Reading the new version of Angels Before Man is an experience, I keep opening my old copy to see if the passage im reading was added or if i just dont remember it.

I'm being soooo serious when I say I literally CANNOT stop thinking about how you said Rosier and Asmodeus were originally going to be married. I'm in shambles. Please gift my poor little broken heart with some fun or cute Rosier/Asmodeus facts and/or moments 😭

AHjskd I'm sorry!! Revising has me thinking about all the original ideas that got scrapped or altered... (Fun fact: Rosier was originally gonna be strict and serious and kind of mean in ABM!!)

In A&M, there was originally going to be a plot point about the demons inventing marriage as a way to deal with conflicts associated sexual relationships and jealousy. So, marriage was for everyone to know that two demons are both "off limits" unless they get explicit permission from the married partner (if you wanted to sleep with Asmodeus, you would have to ask Rosier or risk going to demon court over it ajshdksa). And there was going to be a silly recurring joke where Baal kept trying to get Lucifer to marry him.

BUT, as funny as that all was, I thought it made way more sense for demons to view sex way more casually and to be more openly polygamous. marriage just didn't make sense for a lot of what i was doing

anyway, here is some Asmodeus and Rosier rambling with (maybe) mild spoilers:

Asmodeus and Rosier are still basically married though. And Asmodeus is pretty protective of Rosier. Sometimes Rosier goes out to wander the forest and Asmodeus will get stressed and go after him just to make sure Rosier is safe, but Rosier always notices he's being followed. And then Rosier will pretend to be offended and then they'll fake-fight and roll around on the forest floor and be really annoyingly cute with each other.

Rosier and Asmodeus have a fireplace in their bedroom, and i think they like to sit in front of it and be cozy all the time, also. i think Asmodeus will usually lay with his head on Rosier's lap (maybe grunting a little; he has a lot of chronic pain in this book) while Rosier embroiders and they listen to the crackle of the fire.

I keep thinking a lot about how Asmodeus is this big scary demon associated with lust and sex. And Rosier is this demon who's not any good at being a demon, and who experiences little to zero sexual attraction, and who only really likes intimate, romantic, gentle sex. I think it's pretty cute. Asmodeus could be with anyone else, easily; he could pair with someone who matches his sexual appetite and whose relationship with him isn't weighed down with all this traumatic baggage. But he likes Rosier, more than he likes anything else

Just revealed this to my friend but in the original Angels & Man outline, I was going to have the demons invent marriage and Rosier and Asmodeus were gonna be actually married, but it conflicted with something so i cut it... rip wife rosier

I've been reading Angels Before Man again and it has made me cry just as much as the first time. I think about Lucifer pretty often and the fate he's been saddled with, I figured he's due some righteous anger
