i would love any advice you have on being butch in summer. i feel like i struggle finding clothing that’s cool enough but doesn’t show off too much of my feminine features i guess.

a lot of my wardrobe in summer is just swim shorts, a tank top, sandals, and binding tape. i find that i physically cannot use a cloth binder in the warmer months because i literally get so hot i pass out.

aside from that, focus on using breathable, light fabrics like cotton or linen. swim shorts, a tank, and a short sleeve button up with all the buttons undone is a good look. like a hawaiian shirt. it’s hard to look masc in summer, i’m not gonna lie. so personally i always prioritize staying cool over looking masc, but that might just be me!!

Is tape comfortable in ur experience! It looks so comfortable but then I saw some people say it can cause skin irritation or something?

it can cause skin irritation in some people! it all comes down to what type of tape you use and your own skin type. i personally am not allergic to the adhesive, nor do i have particularly sensitive skin, so it’s all good for me.

it’s best to use a little test strip to be sure before putting a whole strip on to make sure you’re not allergic to the adhesive. always make sure you’re using medical tape only - so that’ll be KT Tape, transtape, or something similar.

some of the people who say it caused skin irritation are… also not using it right, to be real. like when they take it off, they do it dry. no hot water or baby oil or anything, so they sometimes rip the skin. don’t do that. i always take mine off in a hot shower and i have no issues. if you have sensitive-leaning skin though, definitely use body oil of some kind and let it soak in a little before removal.

also keep in mind that it’s not meant to be removed daily - most people leave it on for 3-4 days, and it’s good to give your skin a break between taping days.

positioning the tape can take a couple tries, so don’t be discouraged if it looks fucked up the first time you do it. it’s a skill and you will get better at it!

Have you also hard a reconsideration of country and classical music lately? I feel like that supposed to be happening to people

i never had a phase where i DIDN’T like classical music. truly i think it’s the most versatile and evocative genre. it can be sad and despairing, it can be intense and angry, it can be nostalgic and wistful, it can even be funny. mahler and rachmaninoff are my favorites - let me know if y’all want recs.

as for country, i grew up on bluegrass which i guess i’d consider a flavor of country. i don’t seek it out anymore, but i always enjoy it when i listen to it. as for modern day country with lyrics and stuff, no, i don’t particularly enjoy it. mainly because the lyrics are always boring. i can get behind some orville peck, however.

How to find bras that give a masc look that are also comfortable?

levi’s are ALWAYS my go-to. although i’d argue that a solid top can also help that for you - sometimes your shirt can play into how wide your hips looks as well, oddly enough. a good boxy t-shirt can work wonders. for specific recs, i’d look into transmasculine spaces - they tend to have a real good grasp on this stuff.

although, do remember that there is absolutely nothing less butch about having wide hips. when i think of some of my favorite butches, almost all of them have wider hips. i think there’s something really beautiful about it - im not sure how to articulate it though.
