Over the last few weeks the Lord has shown me a lot about what it really means to live out of strength supplied by joy, specifically the joy of the Lord. Simply said, I’ve seen that the “joy of the Lord” is a sincere understanding of the Gospel. Slowly, I feel like I’m gluing together more pieces of: 1) the wonder that is the cross of Christ 2) the way I’m perceived by my Heavenly Father under Jesus’s perfect sacrificial covering (and) 3) the weight of the purpose driven life He calls believers to live; becoming a living sacrifice so that others might have the choice to engage in a joy that transcends every earthly experience and supplies supernatural strength to spark and sustain a soul-deep smile, even in the midst of the most severe suffering. ••• My friend, if you don’t know THIS kind of strength, let me share with you about my real relationship with Jesus. He wants to meet you wherever you are, free you from whatever holds you back, and love you unconditionally as He molds you into the person you’re meant to be in this brief breath of life. Can anyone else think of a few people that you can walk side--side with through life and they just make everything way more enjoyable?? What a gift!! W A T C H & W A I T • • • Those are the words that come to mind when I look at this image. Not stressfully or anxiously watching and waiting, but attentively and expectantly; the characteristics I desire to display in times of waiting on the Lord. Anyone else ever struggle with waiting like that? 🙋🏻‍♀️ ••• Slowly...steadily, I am learning that waiting translates into trust. Do I trust the Lord to provide in times of uncertainty, unrest or unanswered questions? Do I trust that my Heavenly Father really wants to give me the best? And that He will? Slowly...sadly, the question of, “do I trust His promises?” really becomes, “do I trust His heart?” ••• But thanks be to a most gracious God who does not leave me in the mess of my misconceptions and misguided questions! He transforms my waiting from just eagerly anticipating answers to a season of sweeter seeking. Faithfully... fiercely, He reveals Himself, reminding me who He is and turning “watch and wait” into “watch and wait in wonder of who I Am.” Trustworthy and True. Finally...fortunately, I rediscover that even when questions seem endless and answers seem absent, I can draw near to a Savior who never fails to give me more of Himself. It’s FriYAY!! A new Dunkin’ Donuts just opened up less than a minute away from my house and let me just tell you— that is very dangerous for my caffeine intake and my bank account. 😬😅 What’s that last fruit of the Spirit again... self-control?!
