Pushing Towards You
Chapter 22: Rave'N
Tumblr media
There was Larissa. Sitting in her armchair, in her masculine form, panting. Since Rebeca's visit, that scene had become commonplace. She needed to become intimate with her own body before she could introduce it to Calista. Truth be told, her male body. Years had passed since the last time Larissa had transformed into her male self. She didn't feel comfortable, but the desire to have a child with Calista was greater.
Sighing, she looked at the clock; it was almost time for her meeting with Gaia. They would start planning Rave'N. Getting up from the chair, Larissa went to her quarters to clean up. It was getting more complex every day to do it alone; Larissa was not a teenager who got turned on for any reason, and time was passing for her and Calista.
As she washed, she wondered why she hadn't included Calista initially. The answer was simple: shame and fear. She was ashamed of Calista seeing her male form and afraid that this new form would be more attractive than the original. She spent years perfecting her masculine self, trying to modify every feature of her body that she didn't like, creating an entirely new person. It was still possible to recognize Larissa, but the insecurity was evident when she transformed.
Larissa looked in the mirror, undressed and still in her male form. Would Calista like it? She wondered. Would she like me more as a man? Sighing deeply, she returned to her original form, dressed, and returned to her room. She had just decided that it was time for Calista to meet her male self when there was a knock on the door. Gaia arrived for the meeting with Larissa.
------
Patiently, Calista waited for Larissa.
A few weeks had passed since she and Larissa learned to conceive a child together. Despite not putting pressure on her loved one, Calista felt frustrated for not participating in the initial project. She knew that Larissa was insecure about herself, and that wouldn't change even if she were in her male form. In this way, she avoided bringing up the subject to give the principal more space but lived in anticipation of the day things would change.
When the idea of having a child was suggested, Calista was not prepared to get pregnant again after years. She and Larissa had resumed their relationship not long ago; the city was new, the routine was new, and the work was new. With the number of changes Calista had gone through, pregnancy was not part of her plans. But now everything has changed. Now, she finds herself planning the arrival of this child. But before Calista could say anything to Larissa, she found a package of condoms in a shared drawer.
"Honey, I thought the intention was for me to get pregnant," Calista said, showing the newly found package.
Larissa was in the kitchen, preparing dinner, and had to turn around to see what Calista was talking about when she saw the package of condoms hanging in the air.
"That's the intention." She said. "But I don't want you to get pregnant while I'm in my male form."
Calista left the package on the counter and went to Larissa, hugging her from behind. She felt Larissa's body relaxing slightly on top of hers.
"Does this mean you're ready to include me?" Calista asked with a smile.
"Yes, darling. Let's do this." Larissa kissed Calista's forehead and turned her attention to the stove.
Calista remained there, hugging Larissa for a few more seconds before turning around and returning to the bedroom to put the condoms back in the drawer.
After dinner, Calista was sitting on the sofa with her legs on Larissa's lap, reading a book, when she noticed the director looking around the apartment, lost in thought.
"What are you looking for, Riss?" Calista asked.
"We need to buy a house," Larissa replied distractedly.
Calista frowned, marked the page she had stopped on, and left the book on the coffee table. Crawling onto Larissa's lap, she made herself comfortable and wrapped the hands around her neck.
"Tell me what's on your mind, love," Calista said, resting her head on Larissa's shoulder.
"The apartment is cozy. But it's not ours and not big enough for the two of us, Artemis and another child." Larissa pondered, hugging Calista around the waist.
Larissa wanted to buy a house in Jericho because it was well located for both her and Calista to go to work. For her, the house should have at least three bedrooms and a backyard; she insisted on a backyard. Artemis should have her room on school holidays or whenever she wants to sleep at home.
Larissa described in detail the type of house she would like to have. It seemed like she had been planning this all her life, even though she wasn't sure if she would ever start a family. Calista listened in amazement and could imagine their house just by listening to Larissa speak.
"You look sexy when you behave like a head of the family." Calista joked.
"You think?" Larissa smiled, straightening up.
Calista laughed and nodded, biting her lip. Slowly, she adjusted herself on Larissa's lap, placing one leg on each side of her hips, straddling her. Larissa's hands were already smoothing Calista's back underneath her t-shirt, and her mouth was already moving towards Calista's.
Larissa got up, carrying Calista in her arms without breaking the kiss, and took her to the bedroom. Calista lay down in the middle of the bed and leaned on her elbows to watch Larissa slowly take off her clothes in front of the bed. She wanted to shift in front of Calista so as not to be awkward when entering the room as a completely different person.
Calista watched in silence a naked Larissa who, in a sigh, gave way to a man who was also blond with blue eyes but considerably shorter. Larissa has always had a problem with her height, so it was natural that she wanted to change this feature. The male version had narrow hips and broad shoulders, discreetly muscular but tending towards a leaner profile. Larissa also had a problem with her weight.
The scar on his lips was still there. The thin and long fingers were also present, now without nail polish. The male version of Larissa was just as beautiful as her original form. Calista probably let that thought show because Larissa quickly started trying to cover herself with her hands, blushing slightly.
Calista walked on her knees to the edge of the bed and reached out to Larissa, pulling her close. Calista smoothed Larissa's body, running her hands over her chest and abdomen. Larissa instinctively let her arms fall to her sides and closed her eyes, feeling Calista's touch travel through her body. A shiver ran down her spine when Calista's lips touched her collarbone.
"You are beautiful, my love." Calista whispered repeatedly as she kissed Larissa's body, moving up her neck and ending at her mouth.
Calista kissed Larissa intensely, closing her fingers in the other woman's short platinum blonde hair. Larissa grunted into the kiss and pulled Calista by the waist. Calista could feel Larissa's erection in her lower parts now that the heights were compatible.
Slowly, Larissa undressed Calista without letting their mouths move apart. Before getting into bed, Larissa took a condom from the dresser drawer. She found that extremely strange; they never needed it. But now the purpose was different, so Larissa sighed and climbed onto the bed, crawling over to Calista, who kept her eyes on Larissa the whole time.
------
Calista woke up the next day next to Larissa in her original form. The woman was fast asleep. Shifting just one part of the body was tiring; doing it with the entire body and combining it with aerobic physical activity was exhausting. Before bed, Calista made a cup of hot chocolate for a panting and sweaty Larissa.
Sneaking out of bed, Calista picked up the remains of the previous night from the floor and headed sleepily to the bathroom to shower. She was a little more sore than usual. Shifting to a man increased Larissa's strength and body mass, as well as her sexual drive. Thus, Calista had to adapt to the new style.
Larissa was still sleeping when Calista got out of the shower, indicating that the energy expenditure was more significant than intended. Not hungry, Calista lay on the couch and flipped between television channels without paying attention, letting time pass and waiting until Larissa woke up.
It wasn't long until Larissa appeared in the room, still in her pajamas and messy hair—a very peculiar image for Calista. Larissa was always tidy. But not this time. She looked tired and unconcerned about her appearance but, at the same time, relaxed. She got under Calista, letting the other lie on top of her, kissed the crown of her head, and dozed off. Calista stayed there. She was lying on top of Larissa, watching something on television and listening to her low, calm breathing.
It took another forty minutes until Larissa was fully awake. It was still early for Calista, but by Larissa's standards, it was already late. It wasn't a work day, but she still liked getting up early. However, that day, she was lazy, and Calista wanted to take the opportunity to spend a peaceful and relaxing day with Larissa.
"Eat, my love. You need to replenish your energy." Calista prepared breakfast with more food than usual—eggs, bacon, bread, butter, hot chocolate - of course - and many other things.
"I thought you didn't like cooking." Larissa's eyes widened as she took her first bite of bacon and eggs. It was delicious, and she felt her body reinvigorate.
"Not liking to cook doesn't mean I don't know how." She smiled and received a smile and a nod in response as Larissa helped herself to hot chocolate. "How are you feeling?"
Larissa shrugged. "Exhausted. I didn't expect to have my energy drained like this."
"Have you ever done this before?" Calista asked casually but with a hint of jealousy.
"Shifting for sex?" Larissa's eyes widened. "At university, those who didn't stay away from me because I was an outcast approached me to do personal experiments with me. At first, I gave in, of course. Then, it became too depressing. It's been a while since I tried that."
Jealousy gave way to anger. Calista became extremely angry when she found out people were approaching Larissa to use her in some way. She couldn't understand or imagine how people didn't appreciate her like Calista did.
"Riss, we don't need to do it this way if it brings back bad memories or makes you feel out of place." Calista held Larissa's hand and looked into her eyes. "You can keep trying on your own. I can wait as long as it takes."
