - all signs of stress and fear.

All this happened while the guy was going "it's gonna be alright, buddy".

The comment section was chock full of "You're such a kind soul" and "We need more people like you".

Soon enough, the rabbit passed. In fear and stress, without a clear heart and mind. And the guy was seen as some "guardian of nature". Our human perception is messed up

The sun rises over Dimetrodon as it travels across the landscape of the Middle Permian, spotting Diplocaulus, Titanoptera, a speculative proto-archosauromorph, and Prionosuchus along the way.

An older design for a marine hunter on Chriirah: its long, slender vertical jaws allow it to slash at schools of sea-darts. It can cruise using its undulating lower fin, and is capable of sudden great bursts of speed with powerful pectoral find strokes.
