Mandatory disclosure:
When taking photos of any animal be sure to maintain a proper distance between yourself and the animal, this applies to birds as well.
Getting too close can cause unnecessary stress for the animal which in some cases can lead to aggression.
All birds photographed here are given a respectful distance and I do not force any of these encounters with them. Any bird that appears particularly close did so of their own volition. Please do not force encounters via improper feedings (no bread PLEASE) or grabbing an animal, let the animal set their own boundaries for your safety and theirs.
**IF YOU ARE IN THE CHICAGO AREA AND COME ACROSS AN INJURED PIGEON**
Please contact The Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue they have a fantastic veterinary, rehabilitation, and foster team for these lovely birds. And you can also volunteer for their facility too

What animal looks like it would screm the loudest
the bare-throated bellbird is so loud that it can cause permanent damage to human hearing at close range!
and they absolutely look like it.