Larissa shook her head, took Calista's hand to her mouth, and kissed her knuckles. "You're not abusing me or using me, Lis. Don't worry. Last night was wonderful—just a little more exhausting than I imagined." She smiled.
"Do you think it worked?" Calista didn't understand shapeshifting, but Larissa and Artemis have said several times that they simply know because they are always aware of their bodies.
"I believe so." Larissa bent her head thoughtfully as if trying to access her body's deepest parts. "It was a new feeling. Maybe a few more tries before I need to test it."
"Test it?" Calista frowned, confused.
"Yes... Well." Larissa seemed slightly annoyed at the idea. "Rebeca sent me a message a few days ago and said that the best way to make sure the shift was complete was to do a spermogram. So that we don't live in anticipation of your pregnancy."
Calista laughed. "So, you're going to have to march into a lab and just jerk off into a cup?" She was clearly having fun with the idea.
Larissa pursed her lips. "Well, that's not a delicate way of putting it, but yes, that's exactly what I need to do."
"Oh, honey. I'm sorry you had to put yourself through this." Calista was having fun. She tried to hide her smirk. "But I can give you a hand if you want." She winked.
Larissa narrowed her eyes and squeezed her lips, trying to hide her smile due to Calista's sarcasm. "I think I can handle it, thank you. But I shall give you a call if I need to." She finally smiled.
------
Over the months, Larissa took turns spending the night with Calista in her male form and taking care of business alone during the day at the office. This way, she got a few free nights in her original form.
Organizing Rave'N was on the back burner on her agenda. Gaia was excited about the planning. She and Professor Mitchell would chaperone the dance that year, leaving Larissa free to enjoy the night. Thus, the principal's participation was only to authorize the purchase of supplies and materials according to the established budget.
"You are doing an excellent job, Gaia." Larissa was at her desk, signing some papers at the end of another meeting for the Rave'N organization.
"I appreciate the trust." Gaia smiled when she received the compliment.
"You should ask Miss Micthell to the ball." Larissa suggested returning the documents.
"Perhaps." Gaia looked thoughtful. "We're going to chaperone; I don't know if that would be appropriate."
"I don't see what the problem would be, but it's up to you," Larissa smiled.
Larissa could enjoy the ball for the first time since she was a student, so she would invite Calista to accompany her. Their last Rave'N as students did not end as expected, with the murder charge against Gomez Addams and a fight between her and Calista.
"I imagine you'll be coming with Calista, right?" Gaia was getting up from her seat to leave.
"I believe so. For some reason, I'm nervous about asking her to be my date." Larissa leaned back in her chair and raised her eyebrows.
"I think it's the memories of the past," Gaia suggested. "But don't worry. She agreed to marry you. Rave'N is nothing close to that." Winking, she left, closing the door behind her.
She has a point. Larissa thought. I'm going to talk to Calista tonight.
------
"Artemis texted me earlier." Calista was cuddling with Larissa on the sofa after dinner with a glass of wine in her hand. "She wants to go shopping on Saturday to buy her Rave'N dress."
That was Larissa's cue. She sought to talk about the ball without being too casual or clingy. For some reason, she could feel butterflies in her stomach whenever she thought about mentioning it.
"Talking about that..." Larissa looked down at Calista and scratched her scalp. I won't chaperone the ball this year, so I was wondering if you would like to go on a date. Our last Rave'N didn't end as planned." She was feeling eager. Why was she feeling eager? It was just a school ball, for God's sake!
A bright smile was forming on Calista's face. "Of course I would, Riss." She could already imagine both of them together, finally, at the Rave'N.
Larissa breathed a sigh of relief and only then realized she was holding her breath, waiting for Calista's response. She knew she would get a yes answer, but that didn't lessen her anxiety when asking the question. "I think I'm going to need a dress, too," she heard Calista say as she imagined what it would be like their night. "Artemis will like to help you choose it." She finally responded by returning to reality and smiling at Calista.
That was one of many topics on Larissa's mind. Another was making a silent noise in her mind. The next day, Larissa would go to a laboratory to check if the shifting worked. She didn't want to comment with Calista so that expectations wouldn't be generated, and she was eventually frustrated. But simultaneously, she felt terrible about hiding this moment from the most important person in her life.
"If it's not you, who will chaperone the ball this year?" Calista asked, breaking Larissa out of her thoughts.
"Gaia and Miss Mitchell." Larissa left the other topic aside and enjoyed the day with Calista.
"Gaia is well involved in Nevermore's affairs." Calista adjusted herself, lifting her head to look at Larissa.
"She is extremely competent and interested," Larissa commented. "For me, that's great. I don't intend to be a director for the rest of my life. Who knows, maybe she can take on that role later on."
"Do you intend to leave the directorship of the Academy?" This was news to Calista and surprised her on several levels. She knew how much Larissa loved school. "But you love that place."
"Indeed, my darling." Larissa agreed, looking into Calista's eyes. "I can go back to teaching. I'll have more free time for our family."
Calista didn't respond to it but wrapped her arms around Larissa and hugged her tight. Knowing that Larissa was willing to give up this position to dedicate herself to this new life gave Calista more certainty that the choice to get married and have a child was right.
"Thank you for that," Calista whispered in Larissa's ear, tickling her.
"For what, my love?" Larissa flinched briefly and closed her eyes as she felt the warm air in her ear.
"Giving up so much for us." She rested her head on Larissa's neck.
"I appreciate you allowing me to choose to do this," Larissa replied softly.
"The pleasure is mine." Calista giggled and gently kissed Larissa's lips.
Larissa reacted to the kiss, intensifying it and wrapping her arms around Calista's waist, pulling her close to her body. Calista happily consented to the tug.
"Bed. Now. No shifting today." Calista said between kisses.
"Yes, ma'am." Larissa laughed, jumping up and carrying Calista in her arms.
------
"You still haven't told me who you're going to the dance with," Calista asked Artemis as they walked through the aisles of a clothing store, looking for suitable dresses.
"Xavier," Artemis replied almost in a whisper, avoiding her mother's eyes. The girl was blushing heavily.
"No need to be shy!" Calista smiled, putting her arm around her daughter's waist. "He seems to be nice."
"It's not shyness." Artemis put her arm around her mother's shoulder. Now, they were walking side by side, synchronized. "It's nerves. I don't know. It's the first time someone has asked me to a dance. It's actually my first dance."
The girl's uneasiness was palpable. Before Nevermore, Artemis had no friends and, as such, was always absent from school gatherings. Calista wanted her daughter's first dance to be unforgettable, so she did her best to find the most beautiful dress. Furthermore, she wanted to know a little more about Xavier; after all, the boy's behavior would be decisive for a pleasant and memorable experience.
"So, tell me more about this boy, Xavier, what he's like?"
"He's fine." And the blush on Artemis's cheek was back. "He's quiet, he doesn't talk much, but he's curious. He likes to know what my life was like before school."
"What else?" Calista thought it was a good start for Xavier to be interested in Artemis.
"Hmm...let me see," Artemis pondered as she looked among the hangers and mannequins. He has psychic abilities, practices archery, and fencing, and is an artist. He is very good at painting and sketching. Enid often says he is a solitary artist."
"Artist? Interesting." Calista kept this information; an idea was already forming in her head. "But what about how he is with you? Besides being curious, how does he treat you?"
"He's always asking me how things are going and if I'm adapting. He offers me help with my studies. So, I think he treats me well, right?" Artemis looked for a response from Calista with a doubtful and anxious look.
"It's a good start," Calista reassured. "The important thing is that he respects who you are and that you feel good about him. And if you need anything, your mother and I will always be here."
"I know that. I appreciate it..." The girl stopped suddenly in front of a mannequin. Calista immediately knew this would be the perfect dress for a perfect night.
------
Larissa sat in an armchair in a small, dimly lit room with a small plastic pot in her right hand. A television was waiting to be turned on on the wall in front of her, and below it was a shelf with magazines to be leafed through. She had been led to this room minutes before by a male nurse with clear instructions on how to collect the sample for a spermogram. She was shifted into her masculine self, so it didn't even occur to the nurse that she was the school's principal for outcasts.
Alone in the small room of the clinical laboratory, Larissa returned to her natural shape, keeping only the complete male reproductive system shifted. It was a strange and slightly embarrassing feeling, but no one else knew she was there, so she grabbed the remote control, turned on the television, and flipped through the erotic channels until she found something that could help her. It would have been easier if Calista had been with her.
------
Finally, Rave'N night arrived. Calista had been anxious ever since Larissa asked her to the dance. Their last Rave'N had ended very badly, culminating in years of separation. But this time, everything was different. She and Larissa were back together, getting married, and even planning to have a child. Still, the memory of her adolescence caused her anxiety.
