Reblogging this yet again for the amazing addition made by @/achaziel. I didn't know this, mostly because I never actually heard of her, but it's important to make sure we're being respectful of everyone in our community and outside it. I definitely don't want to platform a transphobe so thank you for pointing this out
why would you be unsafe at pride
I'm going to assume this question is asked in good faith and with a genuine interest in my safety. I'm also going to be very direct and blunt.
Jewish people are being targeted and attacked worldwide. Not just in right-wing spaces, but also leftist spaces. And yes that includes Pride and queer related events. If I want to attend pride wearing my kippah and my magen david, there is a good chance I will have some unpleasant words thrown at me, at the very least. There is a chance I will be physically attacked and/or kicked out of the march.
I would recommend spending more time listening to Jewish people on their struggle with antisemitism in the present. I don't mean that as a snarky comment, I just think listening to minorities about their struggles is a crucial part of activism. Hope this answered your question! If you'd like to ask more questions, feel free to reach out again, either in my ask box or my DMs

I hope you're all able to be safe and enjoy yourselves.
Our shul doesn't get directly involved like that, despite being very accepting of queer people. I wish they did, I think it would be super cool, but I can understand why they don't

I'd love to have one too! I don't think I'd fly it at the march, at least yet, but I can always keep it in my room. And one day maybe it'll be safe to bring it to Pride.
I hope you eventually get one too

So pro tip that comes from absolutely no firsthand experience-
If you are surrounded by antisemetic protesters yelling for an intifada and for Zionists to kill themselves, and they’re closing in on you- start singing Daiyenu very loudly. Slap your knees, belt the words “Dai-Dai-Daiyenu! Dai-Dai-Daiyenu! Daiyenu!”
It’s very easy to get into that rythym, feel that happiness and strength and to make the crowd think you’re strong. Because you are strong. What G-d has given us, it’s enough.
Again - totally not firsthand experience whatsoever.

this is what jvp wrote in response to the butchered Hebrew. what a fucking joke.
Jews: "hey dude your Hebrew is written from left to right, you didn't even have the common sense to double check your spelling"
JVP: "umm actually it's Zionism's fault for forcing Hebrew on their Jews and erasing their real indigenous languages 🤡"
Jews: "you realise.... the seder plate.... is always written in Hebrew..... the language of the Torah.... and it has no connection to modern Hebrew whatsoever........ you literally just had to google a seder plate and copy the fucking words........"
and just to prove this takes 5 seconds to verify:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
not only can you find a reference on google images pretty easily, you can also look it up on shopping sites like amazon to guarantee photos of empty plates (since a lot of the photos on google had the food items on them).
it's not hard to verify this, this even shows up if you google "passover plate" in case you somehow don't know what a seder is, there's no excuse for making a mistake on the most important item on the fucking table.

This is EXACTLY how I feel, thank you Joy for being such an inspiration again
My soul is calling out for Hashem and noodles. I truly understand the angst of the Israelites as they left Egypt.

Antisemitism is absolutely a problem, that isn't up for debate. That said, I do think you should maybe self reflect and consider whether or not the reason you feel unsafe is because you personally support a regime that is murdering innocent Palestinians (many of whom are Jewish).
It sure seems up for debate when you tell me I'm just being paranoid when I express my concerns about it
The reason I feel unsafe is because I could be attacked. Just in case that wasn't clear
The fact people think that me being visibly Jewish, with a kippah and a star of david, means anything at all about my stance on I/P already says enough. That's antisemitism.
WHO ARE THESE ELLUSIVE JEWISH PALESTINIANS YOU KEEP MENTIONING?? You have no idea wtf you're talking about AND IT SHOWS.
If you want to talk further about this please come to my DMs directly because any further anon ask from you will be deleted, I don't entertain these types of discussion on my blog on anon.

This is a story about an angel named Alina, who made the world a more magical place. They say she was kind-hearted, had plans and dreams to help people on their life journeys. She found peace. She was happy when she went to the Nova festival with the love of her life, Yonatan. Yonatan got his first job, an important job at the Nova festival as the party photographer. When the terrorists entered the party area Alina spoke to her mother and told her that they were in a car and there were rockets being fired at them. At 8:30 she managed to call again and tell her, "I love you", and hung up. They had to abandon their vehicle - there was nothing left of it and Alina hid in a security trailer in the complex, along with a group of security guards and other people, some of whom were injured. Around 9 o'clock Alina sent a message to her brother that they were running from place to place and being shot at. Alina thought that the ambulance was a safe place and went to hide under it. But when the monsters discovered people inside it they fired an RPG. None of them had a chance and they were all burned alive. 24 difficult days passed until Alina was identified - her family received one earring and her bracelet burned and charred. Yonatan's body was found shot in the fields and his camera was not found. This is a story about Alina the angel. The kind-hearted Alina with the sparkling eyes. A story about the great evil that interrupted everything that Sabbath, about the evil that took Alina who will dance forever among the stars. Her spirit will shine above us forever.

So cute tho. Love the boots
this post is going to stay up forever, but I'm going to reblog this post with a picture of a funny cat I drew wearing big boots. the reblog that has the cat in it will only be available for 5 minutes so good luck if you manage to see or find that version.
I'll add the cat to this post about a minute after posting this. I need to add an image description so it'll take a sec

I think you’re being a little paranoid but ok. I hope you go to pride and wear whatever you want and have fun
Woooow. "Oh look, a minority group expressing their struggles, let's tell them they're just being paranoid and that antisemitism is no big deal actually".
Thank you, that made me feel so much safer. Yes I'm being sarcastic.
I swear, the nerve of some people

Fellow Jews, remember to drink plenty of water. Matzah is very dry, so drink lots of water.
