I am so sorry to bother you with this stupid question, but Bisan has asked for a complete stop in economic activity. Can I still donate to help Palestinians or is it better to avoid any transactions for the week ? Thank you so much for what you're doing
hello anon. don't apologise, you're a breath of fresh air after the recent visitors in my inbox. I think a slightly more accurate description of Bisan’s ask is to stop or minimise all economic activity not in direct support of Palestine. Now more than ever, I would encourage people to donate to escape funds for Palestinians, to direct aid organisations like CareforGaza and the PCRF, and to buy e-sims as they’re running low.
Below I’ve compiled a list of resources below but this is definitely just a small sample size of what you can do to help during this strike. This post here is an extremely comprehensive resource that I’d recommend you have a look at.
credible organisations that are doing work on the ground in Palestine:
Care for Gaza:non-profit charity that distributes money, food and other resources directly to families in Gaza. They maintain a regular presence on Twitter and Instagram. You can donate to them via Paypal here.
PCRF / Palestine Children's Relief Fund: non-profit organisation that distributes essential food and resources to families in Gaza. Most recently, they delivered 30 tons of vital medicine, and 82,000 pounds of flour.
Medical Aid For Palestinians: deploys medical teams to treat Palestinians suffering under Israel's malicious bombardments.
Donate e-sims to Palestine: massive post with tutorials and relevant links, with discount codes included in the post and in the replies.
help people leave palestine (donate what you can)
Help a Family Evacuate Gaza (GoGetFunding)
Save Sanaa and her Family (Gofundme)
Save Amjad Saher and his family (Gofundme)
Help a family of 13 escape Gaza (Gofundme)
Help a Palestinian children's book illustrator save her family of 12 (Gofundme)

“Wonders Never Cease”
[Last week]
Kotetsu and Barnaby are sitting at their desks, and Kotetsu is talking animatedly.
Kotetsu: HEY I know you don’t have plans, so-
[Present]
September 1980 N.C.: Wild Tiger and Barnaby Brooks Jr. have a few days vacation before the new season, so Kotetsu invites Barnaby to visit his hometown.
Kotetsu and Barnaby are in the Kaburagi home’s kitchen, having a drink or two at the table with Anju.
Anju: Well boys, I’m calling it a night.
Barnaby: Goodnight, Anju-san.
Anju: Don’t stay up too late.
Kotetsu: Yeah, yeah mom.
The clock shows that it’s nearly midnight.
Barnaby: It’s amazing how quiet it is at this hour compared to the city.
Kotetsu: That reminds me- there’s something I wanted to show you.
—
Kotetsu: C’mon, grab your shoes!
Barnaby: Right now?!
Kotetsu jumps from the table and heads into another room toward the back sliding door.
Barnaby: You’re going to wake everyone.
Kotetsu stops him at the door.
Kotetsu: Ah, hang on- keep your eyes on the ground while we walk.
Barnaby: …
Kotetsu: It’ll be worth it, trust me.
Barnaby: If you say so.
They head outside, and Kotetsu waves a hand in front of Barnaby’s eyes to remind him not to look up, and they trek some ways away from the house.
—
Kotetsu: Almost there.
They ascend a hill.
Kotetsu: Alright!
Kotetsu: You can look up now.
Barnaby: I don’t see why-
Barnaby looks up, the reflection of stars on his eyes.
Barnaby: Oh.
—
The night sky is filled with stars, much brighter than they are in the city.
Kotetsu: Pretty cool, huh?
Kotetsu: Can’t get this in the city.
Barnaby: It’s incredible.
Kotetsu: When I was a kid, I used to stay up late and climb this same hill. Watch the stars for a few hours, think about my future. Sometimes I’d even fall asleep out here.
Kotetsu moves to lay back in the grass with his arms folded behind his head.
Kotetsu: I always woke up in my own room, though.
Barnaby: So you have a longstanding tradition of causing trouble for others.
Kotetsu: Shaddup you!