Even though Larissa didn't chaperone the dance, she and Calista decided to get ready in their rooms in Nevermore so they could be among the first to arrive. This way, Larissa could be available if Gaia and Samantha needed help. Deep down, she wishes they didn't need her because she would like to dedicate the night to Calista. However, as a principal, she must make herself ready to take action for setbacks.
Calista waited in Larissa's office while she waited for the other woman to finish getting ready. She was always faster than the future wife. That night, Calista, in fact, chose a dress, put on makeup, and did her hair. Larissa could simply shift into her party outfit, but keeping it shifted all night would take energy—energy that Larissa planned to spend otherwise. Therefore, Calista had to wait for Larissa almost 30 minutes after finishing getting ready. But the wait was worth it. Larissa looked beautiful in a blue dress that matched her eyes.
It was as if they were back in their teens, and this was their first Rave'N. Calista and Larissa arrived at the ballroom with a small group of students just as the dance began. Before they even looked for a table to sit down, Larissa went to Gaia and Samantha, praised the organization of the dance, and told them not to hesitate to call her if they needed it. Meanwhile, Calista awaited Larissa's return and looked around the hall, admiring the work done by Gaia and looking for Artemis.
The girl arrived arm in arm with Xavier. She was radiant. As soon as her eyes met his mother's, she poked the boy in the ribs and whispered something in his ear. The boy then nodded with a smile, and the two went towards Calista and Larissa.
"Hi, Mom. Hi, Director Weems." Artemis was visibly embarrassed and wanted to make that conversation as short as possible.
"Artemis! You look beautiful, darling." Larissa said with a smile. "And you look very elegant, Mr. Thorpe."
"Xavier, we haven't been properly introduced." Calista held out her hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Calista, mother of Artemis."
"Hello, Mrs. Cos'Anto. It's my pleasure to meet you." The boy smiled at Calista.
"Artemis told me that you are an artist who paints pictures. Do you take orders?" This question surprised Artemis and Larissa, who looked at each other, looking for an explanation.
"Sure, why not?" The boy was restless about pleasing his prom date's mother.
"Great! So, we'll talk another time. You'll have fun." Calista smiled at an increasingly confused Artemis and dismissed them both.
"What are you up to, Lis?" Larissa asked, hugging Calista from behind and resting her cheek on the other's head.
"Me? Nothing! I'm just testing the boy's skills." Calista dodged the question, turned on her feet, faced Larissa, and passed her hand behind her neck. "Shall we dance, Miss Weems?"
Larissa decided not to press any further and smiled. "Let's dance, Mrs. Cos'Anto!"
After a traumatizing first, Rave'N, Calista, and Larissa were finally able to have fun even though they were no longer students, they danced all night, and Larissa forgot for a few hours about her responsibilities towards the Academy, even though many students greeted her warmly when they passed her. Before the night ended, Larissa thanked Gaia again for her efforts in organizing the event. Everything had gone very well. The students and teachers had fun, and there were no incidents like the previous year.
"Why don't you take advantage of the room's emptiness and ask Miss Mitchell for the last dance?" Larissa suggested before leaving.
"Would she accept?" Gaia asked, biting her lip in uncertainty.
"Something tells me yes." Larissa looked towards the corner of the room and saw Samantha looking at the two of them expectantly. Gaia followed Larissa's gaze and met Samantha's.
"Have a great end to the night, professors." Larissa smiled and went to join Calista, who was waiting for her at the room's exit.
Larissa and Calista walked through the halls of Nevermore hand in hand towards Larissa's quarters, talking about Rave'N.
"Thanks for the night, Riss," Calista said, sitting on the edge of the bed and removing her heels. "I am exhausted."
"Oh yeah? I was wondering if we could start our little project tonight." Larissa insinuated, starting to take off her dress.
"Project? Are you talking about having a baby?" A smile appeared at the corner of Calista's mouth as she understood what Larissa meant. "Don't you need to do the test first? To check if the shifting worked."
"It turns out I already did." Larissa let her dress fall to the floor, revealing her feminine body with only her sex entirely shifted. "The results came back today, and we are ready to try to have a baby."
"So, it looks like we won't be sleeping tonight." Calista stretched out her arms to welcome Larissa, kissing her passionately and taking her to bed.

Reminder if you haven’t heard it in a while, or maybe not at all:
You’re not a bad person for being in love with more than one person at once.
This is not a moral issue.
You are okay. You are valid. You are loved.
You do not need to be ashamed.

You could tell that The Paragon was another one of those ridiculously expensive restaurants as soon as you set foot inside. High ceilings, heavy velvet curtains hanging by the windows, paintings on the walls.
You took a deep breath and slid your hand into Larissa’s, intertwining your fingers with hers. It felt reassuring, feeling her skin against yours and knowing that she was there with you. Or that you were there with her.
A waiter quickly walked your way, flashing the two of you a bright smile before leading you to a table. You felt a couple of stares as you walked past the other seated people and realised what they were probably thinking about. A young woman with an older one, holding hands. You hadn’t even asked Larissa if this was okay - holding her hand in public. Holding hands like a couple would. That thought made you pull your hand away from Larissa’s as if you’d been burnt, much to Larissa’s dismay.
You sat down at the table and Larissa followed suit, sitting down in front of you. The older woman smiled when you didn’t bother opening the menu that had been handed to you by the waiter, knowing full well she’d be picking whatever you’d be eating.
Good girl, she thought as her blue eyes bore into yours before dropping to the menu in her hands.
Seared scallops with a saffron sauce as a main and a white chocolate and raspberry semifredo for dessert, that’s what she had picked for you that night.
Dinner went like it did last time, Larissa was always more willing to listen to you talking about your life rather than share about hers.
The tall woman chuckled softly when you pushed some semifredo in your mouth, making you look at her.
“What?”
“You have some-“ Larissa didn’t finish her sentence, choosing instead to reach out and wipe the bit of cream from the corner of your mouth with her thumb.
Almost instinctively, your lips parted. Larissa’s breath hitched, her heart doing that damn fluttering thing in her chest. You looked so beautiful, she thought. So open to her, so inviting.
Without thinking about it twice, she pushed the tip of her finger between your parted lips. And without thinking about it twice, your tongue licked the pad of her thumb clean.
A shiver ran down Larissa’s spine and she pulled her hand away from your lips, leaving you with your mouth half open and a questioning look on your face.
“Larissa, I-“ you started apologising but the older woman cut you off, raising her hand to catch the waiter’s attention.
You stayed quiet as she paid the bill, following when she stood up and buttoned up her blazer. You weren’t sure what you had done exactly to warrant her whole demeanour to change, but it was clear that you had messed up.
She was still silent when you sat down by her side in the car, seemingly lost in her own thoughts as she drove away from the restaurant.
Larissa was as lost as you were, thousands of thoughts rushing through her mind as she remembered everything that had happened that day. This was nothing more than a beneficial agreement - she found herself thinking for what seemed to be the hundredth time that day.
She was still quiet by the time she dropped you off at your place, reaching for the envelope inside the glove compartment and carefully placing it on your lap.
“Larissa, you don’t have to-“
“I know. But that’s what we agreed on, I’m paying you for your time.”
You gave a slight nod and pushed the envelope inside your handbag.
“Well,” you started, turning a little to face Larissa who kept her gaze outside the windshield. “Thank you for today.”
The older woman nodded and gently squeezed your knee without looking at you.
For a second you wondered if that was it, if this was the last time you’d see her. And then it hit you, the sudden urge to lunge at her and pull her into a kiss. Maybe it would wipe the worry off her pretty blue eyes and the pout off her crimson lips. But you didn’t kiss her, choosing instead to mutter a quiet “goodnight” before getting out of the car.
You didn’t see Larissa again after that night, at least not for a while. She didn’t contact you anymore, not even a single text to ask how you were doing. And maybe, you thought, maybe that was for the best. Sure, money was tight again but…
“Fuck!” You dropped the letter on your coffee table. Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck. You were fucked.
“What do you mean you don’t do instalments?!” You snapped at the woman on the other side of the phone that was pressed to your ear. “Yes, yes I get that! I get that it’s my fault but-“ you groaned when the woman cut you off again to remind you for the third time that you had missed part of the payment for your college fees and you had to pay for the remaining amount as soon as possible.
“For god’s sake, I’m a college student! Where do you think I’ll find two thousand dollars before Friday?! No, no my parents won’t-“ you pinched the bridge of your nose and took a deep breath. It was clear that the conversation wasn’t going anywhere, so you thanked the woman for her time and hung up.
You were fucked.
Asking your parents for help was useless, you already knew that. Maybe you could pick up a few more shifts at the bar but that meant you’d have to skip some classes and even then you would never gather that much money in a few days. And then it hit you. There was someone in your life who did have that kind of money.
