Thundercracker and Skywarp are repaints of Starscream and, because Starscream has detachable wings, that means if you had all three of them you could mix and match their wings

so far the main things about the show I don't like is Megatron's weird voice and the fact that these are the ugliest, most bullshit Transformers of all time

how does this even count as transforming. when he turns into a rat he basically just curls into a ball. not a single Transformer in this show looks good because turning transforming robots into animals is stupid

also i do think that the pervasive idea where "canon doesn't bother to respect itself, why should i respect canon" wrt comics is like. hm. the idea that the many different iterations of characters due to a variety of writers seeing them a variety different ways isn't a bonus actually....the variety means there are many different ways and opportunities for a character to vibe with you in a certain story or under a writer. rather than decry it all as useless because it's so inconsistent therefore you can do whatever you want because the characters don't matter, there is probably *more* opportunity than most within comics as a medium to find a characterization thay works for you. but in order to do so, you do have to interact with the canon to find it. because there's a difference between personal interpretation of characterization and just making stuff up.

the problem isn't just that media literacy is slowly becoming a dying art. it's that people straight up do not pay attention when they watch tv/film anymore.

The ranking so far -

G1 S1 and 2: 5/10. There are no real characters on the show other than Starscream and Optimus Prime and the ‘Decepticons try to steal energy and the Autobots try to stop them’ cycle of events gets old fast

G1 S3: 4/10. Turns into old-fashioned sci-fi schlock. Ultra Magnus is the only redeeming aspect but you just wonder why he wasn’t made Prime over Rodimus, who unequivocally sucks. Galvatron and Cyclonus are not even in the same league as Megatron and Starscream so they don’t work at all as their replacements

G1 S4: 1/10. Who wrote that. Who thought anyone would like it. Why did that child Danny have a weird half son half crush relationship with Arcee. Especially since he had a mother on the show

The Headmasters: 7/10. Having a plot really helps this show. Fortress Maximus, Scorponok, and Sixshot are all great. They send off Optimus Prime but never bring up any of the other characters who died in the movie the people who got this show didn’t see, which was weird

Super God Master Force: 6/10. Had a good plot but too many main characters so they all suffer. They go to Canada several times which was nice

Victory: 5/10. Star Saber is not interesting and we’re told he’s the greatest warrior in the universe despite Optimus Prime saving him twice. A lot of reliance on something the previous show started, which was that solving every problem involved transforming things onto the main protagonist to make him bigger. Of all the Optimus Prime replacements they came up with, Star Saber is definitely the most boring

In the Zone OVA, one of the Autobot planes takes his wings off and turns them into a sword shaped like a Z, which he then uses to cut a Decepticon in half vertically

today I started the series called Victory, but I feel like I missed something because it opens with a whole lot of backstory about characters I've never heard of in situations I never witnessed

Power Master Optimus Prime from Super God Master Force makes an appearance, but during the first episode he sits down in a teleportation chair and says he's going to help somewhere but hasn't reappeared yet