—
Kotetsu: And get down here in the grass.
Kotetsu points at Barnaby and pats the grass next to him. Barnaby doesn’t appear too keen.
Barnaby: …
Kotetsu: It’s part of the experience!!
Barnaby acquiesces and lays down in the grass too, and Kotetsu is pleasantly surprised.
Kotetsu: So?
Barnaby: I suppose this is rather nice.
Kotetsu: Told ya.
They talk for a while and time passes. At some point, Kotetsu mentions the story about the rabbit on the moon. The moon has traveled across the sky a bit as they settle into a comfortable silence.
—
Barnaby: …hey.
Barnaby: Thank you for sharing this with me.
[Literal crickets]
Barnaby turns to the side to see why Kotetsu hasn’t replied.
Barnaby: Kotets-
Kotetsu: SNOOOORE
Barnaby: Ah. Past your bedtime, old man?
—
Barnaby reaches over to Kotetsu’s arm to wake him.
Barnaby: The last few weeks have been busy; we should head back so you can get some proper rest.
Kotetsu flips over to face away from Barnaby and continues sleeping.
Barnaby: Fine, you can sleep out here.
Barnaby stands to leave, and begins walking back down the hill.
Barnaby: I’m leaving now.
Barnaby: I mean it.
Kotetsu flips back to his back, still asleep. Barnaby walks back up the hill a few moments later.
Barnaby: You’re unbelievable.
Barnaby moves to lift Kotetsu in his arms.
Barnaby: Come on, let’s go.
—
Barnaby carries Kotetsu down the hill, and some ways toward the house until something catches his attention. He slows before coming to a stop, and glances down at Kotetsu.
Barnaby, thinking: It’s rare to see him so quiet. He looks…
—
Barnaby smiles gently at Kotetsu. At almost the same moment, Kotetsu peeks one eye open.
Kotetsu: Bunny~
Kotetsu: Why’d we stop walk-
Barnaby startles and jolts his arms back, dropping Kotetsu.
Kotetsu: Hm.
Kotetsu falls and lays on the ground while Barnaby silently steps away, adjusting his glasses. A moment later, Kotetsu sits up, muttering “ow” several times under his breath.
Kotetsu: Bunny… what the heck was that-
Barnaby: You startled me.
Kotetsu: So you dropped me?!
—
Barnaby does the anime glasses thing and looms in front of Kotetsu.
Barnaby: More importantly, were you pretending to sleep just so I would carry you back?
Kotetsu glances away, looking decidedly guilty, before turning back to Barnaby.
Kotetsu: NO! I was actually asleep!
Kotetsu: At first, anyway-
Barnaby doesn’t look impressed.
—
Kotetsu: Look, I’ll just close my eyes again-
Barnaby: Not going to happen.
Barnaby continues on past Kotetsu and glances back over his shoulder.
Barnaby: I think you can walk.
Kotetsu: Owwww okay, okay.
Kotetsu stands, brushing off his pants.
Kotetsu: It was kinda nice though, y’know?
Kotetsu: When you’re tired and the last thing you wanna think about is getting up… Anyway, it had just been a long time since someone did that for me.
Barnaby stops walking, a fond expression on his face. He has a glint in his eye as he suddenly turns around.
—
Barnaby marches toward Kotetsu purposefully, arms out.
Kotetsu: Eh? What’s with you-
In one swift movement, Barnaby crouches down and scoops Kotetsu back up in his arms.
Kotetsu: EH!? BUNNY!
Barnaby stands again, and they both grin at each other.
Kotetsu: AHA-HA! You had a change of heart!
Barnaby: You would sulk the entire walk back if I didn’t.
Kotetsu: WOULD NOT! Forget what I said, put me down-
Barnaby: Nope, too late.
Barnaby continues walking, and Kotetsu wraps an arm around the back of Barnaby’s shoulders to keep himself steady.
Kotetsu: So… is now a good time to tell you the house is back the other way?
Barnaby: Ah.
[End]