You sighed loudly and sat down on the couch, staring at the phone that was still in your hand. You couldn’t just text Larissa asking her for two grand, not after you hadn’t talked to each other in weeks. No, you’d have to come up with a plan. And so you did.
It was a fairly simple plan. You texted Larissa asking how she was doing and chatting for a while before you offered to see each other. “A drink at my place,” you said. You knew that Larissa was attracted to you, a blind person could have told you that. Were you attracted to her though? You shook your head to get rid of the thought. It didn’t matter if you were attracted or not, all that mattered was that she was.
She had arrived at your place that evening with a bottle of Chardonnay. “I hate showing up empty-handed.” She’d told you when you said you had a couple of red wine bottles in the cupboard.
Larissa was a vision, as always. A beige-coloured coat that she shrugged off her shoulders to reveal a tight dress of the exact same beige fabric. Her hair was tied in one of those intricate updos, like the ones you’d seen in old movies, and her lips painted a darker shade of red. She was a vision.
“Make yourself comfortable, please.” You smiled and gestured towards the sofa. After a few seconds of hesitation, you opted to open a bottle of red. You had a feeling Larissa had a preference for it.
“There,” You said, placing the two glasses on the coffee table and sitting down next to the older woman. “Had a good day at work?”
“I did, it could have been worse.” Larissa gently clinked her glass against yours and took a swig of wine. She never shared much about her work which only made you more curious.
She asked about your day and you told her about it, avoiding mentioning the astronomical bill you had to pay.
“I’m glad you could come tonight.” You smiled and took a sip.
“I’m glad you invited me, I know it’s not an easy thing to let people into our space.”
“You’re right, but I trust you.“ How ironic. “It’s not much, but it’s home.” You added, looking around your living room.
Larissa hummed and took another sip of wine, uncrossing her legs and crossing them again.
“Do you live in a house?” You asked, hoping to learn more about her.
“I…No, it’s a bit complicated. I have my own apartments at work.” Larissa explained, visibly ill at ease.
“It’s fine, I know you don’t like sharing about your private life.” You pushed a small smile and carefully placed your hand on Larissa’s leg, right above her knee where the soft fabric of her dress gave way to her alabaster skin.
“Thank you,” Larissa whispered, adjusting herself so she could look at you.
You felt bad at the thought of what you were about to do. Your stomach twisting in your belly as Larissa’s gaze bore into yours. You liked her. You couldn’t do this.
Almost as a reflex you lifted your hand and emptied your drink to give yourself more courage.
“May I kiss you?” It left your lips without you even thinking about it.
Larissa’s eyes widened to the point where she looked like a deer caught in the headlights of a fast-approaching car.
Well, that did not go as you had expected.
The silence was almost too unbearable so you cleared your throat and moved to get up from the couch, hoping to pour yourself another glass of wine when slender fingers wrapped around your forearm and yanked you back down. Next thing you knew Larissa’s lips were crashing against yours, her right hand finding purchase on your cheek and pulling you impossibly closer.
“Yes,” she whispered out of breath when she eventually pulled away from you, her red lipstick smudged around her mouth up to the tip of her nose. “Yes, you may kiss me. And you may not stop.”
Larissa couldn’t help but notice the way your pupils dilated in reaction to her words. So you did want her. You wanted her like she wanted you and that made the woman’s heart swell in her chest.
“Kiss me again.” A demand that you couldn’t say no to, really. And so you kissed her again. And again. And again. Until she pulled you so you’d straddle her thighs and her lips eventually left yours, busying themselves on leaving red marks along your jaw and down your neck.
“Larissa-“ it came out as a strangled cry, your fingertips gently tugging on the woman’s hair and messing up her neat updo.
“Stop me if I go too far.” She whispered against your skin as her hands slipped under your dress to caress your thighs.
You weren’t sure if this was still part of your plan. Sure, you had hoped to seduce her thinking it might make her more susceptible to lend you the money but maybe this was actually going too far.
“I need two grand-“ it was out of your mouth in less than a second and Larissa’s hand instantly stilled their movements.
“What ?” She huffed in disbelief.
“I-I need two grand for a bill, but I’ll pay you back! I swear!”
Larissa huffed again and shook her head, her hands moving to her hair in an attempt to fix her updo - or perhaps to ground herself, you weren’t sure.
“This is why you called me here, isn’t it?”
You quickly stood up from the woman’s thighs and fixed your dress.
“No! Of course not-“ you swallowed thickly as she rose to her full height and towered over you.
Larissa’s face was flushed and you could tell it wasn’t the same flush as a few minutes before. No, this time she was furious.
“Larissa, Listen-“ You tried, taking a step back and watching her take one forward.
“No!” She growled with a severity that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. “It’s your turn to listen.”
You took another step back as she took one closer, then another one, until she had you trapped against the fridge.
“You lied to me,” she said. “You made me come here, made me believe that you wanted to spend time with me. But all you care about is my money, isn’t it?” Larissa hissed, baring her teeth like a rabid dog. “You would sell your body like some cheap whore on the street.”
“And you would buy it!” You snapped, unable to let her bite you without biting her back.
“No, that’s where you’re wrong. I wouldn’t. I don’t mind paying for your time, your company. But this? No. It would feel like using you, and I already feel guilty enough as it is. Although you obviously don’t mind using me.” Larissa took a step back and reached inside her handbag, pulling out her chequebook and opening it.
“What are you-“ you started, only to be cut off by the older woman.
“I care.” Larissa simply said as she wrote the cheque. “And I thought-“ she slightly shook her head and handed you the cheque. Two thousand dollars. “Yes, I thought.” She repeated before giving a nod and putting her beige coat back on.
“Larissa,” you tried, gently wrapping your hand around her bicep.
“No,” she shook her head again and pulled away. “You’ve played me. You won’t see me again, sweetling.” It was said without any animosity. Instead, you found that her blue eyes were filled with melancholy as if she had been through this before and life was just repeating itself.
I’m sorry, you wanted to say, I’m sorry I lied to you and manipulated you. And I’m sorry to be hurting you.
You wanted to rip the cheque into pieces, to show her that it didn’t matter. But it did. You needed the money or you’d be kicked out of college. But, Larissa. Larissa, Larissa, Larissa. Larissa and her melancholy-filled eyes. I’m not like the ones who’ve hurt you before, you wanted to shout. But you were. Perhaps you were even worse than them.
Larissa and her melancholy-filled eyes.
Larissa and her warmth-filled laugh.
Larissa and her love-filled kisses.
Love-filled kisses.
Oh, god.
Of course.
You hadn’t realised it. Not before that moment. Larissa didn’t just like you. She had feelings for you.
“Larissa!” You exclaimed, snapping out of your thoughts only to find your apartment empty.
She was gone.
You were fucked.

Pushing Towards You
Chapter 21: Visiting Week
Tumblr media
Calista needed to get back to her daily routine. After almost two weeks at home and experiencing opposite feelings with all the latest events, duty called her. Now, she was wearing a ring on her right hand after Larissa's marriage proposal at the New Year's party. Every time she looked at her hand, a smile appeared. Her coworkers caught her standing in the middle of a hallway several times, admiring her ring and remembering that night.
She also returned to her apartment. Although the days she spent with Larissa at Nevermore were pleasant, classes were about to start again, and she wanted to keep her personal life distinct from her future wife's work. With that, Larissa also returned to her routine, Nevermore during the day, Calista's house at night.
Both Calista and Larissa were expecting a visit from the shapeshifter who impregnated her partner using her shifter abilities. The two intend to go to Calista's apartment on the first weekend of the year to discuss how the child's conception process went. However, the partner did not attend the meeting because she felt uncomfortable. So, right after lunch on Saturday, the shapeshifter arrived at Calista's apartment alone.
She went by the name Rebeca. The two shapeshifters that Calista knew had the same characteristics: extremely tall, thin but robust, blonde and blue eyes. Rebeca was the opposite of that. The woman had black, wavy hair, dark eyes, and a short stature, but she was strong; Calista could see her strong arms sticking out of her shirt sleeve. Larissa's eyes roamed Rebeca's body, looking for something resembling hers. She also didn't know other shapeshifters.
Like Larissa, Rebeca was the first in her family to exhibit shifting skills. Still, unlike the experience of the principal of Nevermore, Rebeca received support from her family and, in this way, got closer to others with the same ability and learned from them. So, getting her wife pregnant wasn't a question of 'if,' just 'when' because she already knew how the process went.
