eight shows to get to know me~

1; Ted Lasso ;; this is a total feel good show; i'm horribly invested in such a short amount of time. my boo got me onto it while we were both feeling under the weather and now i'm hooked.

2; Elementary ;; this is one of my favourite versions of sherlock, i've had the biggest crush on lucy liu since forever and this simply solidified it.

3; 911 ;; i can't say i watch lone star a lot, so it's mostly just og that keeps my attention. i started because angela bassett is badass and i fell in love with the whole thing.

4; Leverage/Leverage: Redemption ;; i adore this show, i have done from the get go, and i do enjoy the reboot immensely. i miss nate's contribution to the dynamic for sure, but the addition of harry in the reboot is so fun too.

5; Criminal Minds/Criminal Minds: Evolution ;; okay so the run of the original cm was pretty intense, and the characters made it. and while i'm still a little undecided on the new streaming version, i do like the loosening of the topics given it's no longer on network tv. hopefully season 2 will continue the momentum.

6; The Mentalist ;; i'm probably giving a lot away about myself, but yeah, i'm kinda about serial killers/procedurals, and this one was pretty fun given it was about the illusion of psychics versus the application of behavioural analysis. the cast was super fun for when it was produced too.

7; Scream Queens ;; look. both seasons of this campy shit were the best. between emma roberts, joe jonas, keke palmer and neicy nash? fucking yes. throw in the epic of jaime lee curtis and it was mwah!

8; any and all true crime series or documentaries ;; i don't know if this is a cop out or not but basically all crime series, i will devour. to name a few specifically; the vow, the way down, the case against crosby, night stalker, outcry, the keepers, exhibit a, the trials of gabriel fernandez. that last one is particularly difficult to watch.

seven sentence sunday

tagged by the amazing @rogerzsteven, thank you lovely, and i've been plugging away at one of my bingo squares, so here's a snippet from my paramedic maddie au!

“What’s not to love, right Hen?” Howie jokes, although there’s a small smirk on his face that Maddie rolls her eyes at. “Oh, shoot. I’m gonna be late to pick up Tatiana.” The jovial smile on Hen’s face slips away, Maddie raising an eyebrow slightly.

“And where is the ladder bunny demanding to go now?” It’s pretty clear to everyone in the station that Howie is far too good for the woman he’s dating, that she’s looking for the stereotype firefighter boyfriend and doesn’t actually see the man she’s dating.

“Bluedrops, you know the—” Hen’s snort cuts off Howie’s answer, “Hen, c’mon, I gotta prove that I’m as cultured as she needs, that I can be more than just the brute strength she needs in a provider.” For the most part, Maddie has avoided giving her opinion on the relationships around her—mostly because she’s yet to fully trust her own judgement, but partially because she knows she wouldn’t be impartial on this matter.

But it feels too poignant a moment.

“Have you stopped to ask if she’s everything you need in a partner?” Maddie tries to stay nonchalant, checking her phone to see three texts from Evan before glancing at Howie, seeing the frown on his face. “I’m only asking because… Howie, you shouldn’t have to be the one proving anything, okay?” Hen’s suspiciously quiet as Maddie lays a gentle hand on the head paramedic’s shoulder, trying for comforting and guiding at the same time. “You’re a really great guy, Howie. She should be able to see that without you pulling out these grand gestures, and if she can’t…” Maddie shrugs, leaving that hanging for Howie.

A special treat for both eddie and buck girlies (gn) as my last prompt of my bthb card (don't worry, I already got my third card)

Something about both buck's and eddie's chronic pain

"Please, just a few steps." He begs his body to just hold on a little longer, his breath hitching in his throat and his voice coming out wet.

Buck takes in a deep breath and exhales, takes in another deep breath and exhales again, and tries again.

This time, by dragging his foot instead of walking.

His jaw clenches shut as he takes a step forward with his good foot and drags his other one, his hand supporting his thigh, and again, and again until he finally, finally reaches the beginning of the stairs. His damp shirt is sticking to his skin like a second layer, ghost pale face and neck glistening with tiny drops of sweat.

It all goes down when Buck holds the handrail and lands his good foot on the flight, and tries to shuffle his injured foot up.

His foot trips on the edge, making him lose his balance, Buck's legs give out and he falls on the stairs with a thud.

Buck's yelp echoes in the loft and his hands brace his calf, curling into himself and gripping so tight because fuck it hurts so much, his muscles are on fire like they are snapping and twisting, his bones burn as if they are getting crushed, gnawing pain spreading everywhere, hard flights dig his back like knives and he can't be that weak, he can feel tears forming in his eyes but no, he refuses to cry, Buck clenches his teeth and muffles the mewl catching his throat that's trying to find a way to come out.

He can't do it. He can't even walk, let alone go up.

Buck brings his shaking hand to his pocket and takes out his phone, and stares at Eddie's name for a good few seconds, but the more he looks at it, the more blurred the screen gets, and then a few drops splashes on his screen.
