Trapped

[My friend gave me this scenario so credits to her for the story line] This is so cringey btw so yeah...

It was a rainy day- which I thought was perfect because I love when it rains. We were in block 3, Physics with Mrs. Challen. The lesson wasn't all that interesting. If felt more like a study hall to be honest. I was working on an assignment for Mr. Baton when Mrs. Challen said something that caught my attention. “Leo and Nathan, can you go get two microscopes from my 6th grade classroom? I need to help Jacob with something.” Why me and Nathan? I thought. Kinda of a random pair considering that Mrs. Challen doesn't know that I like- CARTER. That little shit told her I like Nathan. Nathan was already getting up to leave the room so I had no choice but to just leave with him.

I follow him down the hallway to the 6th grade science room. There's no other students in there which is odd because usually high school students that are favorites of Mrs. Challen are in there as a study hall. Maybe they're just busy today. I went to the counter to grab the microscope just as Nathan was. I wrap my hand around the side of it and my heart stops. The lights turned off. I turn and look at the computer; the screen is off. Lightning must have hit a power box or a tree fell on the power lines. My heart stops again when I hear the door slam shut. That fucking auto lock! If the power goes out or if there’s a suspected intruder, the doors close themselves and lock until someone unlocks them. That means I’m stuck in here with Nathan for at least another hour.

Everything is super dark so I pull out my phone and turn on the flashlight. “You okay?” I ask, in case he was hit by the door or something. He gives me a nonchalant ‘yeah’ and pulls out a stool. “I’m gonna see if she has like a battery powered lamp somewhere.” He doesn't even say anything. Surprisingly I found a lamp under the teacher desk. Once I got it on I pointed it at the ceiling and there was a decent amount of light in the room. “So umm… we have to talk about something since we’ll be here a while.” I didn't want to talk but I didn't necessarily like the silence too much. Nathan looks up at me with a slight smile- almost smirk- on his face.

“Let's talk about what you wrote about me in english the other day.” He says raising his eyebrows.

“What are you talking about?” My face is starting to get hot. “I didn't write anything about you.”

“Yes you did. Don't lie. I’m not blind, Leo. I saw you hand your MacBook to Sarah and I read what you said about me. Is it true?”

“Nathan, I didn't mean for you to see that…”

“Is it true?”

“What do you mean ‘is it true?’ I don't remember what was in that document. Only the gist of it.”

“You know how you wrote about how you loved me and you wanted me to kiss you?” At this point he was starting to get up and walk towards me. “You remember now?”

“Yeah I remember that…” I turned around not wanting to face him. “Why were you looking at that. It’s rude to look at other peoples stuff.” I was starting to get shy and my voice was trailing off.

“So is it true?” I can sense his presence directly behind me. My heart is racing. I do not want to admit my feelings to this boy like this of all ways. Alright Leo… It’s okay you can do this. It's not that bad. I turn around and face him. He’s smiling. Nathan is smiling down at me. In the dim light I can see how pretty his brown eyes are. “Quit staring at me and tell me if it's tru or not I-”

He never got to finish that sentence because I crashed my lips into his and got and immediate response back. [Chillin’ Chillin’ by ITZY at 1:59-2:15 starts playing]

I couldn't believe this was happening. For once the universe was on my side. He pulls away from the kiss and goes to hug me. “You're so beauti-”, he didn't get to finish that sentence either because just then the door swung back open. We hear footsteps coming down the hallway and take a few steps away from each other. It’s still dark but someone must've alerted Mr. Maui about us being stuck in the classroom.

“Hello?” Someone has stepped through the door. “Nathan? Leo?” I look up to see Sophie. She has that look on her face that tells me I know she's going to make jokes about me liking Nathan later. Nathan and I acknowledge her and the three of us walk back to class in silence and darkness. I’ll tell Sophie about our little scene in the science room later but for now I just want to keep it to myself.