Rebeca was American, but she knew shapeshifters all over the globe. They had a communication network between them, as they were considered outcasts among outcasts. Mutual support helped maintain the community and exchange experiences and knowledge. Larissa took a deep interest in this community of shapeshifters. In this way, Rebeca spent the first hours of the meeting explaining how the exchange of information took place and what the discussions promoted by the group were like.
Calista knew how vital the connection between the two shapeshifters was to Larissa. Having a shapeshifter daughter and probably a second child who would also be one, she would like her family to be able to find refuge among their peers. As much as Calista supported Artemis and Larissa, deep down, she didn't have the knowledge to help them with issues involving the barriers to their abilities.
Rebeca seemed happy to present this new perspective and was impressed with Larissa's knowledge of the species despite not being among them yet. The literature on shapeshifting was full of prejudices, and shapeshifters were sometimes seen as cheats and deceivers. Access to reliable information required an intense and endless search for books and articles. Calista knew that Larissa had always been highly dedicated to studying shapeshifters, but listening to Rebeca, she knew that the headmistress had earned the visitor's respect, and she couldn't be more proud.
Rebeca's wife was also a shapeshifter. They met during group meetings and learned together the strengths and weaknesses of the species. Thus, Rebeca was shocked when she discovered that Calista was a different outcast. Her experience taught her that it was easier for normies to accept and relate to shifters than outcasts themselves. Calista was one of a kind, and Larissa knew it.
For both Calista and Larissa, Nevermore was pivotal in their relationship. There, they met and became friends. Calista was the first and, for a long time, the only one who knew of Larissa's abilities. Being her roommate, Morticia eventually finds out and uses this knowledge for her benefit despite keeping it a secret. The other students were never interested in Larissa; they thought she was too bizarre and a shadow of Morticia, so she never had much difficulty hiding who she was.
Rebeca's education was all done at a normie school. However, being from an outcast family and participating in a community of shapeshifters, she never felt the need to study in outcast-only institutions. She knew Nevermore's fame the respect and importance of the school, but her youthful curiosity was never awakened, and her family did not see the need to isolate the girl from the rest of the world.
As the conversation progressed, Artemis occasionally became the main topic. Calista told Rebeca how similar the girl was to Larissa, even though they were not mother and daughter. Upon seeing a photograph of the girl, Rebeca was stunned, and her endless list of questions made Calista retell her entire story with Larissa and Gaia. The possibility of Artemis being a chimera and having inherited Larissa's powers when shifters occur spontaneously excited Rebeca. She needed to report this discovery to the community.
Larissa and Calista were not opposed to disclosing the information but were concerned about the girl's reaction. Furthermore, Dr. Maina had yet to announce the results of the genetic tests. Rebeca understood all the issues surrounding this matter and promised not to take this matter to the shifter community until appropriate. Artemis should also agree. Still, she asked permission to share the information with her wife, and Calista and Larissa understood this partnership very well and allowed it.
The conditions that led to Artemis' shapeshifter inheritance allowed Calista and Larissa to ask Rebeca how her daughter's conception occurred. It was evident that all paths would lead to this subject sooner or later, and by the time Rebeca's story began, the three already felt comfortable talking about personal matters. As Calista was not a shifter, the basic knowledge of the species needed to be shared.
Rebeca began her story by recalling that a shapeshifter occurs spontaneously and, therefore, can be descended from normies or other outcasts. The fact that Artemis inherited this ability from Larissa and yet they are not mother and daughter is, until that moment, the only event known to Rebeca, and, therefore, both she and Dr. Maina are interested in the case.
Shifter knows their abilities from a very early age. Sudden mood swings or hormonal changes make them susceptible to an unintentional shift. That's how most people find out. And from the moment it occurs, the perception of oneself increases. A shapeshifter feels every part of your body. The discomforts, the pains, the pleasures are intensely felt. Therefore, it is common for the most marginalized individuals to use drugs and alcohol to numb. Neurodepressant medications can also be used and give the sensation of sensory loss. Calista remembered that Artemis couldn't feel her entire head when she needed to be anesthetized after the Christmas accident.
Once they know their abilities, simply contact the target for the shift to occur. The newer the shapeshifter is, the less control they have, and life energy is quickly drained. Therefore, it is common for shifter children to sleep more, feel hungrier, and prefer high-energy foods. In the case of Larissa and Artemis, hot chocolate is the primary source of energy replenishment, as Calista recalled.
It is with genetic material that the shapeshifter learns to transform into another person. But, the change is only superficial at first. Teaching the body to function and behave properly is necessary, so practice and observation of the target are essential. As the shifter transforms into the same person several times, the similarities become greater until there comes a time when it is impossible to distinguish one from the other. From then on, it is possible to change only one part of the body when shift control is total, as the intended anatomy is known.
Improving skills comes from constantly changing shape and studying anatomy and physiology. There are shapeshifters whose primary form is unknown since a new identity was created with the mastery of their abilities. These are the most assertive individuals; the path is more effortless for them. But in theory, all shapeshifters can change their real identity and maintain it for long periods.
It was during these studies that Rebeca and her wife discovered that they would be able to conceive a child themselves. However, she needed to transform into a man entirely, spend enough time in that form, and behave in a masculine way long enough for her body to learn to function like a male body. And it was precisely this information that caught Larissa and Calista by surprise.
The anatomical change that Larissa performed was superficial. Only a tiny part of her body changed; the rest was still her natural form. For Larissa to acquire the ability to impregnate Calista, she needed to learn how a man's body worked and not just a small part. That was the big challenge. Neither Calista nor Larissa had been sexually involved with men, so the total anatomical and physiological change brought a certain discomfort to both of them.
When Rebeca and her wife learned that this was how conception would occur, neither of them objected. They had already had relationships with men before, so this was not an impediment. Rebeca's wife demanded that she transform into someone completely unknown, and with that, Rebeca learned to modify her appearance, creating a totally new identity based on her physical characteristics.
Creating a new self for Larissa wouldn't be a problem because that's how she mastered the art of modifying just her genitals. However, she had never used her male form long enough to have sexual experiences. It was the first time Calista had heard this information, and her curiosity to know Larissa's male form was sparked. After all, it would still be Larissa. She saved this information for a time when the two were alone and turned her attention to Rebeca.
It was not necessary to have sexual intercourse for the body to acquire these abilities, Rebeca pointed out assertively. Masturbation as a man would teach the body, but the process would be slower. The performance of the sexual act would be a shorter path to total transformation. Only after acquiring complete anatomical and physiological knowledge of a male individual would Larissa be able to impregnate Calista using her natural form.
"I know the information causes strangeness and discomfort," Rebeca said at the end of the conversation. "But you need to know the whole process and be aware of what you must do to conceive a child of your own."
"We're in this together," Calista said, grabbing Larissa's hand and looking her in the eyes. "And we'll do whatever it takes together."
Before leaving, Rebeca passed on the contact details of some members of the shapeshifter community to Larissa and was available to help her join the group if she so desired. The community was receptive, and with Larissa running a school for outcasts, it would be easy to fit in without needing to involve her history with Artemis and Calista.
Calista wanted Larissa to form closer ties with other shifters and knew this support would also be necessary for her children. Larissa had a challenging childhood, being rejected by her prejudiced family and having to learn about herself alone, without help, and with almost no friends. Therefore, she promised Rebeca that Larissa would keep in touch with the other shifters and thanked her for her willingness to travel to Jericho to help them.
For Larissa, all of that was too much information. She was ecstatic. Now, she knew how to use her skills to get Calista pregnant, even if it might cause her embarrassment. The people who saw her male form didn't realize it was Larissa. Not even Morticia knew it, as Larissa had created this new identity when she attended university.
It had been years since Larissa had transformed into her male self; she had already forgotten what her body looked like with masculine features. Therefore, she preferred to have her first experiences alone. Calista understood this need. Of course, she would like to participate in the whole process. Of course, she was curious to see Larissa's male form, but she knew her beloved's limitations, insecurity, and self-consciousness. Thus, she accepted Larissa got used to her masculine self again before she could show it.
After Rebeca's visit, Dr. Maina contacted Calista to inform her that the genetic test results were ready. He wanted to reunite with her, Larissa, Artemis, and Gaia again to publicize them. But Calista didn't wish for the new meeting to occur at the Hospital again. She was already fed up with this hospital environment. So, Larissa suggested they meet at her office in Nevermore, and Dr. Maina was happy to accept the invitation.
On a weekend afternoon, when the students were free to visit the city, Dr. Maina arrived at the Academy and was welcomed by Larissa and Calista at the school doors. The time was chosen precisely to avoid the geneticist meeting with the students, preventing speculation about his visit from being made and preserving the privacy of Artemis and Gaia. Furthermore, Larissa would like to show the Nevermore facilities to the Doctor since it was his first visit.
