Hi everyone!
Just a little life update from me.
Because I’ve finished university, this blog will be archived. I’ll keep all of my posts and might pop in periodically but I’ll be logging out and focusing on my job.
I didn’t achieve massive popularity or notoriety on Studyblr, but it - and all of you - got me through some tough times in education, from my GCSEs in 2015-16 right through my A-levels and my degree. I’ve learned so much from studying and from this community, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much! I couldn’t have made my way through without you.
I’ll queue up this post once or twice, then will log off this account. Thank you all again! 💓

hello everyone! i thought i would share some keyboard shortcuts in notion that i use the most often and that save me the most time.
note: most actions from word processors, like ctrl + b for bold, will already work in notion!
#, ##, or ### + space to create large, medium, and small headings respectively
> + space to create a toggle block
/, the forward slash, lets you create any page you want. just type out what you’re looking for (i.e. page, table, link)
ctrl + \ toggles the sidebar on and off
ctrl + shift + n opens a new notion window (i use this for notetaking)
ctrl + shift + u lets you go up a level in the page hierarchy (i.e. from february to all months)
duplicate any content by holding option or alt and dragging. you can highlight as many blocks as you want
ctrl + / to change the type of blocks you have selected
ctrl + shift + p to move the page you’re on to another one (i like to use this for my article list to move them to my already read list
hope this helps :)

Chrome extensions I actually use as a mentally ill university student
Making websites easier to digest:
Dark Reader - Changes any webpage to dark mode.
Mercury Reader - Simplifies the layout of any webpage to eliminate distractions and irritating formatting.
Podcastle AI - Turns any article into a podcast. This is a lifesaver for being able to process what I’m reading, to be honest.
Spelling/grammar:
LanguageTool - Spelling and grammar check for those of us who regularly type in more than one language.
Grammarly - Spelling and grammar check for those of us who only type in English. Can be used with LanguageTool installed, which is what I do.
Google Dictionary - Define any word on the webpage with a double-click.
Google Translate - Translate an entire webpage or even just a short segment.
Misc:
AdGuard Adblocker - After trying quite a few adblocker options, this is the one I find the best.
The Great Suspender - Automatically suspend inactive tabs to help with performance.
Honey - Try coupon codes automatically to save money on online purchases.
Built-in Chrome tab grouping - Group your tabs to keep organized and minimize distracting clutter.

If you guys have ADD/ADHD, autism, OCD, or something else that affects your ability to concentrate, I highly recommend the chrome extension Mercury Reader. You just open whatever link you're using, then click on the MR icon (it should look like a rocket) and it'll simplify the page so that it's in a focus-friendly layout. Instead of having random pictures and word boxes all over the screen, it'll be in a vertical format with nothing to distract you so you can focus on what's important. You can also adjust the text size (small, medium, large), font (serif, sans), and theme (light, dark). And the best part is, it's completely free! It's honestly one of the best things I've ever downloaded.
Tumblr media
This is an article without the extension. See that messy format, and how the actual article content only takes up a fraction of the page? It's no wonder it took me 7 hours to write that paper.
Tumblr media
The same article, this time with Mercury. The user-friendly settings are at the top, and the rest of the article is formatted vertically down the middle with no free-roaming pictures or words. How nice.

how i use notion!
ai spent so long on setting up notion for 2021 but i’m satisfied and i think i found something that finally works for me - remember that when it comes to productivity it’s up to you to find what works and what doesn’t, i started using notion almost a year ago and until now never found a set up that worked for me.
let me know if you’re interested in using this template and I will find a way to share it with you!
Tumblr media
home
i use this just to have all of my pages accessible when i open up notion  - i also put everything under a category to make it easier to access during the day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
goals, journal, review
goals - i use this page to track my long term goals, both divided in personal and school related.
journal - i use this page as my personal journal, a brain dump, a place to collect ideas, i also made some tags to categorize if i’m talking about something personal, school or if it’s an idea or a dream.
review - since the journal is something more specific for the day, i like to keep track how my month went.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
agenda.
here i have my monthly agenda, with goals and dates to remember - also i used a widget that connects to my google calendar so i can see what’s next and what i have to do. beneath i have my weekly agenda that i use to keep track of the task that i have to do daily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hdemia, subjects, study plan.
hdemia - this my main academic page where i keep track of the subjects i’m taking this semester, the goals for this semester and the subjects i’m actually preparing.
subjects - this is a pretty easy set up i just keep track of the things that i have to do and i mark them as completed, in progress, not started
study plan - here is a calendar where i use sub pages to write what i want to accomplish in that specific date.
the other pages are just a simple habit traker and a list of movies, books and things i want to watch/read/buy.
always sorry for the bad english - i hope everything was clear!
