Star Trek: The Cardassian Bird-of-Prey is a hobby fan webtoon co-written with my accomplice Marialexie and illustrated by me.
It is an alternate adventure where Kira and Dukat will fight the Klingons and the Dominion together aboard the Bird-of-Prey they captured.
So my boyfriend and I have a longstanding joke that Sarek would write at least One pulpy Vulcan-Human romance novels that heavily mirrors his relationship with Amanda, and yesterday we found an adequately terrible pulp romance novel with fantastic original art. So why not go the full nine yards.
Behold: the unreleased original cover for Illogical Desires: a Vulcan-Human romance novel
On the one hand, Jake likes to write stories, on the other, Ziyal likes to draw and paint, and they're about the same age. Setting these two up as a couple would be more logical and interesting than the strange relationship between Ziyal and Garak, who's old enough to be her father.
It was a too easy solution to create narrative tension with Dukat (the cliché of forbidden love). Making Garak a father figure to replace Dukat's absence would have been enough to create that narrative tension.
On the other hand, making Jake and Ziyal a couple could have added new developments to the relationship between Sisko and Dukat.
These days I'm trying to model and animate a Cardassian in Blender to work on the fan webtoon fan The Cardassian Bird-of-Prey faster!