The doctor was impressed with the school's infrastructure. The biology laboratory was what caught his attention the most. Larissa was a proud principal of her school and showed every corner of the buildings, telling about their history and talking about the students' curriculum. The painting and music rooms were also to Dr. Maina's liking as he was a profound lover of the arts. But it was the library that brought a broad smile from the doctor. The books covered diverse knowledge of the life and culture of the outcasts. Of course, there were volumes on the life sciences and normies, but that would be the case in any other library. Nevermore had a vast collection when it came to outcasts, and this did not go unnoticed in the doctor's eyes.
At the end of the visit, Larissa and Dr. Maina were arranging a master class for the beginning of the next academic year and the selection of the best students in the science area for an internship in his laboratory. Calista considered it another demonstration of Larissa's love and dedication to the school. She accompanied the two during the visit and saw nothing less than a passionate Larissa presenting Nevermore as a proud mother of a son; the favorable outcome came naturally.
After the visit, the three met with Artemis and Gaia in Larissa's office for a conversation and afternoon tea in front of the fireplace. Unlike in the last meeting between them, Artemis was now calm and confident. Her physical appearance was not changed, and the girl looked serene. However, she was anxious to hear the results of the exams — Dr. Maina was not a man to beat around the bush, so as soon as they were seated and before they had even helped themselves to tea, he opened the envelope that contained the information that the other four wanted to hear.
The genetic test demonstrated what the doctor already suspected. Artemis was a chimera and possessed the genetic material of Calista, the sperm donor, and Larissa. The percentage of Larissa's genetic material was insufficient for the two to have any degree of kinship. Still, the transferred genes were predominant and determined that Artemis's physical characteristics and shapeshifting ability were identical to Larissa's. The doctor also confirmed, among his contacts, that the donor was indeed a normie, as he previously identified himself.
The answer to Artemis's genetic makeup lay in Calista. In all ten eggs collected by Dr. Maina, Larissa's genes were observed in the same chromosomal patterns. However, there was genetic variability on Calista's part during her gamete formation. Larissa's genes continued to be present in the same positions and quantities.
Thus, if they could conceive a child, it would have the same dominant characteristics presented by Artemis and Larissa. However, this new life would not be considered a chimera, as it would only have the genetic material of Calista and Larissa. Thus, there was a chance that some of Calista's genes would stand out over others of Larissa.
All of this information was familiar to them, so there was no surprise as the doctor detailed the results. The big question was how Larissa's genetics and Calista's imprinted eggs would influence the genetics of a possible future child. When asked about the process, the two said they were studying the possibilities, but neither wanted to mention Rebeca's visit.
Artemis was very excited about possibly having a brother or sister like her. For someone who spent much of her life feeling like she didn't have a place in the world, she now envisioned a life where she felt welcomed. Her mothers, although divorced, got along well. She and Larissa had created a bond of friendship and companionship beyond genetic similarities. And now there was the real chance of a sibling. The girl was over the moon.
With two critical visits in the first two weeks of the year, Calista can imagine the next few months would be busy. She and Larissa were now tasked with planning a wedding celebration and conceiving a child. For Calista, the wedding alone would be reason enough to make her nervous and anxious. Still, she saw a very confident and excited Larissa and knew she would have all the support she needed to deal with the coming changes.

Pushing Towards You
Chapter 20: New Year's Resolution
Tumblr media
On the morning of the last day of the year, Calista was practicing telekinesis with the girl on the balcony of Artemis's room. The newly discovered skills needed to be improved so that new accidents would happen, even in an attempt to avoid them. The New Year's party was practically all organized, so the mother and daughter took some time for themselves.
Artemis was patient. Learning her skills as a shapeshifter made her resilient, and as she improved, her body control increased. This way, she found it easy to learn to control objects from a certain distance. Still, when she managed to keep them levitating in the air or even bring them to her hand, the girl became anxious and often lost control.
It was still impossible to know which material was most accessible to move; Calista took a while to realize her preference. It was a delicate exercise in body perception. Artemis was already practicing this perception with shapeshifting, so Calista couldn't tell if one skill hindered the other or helped. Only time and practice would reveal whether Artemis would be good at telekinesis or if it would be a secondary skill used in cases of extreme need.
It didn't matter to Calista whether this new ability was so powerful. She was ecstatic about the possibility of teaching her daughter something. Artemis was always different from her and Gaia. The mothers had to learn many things about shapeshifting to connect emotionally with their daughter. Still, neither of them could deeply understand all the difficulties that Artemis faced.
For obvious reasons, Larissa was the only one who managed to help Artemis become who she was. Private lessons helped the girl control and improve her shapeshifting skills. Artemis was now more confident and calm. And the girl, as time passed, the two became closer. After the relationship between Calista and Larissa came to light and the possible connection with Larissa became evident, the girl seemed to blossom even more. Artemis was now confident in herself; she knew her strengths and was aware of her weaknesses. In this way, little by little, she began to love herself.
This way, for Calista, teaching telekinesis became easier. It wasn't Artemis's primary skill, so the girl, although dedicated and willing to learn, didn't put too much pressure on herself. She paid attention to everything her mother said and repeated the same way she was told; sometimes she was wrong, sometimes she was right, but the girl didn't care; she liked this closeness with her mother.
"So, how are things with Ms. Weems?" Artemis asked as she tried to move a tray of cups.
"What do you mean?" Calista watched as the tray slowly moved and began to levitate on the table, slightly crooked.
"Well, you know. At Christmas, you guys talked about marriage and kids." Artemis tried to balance the tray, which became more and more crooked. "Today is the last day of the year. I want to see if the idea is valid or if all that talk was about the Christmas atmosphere."
"Well, there hasn't been an official marriage proposal." Calista prepared to help Artemis as the cups slid down the tray's lowered side. "But yes, the idea remains the same. I think recent events have put everything on hold."
Calista purposely left the shapeshifting couple's visit out of the conversation. She didn't know how this meeting would take place, and she also wasn't ready to talk to her daughter about the type of body shifting necessary for her to get pregnant.
"Sorry about that." The girl began to balance the tray and slowly moved it from one table to the other. "My little accident slowed things down."
"No need to apologize, my precious." Calista relaxed her body when she realized that her daughter was controlling the situation. "Larissa and I are adults. We've waited a long time to be together. Your accident didn't delay anything. I noticed you two getting even closer."
"We really got closer." Artemis moved the tray with the cups to the other table without knocking anything over and was happy with herself. "I think she will be a good wife. And a good mother in the future." She smiled at Calista.
"I think you're right about that." Calista was smiling at her daughter's achievement and her words regarding Larissa.
----------
Late in the morning, Calista headed to Larissa's office. The two hadn't seen each other since breakfast, and as Calista spent the whole morning with Artemis, she wanted to know if everything was already organized for the party or if she could help with anything else. She knocked briefly on the door, opened it without waiting for a response, and poked her head inside. Larissa was there, as always, working on her laptop, but this time, her gaze met Calista's, and she smiled.
"Hello, you." Larissa leaned back in her seat, moving away from the desk to welcome Calista into her arms. "I've been wondering where you were all morning."
"Did you miss me?" Calista sat on Larissa's lap and pecked her lips.
"Always, my dear." Larissa wrapped her arms around Calista's body, pressing against hers.
"I was with Artemis." Calista closed her hands behind the blonde's neck. "We were practicing telekinesis. She's talented. With a little training, she gets the hang of it."
"And with such a teacher. Easy to learn." Larissa moved forward to kiss Calista.
"Trying to seduce me, Principal Weems?" Calista smiled between kisses.
"Is it working?" Larissa moved her hand under the hem of Calista's shirt.
"Yes." Calista adjusted herself on Larissa's lap, placing the legs on either side of her thighs, keeping their lips attached.
Larissa's hands went up Calista's back until they found the clasp of her bra. Skillfully, she opened it, releasing Calista's breasts, which Larissa quickly cupped. Squeezing and running her thumbs over Calista's nipples, Larissa made her squirm and moan between kisses.
Larissa's mouth, reluctantly, moved away from Calista's lips and went down her neck, kissing and nibbling until she found the base of her neck. Calista bent her head to the opposite side to allow greater access to Larissa's lips while her fingers got tangled in the platinum hair, ruining the entire bun.
The door wasn't locked, and without letting go of Larissa's body, Calista moved her hand towards it and heard the key turning. Unconcerned, she grabbed the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head, revealing her breasts that hung in Larissa's face.
Larissa mouthed one of Calista's breasts, biting and sucking the nipples while her hand played and caressed the other breast. Calista felt the tickle between her legs and instinctively moved her hips, looking for some friction, but her jeans prevented any contact.
Holding Larissa by the shoulders, Calista stood up to remove her jeans under the other's protests at the loss of contact between their bodies. Quickly, the pants and panties lay in the corner of the room, and Calista was back straddling Larissa's lap, completely naked.
Larissa supported Calista's back with her hands while she attacked her breasts and nipples. Calista arched her body backward and moaned loudly while thrusting her hips toward Larissa's waist, trying to relieve the throbbing pain she felt between her legs.
"Riss, please," Calista whispered.
"Please, what, my darling?" Larissa smirked.
"I need you inside me." Calista managed to say between moans.
Quickly, Larissa's hands went down Calista's thighs until they reached the fabric of her skirt. She pulled her skirt up and her panties down, and there was the hard bulge. Larissa put her arm around Calista's waist and gave a tug; with the other hand, she held her shifted dick, directing it towards Calista's entrance.
There was no resistance; Calista was soaked. The wet noise mixed with Larissa and Calista's moans. Calista's hands went up to the back of the armchair behind Larissa. She held on tight and increased the speed of her thrusts. Larissa kept her hands on Calista's waist, guiding her movements while she sucked her nipples.
Calista and Larissa weren't going to last long, and they weren't even trying to make it. One desperately wanted the other as if they hadn't touched each other in a long time. Calista increased her speed and pressed her body against Larissa's to increase their contact further. Larissa was the first to give in, cumming, moaning loudly, and resting her head on Calista's chest. A few thrusts later, Calista came, relaxing her body on top of Larissa's shoulders.
The two hugged for a few minutes in silence, catching their breath. When the office phone rang, Calista was about to suggest that the two of them go to the bedroom. The last lunch of the year was ready, and everyone was waiting for Larissa and Calista. After a quick shower, with no time for more caressing and making out, the two headed to the Academy cafeteria.
----------
The New Year's party took place in the Academy's garden. The pillars were decorated with white lights and balloons, and tables with drinks and food were spread around the area. Few people had stayed at school for the end-of-the-year festivities, but Larissa made sure to throw a happy and well-stocked party for everyone.
A dance floor was set up in the middle of the garden, and a clock was installed above the main entrance for the countdown. Larissa was pleased with herself. Traditionally, she chaperoned Nevermore parties, but not that night. Larissa wanted to end the year with the people she loved, having as much fun as them.
Calista took advantage of Larissa's disposition and dragged her to the dance floor several times. None of her attempts were denied, and the two danced much of the night, accompanied by an ecstatic Artemis. From time to time, Gaia appeared in the group, but spontaneously, she took Larissa's place and checked that all the food and drink stations were adequately stocked and that everyone was having fun.
Everyone was having a great night. The last time Calista had seen such a relaxed Larissa was at the school reunion. The camera was no longer with her; it had become a relic among Calista's belongings, but she could record all those moments with her cell phone. Artemis and Larissa smiling and having fun on the dance floor. Larissa hugging her from behind in a typical and cliché couple photo.
As the night went on and midnight approached, Larissa became a little more agitated, and Calista didn't know why. It could be the feeling of anticipation for the first fireworks display that would take place in Nevermore. Larissa moved around the garden for the first time that night to talk to those responsible for the music and the pyrotechnic show.
Minutes before midnight, Larissa disappeared. Calista looked around to look for her, but she was nowhere to be found. When the last minute of the year began, Calista was apprehensive about the director's absence. Artemis noticed and put her arm around her mother's shoulders to calm her down. “It's impossible that a new year would begin and Larissa wouldn't be by her side” - Calista thought.
As the countdown began, Calista felt a second hand on her shoulder and the approach of a body to hers. Looking back, she saw a smiling Larissa and received a kiss on the cheek. Now calm, Calista could enjoy the beauty of the fireworks chosen by Artemis and the beginning of another year alongside the people she loved most.
The fireworks display lasted a few minutes. Artemis had chosen the most colorful and noisy fireworks. Silence fell when the last one burst into the sky, and the flash dissipated. Before, people hugged and wished each other a happy new year; now, everyone was standing looking at the center of the garden, right where Calista was standing.
Calista turned around, looking for what caught everyone's attention, and came across a Larissa kneeling, in the old-fashioned way, with a small box in her hand and a pair of rings inside. Calista was stunned.
"I don't know if people nowadays still get down on one knee to ask each other to marry them." Larissa began. "But when we met, they did. And that's where our story began."
"I spent the whole week looking for the right words to describe everything I feel for you and how much I want to spend the rest of my life by your side." Larissa's voice was choked but remained firm, with her eyes fixed on Calista.
"But no word in the vernacular would be able to translate all the sensations I experience every time I look at you. Every smile, every hug."
"Lis, will you marry me?" Larissa finally asked. "Will you marry me and allow me to make you feel everything you make me feel?"
"Of course I will." Calista responded without blinking. "Come here." She reached out her hand to help Larissa up.
The two kissed passionately. Calista felt Larissa's arms wrap around her waist and briefly lifted her off the ground. Around them, they heard a roar of applause and Artemis's excited screams.
"Vernacular?" Calista mouthed as soon as Larissa released her.
"Sorry, I get really British when I'm nervous." Larissa replied, blushing.
Larissa placed the ring on Calista's finger, and Calista did the same to Larissa. Strangely enough, Calista's wedding ring fit perfectly. She didn't wear rings, a habit acquired with her profession, so she wondered how Larissa knew the size of her finger. But Artemis approached smiling, showing her hand. She was beginning to master the art of shifting just one body part. Calista now looked at her own hand where her daughter's hand used to be.
On the day they bought the fireworks, they also bought the rings. Calista began to understand that the closeness between Larissa and Artemis, little by little, became complicity.
The night ended as it began, with Calista, Larissa, and Artemis dancing. Gaia approached the couple and congratulated them, wishing them happiness. But she was committed to the tasks she took upon herself, so she also ended the night, ensuring everything was tidy.
The year began with a wedding to be planned.

Pushing Towards You
Chapter 19: Tender Moments
Tumblr media
Calista burst through the emergency room door at the Jericho hospital with Larissa in her shoes. She walked hurriedly to the point of almost running for a tall and long-legged Larissa. The pace was not fast, and she could follow Calista closely. The drive to the hospital had been short, and Larissa was so apprehensive that she couldn't utter any words and concentrated on driving as fast as she was allowed.
At the hospital, Calista went to the nearest medical center and identified herself as Artemis' mother. Larissa listened as the nurse said that only the family would be allowed access to the room where the girl was taken, glancing at her. But Calista would have none of that. She identified Gaia as his ex-wife and mother of Artemis and Larissa as his current wife.
Dragging Larissa by the hand, Calista raised her voice a little to tell the nurse that they were all members of the girl's family and, therefore, they were all going to enter the room. With her eyes wide with fright, Larissa smiled slightly when she heard Calista and allowed herself to be taken to where Artemis and Gaia were.
The hospital corridors were empty and silent the day after Christmas; only the hurried footsteps of Calista and Larissa, guided by the nurse, could be heard. She showed the room door and said the doctor would come by to report the girl's health status in the next few minutes.
Calista held her breath and opened the bedroom door, ready to see her daughter lying unconscious in the hospital bed. But instead, Artemis was sitting on the bed, with her head bandaged, smilingly talking to Gaia. The sight of the two of them there, calm, made Calista slow down and cry now that the shock of the news had passed. Larissa hugged and kissed her head, comforting her for a few seconds.
Artemis seemed confused by her mother's reaction, but Gaia understood perfectly what was happening in Calista's head. The girl had never scared her like that, even though she was a very active child. Larissa whispered to Calista, assuring her that the girl was okay and that she could calm down. At the same time, she looked helplessly at Gaia, who found the scene amusing.
As the school's principal for teenagers, Larissa had already witnessed scenes like that and helped several of her students when injured. But it was the first time this student was also the daughter of her future wife, and she had to comfort the mother using more than words and a compassionate pat on the back or even ensure that the Academy would provide all necessary assistance for the student's full recovery.
Going to the two, Gaia held Calista by the elbows and pulled her lightly, separating her from Larissa, who no longer knew what to do. The two exchanged looks, and Larissa gave a grateful smile, going to stand at the foot of Artemis's bed. Gaia took Calista to her daughter, only for her to change her embrace from Larissa to Artemis, crying louder.
"Mom, I'm fine." Calista was clinging to Artemis' neck, and the girl was trying to free herself from her mother.
At that moment, the doctor entered the room with the test results. There were no signs of concussion. Artemis was not in danger; everything except the cut on her forehead seemed to be in order. In any case, she would remain in the hospital for another two days to ensure that there would be no surprises. Only after listening to the doctor was Calista able to stop crying.
"What happened?" It was the first thing Calista said since she entered the room and saw that her daughter was okay.
"It seems that our daughter, besides being a shapeshifter, also has telekinesis abilities, as Dr Maina suspected. But she still needs to be refined." Gaia smiled at an Artemis, who looked embarrassed but still found it funny. "I'll get food while this devilish girl tells you what happened. Now that things have calmed down, I bet everyone will start to feel hungry."
Artemis got hurt trying to help Larissa. The three were taking the trail through the Nevermore forest. Larissa led the line, Artemis followed closely behind, and Gaia closed the train. The path was blocked at one point, and Larissa had to lean on a nearby tree branch to get past the blockage. The unit broke and was ready to collide directly with Larissa and knock her to the ground.
Instinctively, Artemis raised her hand and tried to stop the branch. She succeeded; the branch did not collide with Larissa, but in a moment of ecstasy, the girl lost control of her newly discovered abilities and lost focus. The tree branch swayed and tilted towards Artemis; if she hadn't been quick enough, she would have received a more significant blow to the head. Still, the branch briefly collided with her forehead, opening a cut and knocking the girl out.
At this point, Larissa took control of the narrative. With Artemis bleeding and unconscious, she and Gaia needed to bring the girl back to the school grounds so they could take her to the nearest hospital. Larissa was the only one with the strength to carry Artemis in her arms, but Gaia preferred to build a rustic stretcher with tree branches using her skills. Artemis had received a shock to the head, and they didn't want to worsen the injury with excessive movement.
In Nevermore, Larissa gave Gaia the keys to the van to take her to the hospital while she picked up Calista at home. On the way to the apartment, Larissa called Calista to tell her what had happened while Gaia was already going to the emergency room. Artemis said she woke up a little disoriented shortly after arriving at the hospital and quickly underwent the necessary tests. And when Calista and Larissa arrived, she had just been taken to her room.
"You scared me!" Calista sat on the edge of the bed and held her daughter's hand.
"Sorry." The girl responded weakly.
"It's okay, my love." Calista kissed her hand. "I arrived here thinking that something serious had happened. Instead, I receive the news that you are out of danger, in addition to having saved Larissa from a major blow from that branch using skills that no one knew you would have. All of this is represented with a cut on your forehead." She smiled and stroked the side of the girl's head.
"Looks like shapeshifter needs a scar on their face, right?" Artemis looked at Larissa's mouth, where a clear line could be seen beneath the makeup.
"Believe me, your scar was acquired in a context of great bravery." Larissa smiled. "Very different from mine, but that's a story for another time." She exchanged glances with Calista. Of course, Calista knew the origin of the cut that created the scar on Larissa's mouth.
Gaia returned carrying a bag full of cookies, snacks, soft drinks, and sweets. She looked like she had run out of stock from some vending machine. Calista wanted to protest at so much junk food, but before she could say anything, Artemis and Larissa were already eating.
"Lista, they need us to sign some hospitalization papers," Gaia said to Calista, opening a bag of snacks. The two left, leaving Artemis and Larissa alone in the room.
Artemis watched the director for a few seconds and moved to the side, asking Larissa to sit beside her. The principal was surprised; it was the first time the girl had asked for this closeness. Larissa sat beside Artemis, and the two ate silently for a few minutes.
"I can't feel my face." Artemis broke the silence. "I can't feel my whole head."
Larissa laughed. "It's the anesthesia." She explained. "We, shapeshifters, are used to feeling every part of our body to be able to change our anatomy. Under anesthesia, it seems like we have lost the limb completely. I wonder how a person not a shapeshifter is aware of their own body."
"You understand a lot about our kind, Ms. Weems." Artemis rested her head on Larissa's arm as she spoke, catching the woman off guard. "It must have been difficult to learn all this on my own. I'm glad you helped me understand a little more about myself."
Larissa was not used to receiving recognition from students. She didn't even expect it. She looked after them all equally and helped them according to their needs. She did it. After all, she liked it because she felt it was her vocation. But Artemis was different. They were connected somehow, and although the girl hadn't gone through the same thing as her, Artemis knew as little about herself as Larissa did when she discovered her abilities.
Furthermore, Artemis was the daughter of Calista, the love of Larissa's life. Receiving the girl's approval and affection made everything more real and meaningful. Larissa took a while before finding words; she felt a tightness in her chest, an urge to cry. It wasn't a usual feeling.
"First, call me Larissa, honey." She started by resting her head lightly on Artemis's. "I'm happy to be able to help you, and you can count on me whenever you need."
"Thank you, Larissa," Artemis said. "I'm glad you and my mom are together."
Okay, that was it. The tear Larissa was holding back took on a life of its own and rolled down the principal's face. Larissa closed her eyes to try to contain them, feeling a burning sensation, and more tears accumulated and passed freely through her eyelashes.
Calista entered the room precisely at that time. She saw Artemis sitting with her head resting on Larissa's left arm, who was resting her head on the girl's. Larissa seemed genuinely moved, and Artemis seemed unaware of what she was doing to the woman. The scene filled Calista's heart with joy but was quickly interrupted by a Gaia who entered the room complaining of hunger. Quickly, Larissa wiped her tears, and in the process, her eyes met Calista's. The two smiled at each other, but nothing was said.
Artemis spent two more nights in the hospital, uneventfully. In truth, the girl was bored and wanted to return home as soon as possible. As Calista had undergone a procedure a few days before, Gaia sent her home and slept with Artemis until she was discharged.
With the New Year approaching, Larissa was organizing a party for staff and students who, for personal reasons, chose to remain at school. She insisted that Calista was with her during the event's organization, partly because she was already used to her company and opinions and partly because she still wanted to keep an eye on Calista to maintain the rest requested by the doctor.
While Artemis was in the hospital, Calista and Larissa planned the entire New Year's Eve celebration, and everything went as expected. Despite this, Larissa seemed anxious and restless, and Calista could not extract any information from her that would be useful in knowing why. It was natural for Larissa to be agitated by the latest events, but everything was going very well, and Calista did not justify her behavior.
Larissa only seemed to relax after Artemis was discharged from the hospital and was back at school. When the girl arrived, Larissa was in the kitchen, taking care of New Year's dinner details, and could not welcome her with Calista. But, as soon as she got rid of all the pending tasks, Larissa went to the girl's room to check on her.
Since the day Calista caught Larissa and Artemis talking in the hospital room, she noticed that the two were closer, and with the girl's return to Nevermore, Larissa relaxed her vigil over Calista and transferred it to Artemis. One morning, Calista didn't notice their absence until she saw them arrive in Larissa's car at school. They seemed to be having an animated conversation, which was promptly interrupted as soon as they came face to face with Calista.
"Thank you so much for getting in touch. We'll talk next year. Happy Holidays." Larissa was finishing a call in her office when Calista entered the room.
"Good news?" Calista asked, walking around the desk and sitting on the edge of it. "Or can’t you tell me because my daughter is now your best friend?"
Larissa laughed at the provocation and pushed her chair back, opening her arms and signaling Calista to sit on her lap.
"Jealous of Artemis? I thought you wanted us to be friends." Larissa kissed Calista's shoulder as soon as she sat on her lap.
"Of course not; I love your closeness," Calista responded with a sniff of Larissa's neck, snuggling into her lap. "Who was that on the phone? You seem happy."
"That was the shapeshifter lady who got her wife pregnant. She was interested in our story and will come to Nevermore after New Year's to meet us." Larissa had a broad smile on her face and looked at Calista expectantly.
"So, she's going to help us?" Calista now had her head resting in the crook of Larissa's neck.
"Mhmm." Larissa nodded, wrapping her arms around Calista and pressing her against her body. "Looks like we're having a baby."
"Thanks, Riss," Calista said softly.
"For what, my love?" Larissa was surprised by this gratitude.
"For taking care of me and Artemis. For being willing to go deeper into your shapeshifter knowledge. I think it's going to be a busy year." Calista said, raising her head to look at Larissa.
"You and Artemis are my family now; I will always care for you." Larissa kissed Calista's forehead. "Even Gaia is family, but I don't think she would let me take care of her. It would be too unconventional." Larissa chuckled, accompanied by Calista.
The two spent the afternoon at the office discussing what New Year's Eve would be like. Larissa had prepared a supper in the garden like the school remnants and a fireworks display at midnight. According to her, Artemis was responsible for the idea of the fireworks, and that morning, they had gone to the city to buy pyrotechnic items.
For safety reasons, Larissa had never proposed anything like this at school, but everything seemed to make more sense this year. After her near-death episode until her reunion with Calista, Larissa appeared to give a new meaning to many events that, before, seemed protocol. Calista loved this new disposition and saw in her partner a genuine desire to stop being a workaholic and become the head of a family.
