I can't stop thinking about how tragic her life was.

she was born in the ashes of her mother. she had no parents.

the first thing the cult did was make her a god to their religion. she was separated from everyone. she had violent outbursts and no one to talk to. a god never complains to its subjects.

then she was sent away to hilltop road, where she was still seen as different or "scary," and all the kids she knew there were being killed.

when she met Jack, she told him that it must be nice to not have a destiny. because her story was laid out in front of her from the moment she was born.

she kissed Jack, who was probably the first ever person to treat her like a human, and hurt him in the process.

the last thing we hear about her life is that she had killed herself in her flat.

and it makes me so sad to think that she didn't know how to be a person. she never had any friends other than the people worshipping her. jude perry loved her as a woman and a god, not just a woman. the only person to treat her normally was horribly wounded by her affection.

she should have just been a girl.

insane how we get a statement from everybody and their mama except Agnes Montague. Defined by everyone around her except herself. The cult, she's the center of their world, but what was she really like? All we have are people's interpretations.

this is literally me right now.

You know sometimes I think about how in the plot description of the magnus protocol it’s stated that the magnus institute burned down in 1999. This did not happen in the original series so it obviously takes place in a alternative universe, and seeing as Gertrude attempted to burn down the archive originally, maybe in this universe she succeeded by executing the plan way earlier.

So now there’s an intresting thing about the episode that first hints to multiple dimensions in TMA. In mag 114 a cleaner named Anya Villette accidentally falls through the crack in reality at hil top road. She traveled from a different universe to the one we listen to. Notable is that in Anya’s original universe the tree at hil top road was still standing, implying Agnes was still alive there in 2009. (Agnes died in 2006)

That PLUS the fact Jonny has said he would’ve loved to elaborate on Agnes’s character, I have come to the conclusion that Agnes and Gertrude are still alive in magnus protocol.

Klaus is the absolute most accepting sibling of the Hargreeves and you can’t convince me otherwise. Finds out Ben is falling for a living member of his cult that he doesn’t know the name of? Sure Ben, you can possess me to hang with her. Finds out Allison got married to a guy from the 1960s that he met earlier that day in jail? Gets him out of jail no questions asked. He’s family. Finds out Viktor is in a situationship with a married housewife from the 1960s who he first met while she was aiming a gun at him? He’ll do everything possible to help her and her son. They’re basically family. Finds out Diego is dating a woman who tried to kill them multiple times that he met in an asylum who’s actually another magic kid from 1989? Would do anything for her. Come to family meetings, he says. She’s basically family, now. Finds out Luther is dating another Hargreeves (alternate) who also tried to kill them all at first meeting? Klaus is officiating their wedding! And finally, Five is still mourning his coping mechanism mannequin-wife? That’s rough, pal. All the love.

I love Klaus.

Things that are truth (in my heart) Umbrella Academy Headcanons:

Viktor and Five are twins (from Russian mother)

Five and Lila are murder besties, when Lila marries Diego Five will be her best man

Five is the father of six stupid stupid kids. And needs a retirement plan.

The family would stop an Apocalypse if they just actually worked as a real team.

They all love each other, despite sometimes being toxic, but they don’t know how to cope with the reality of their abusive upbringing and the lives they've created outside of it.

Reginald is a bastard, that never cared about his kids. OR he's been down this apocalypse road so many times he's forgotten how to care about anything other than the end goal.

Klaus can’t die. Even when his body is gone. Original Klaus died in the Apocalypse and didn't know there was anyone to live for. There was, and Five spent the next four decades alone.

Five’s villain speech, aimed at the wrong person, but not exactly wrong. Though, realistically speaking, Five wont kill a family member and every single one of their deaths since the first hasn’t hit him yet. They're still dead in his eyes, until the Apocalypse is over.

Five isn’t addicted to the apocalypse, he’s just the messenger of it, and now his family associates it with him. This infuriates him and breaks what little of his heart he believes he still has.

Five as founder to the commission. Timeline one off? A trick? A prison? We'll never know what gets Five to survive and become the Commission's supposed founder. But it's all fishy to me. OR plot twist. Five as the machine to the commission but actual founder was Reginald, who convinces Five the apocalypse must happen and uses his powers to manufacture his success.

Allison and Reginald both fiddle with the reality machine (???). Reginald gets world domination and his wife back, Allison gets her child and her husband. She keeps her powers because they were either not sucked out from her or she chooses to make a world where her and her siblings have no powers (?). She keeps Sparrow Ben because despite not interacting with him, he's still a Ben. But she misses her Ben, and so two Bens live in the new universe.

Five, not having his powers, walking alone in the city streets, gets caught for truancy. Much to his embarrassment.

I heard a rumour that you have a theory on Klaus and Five being twins. Wouldst thou care to elaborate?

oh my god I totally do and I would love to elaborate.

So, I know that in the comics, Five and Luther are the twins, and that could still be the case in show canon, but show canon has obviously been different to comics canon in a LOT of ways (Diego being the closest to Grace, drugs nerfing Klaus’ powers, Harold Jenkins, etc.), so I just really think that if any of them are twins in show canon, it’s gonna be Klaus and Five, and boy do I have some evidence to prove it:

1. Their powers are somewhat complimentary/thematically similar. Five can jump through space and time (and bend time itself to his will in s2), and Klaus sees ghosts, so he sees people from other times and places. ALSO, @sunriseseance has an extremely compelling theory about Klaus being clairvoyant! Go to her for more info on that (and more great theories and headcanons and amazing fics), but it’s??? really cool if they’re twins and they can both see the future? – Five because he can go there, and Klaus because he just Knows It. ALSO their powers sometimes appear pretty much visually identical – glowing blue hands curled up into fists.

2. They have the most consistent and severe addiction issues. With Klaus, this is very known and discussed frequently, but Five also has a penchant for alcoholism, and he definitely seems to cope by fixating on things, be it the desire to time travel or stopping the apocalypse. My point with this is, they seem to have addictive personalities, and addiction can be genetic.

3. They have similar mannerisms. Neither of them can sit still for long, they both slouch/have weird bad posture, they’re both left-handed (which can also be genetic). They’re both deeply emotional but pretend they aren’t. They’re both extremely witty. They’re both uh? chaotic? in different ways, for different reasons. They both hate authority and write on the walls of their room. They’re both wildly clever and seem to work pretty well together based on s1′s Meritech scene.

4. They look the most similar out of all the Hargreeves siblings! Similar enough for them to pass as father and son in s1, no questions asked. Similar enough for my dad to mistake young Klaus for Five in Ben’s funeral flashback scene of s2. They both have dark hair and light eyes, they kinda have the same nose and face shape.

5. They’re numbers 4 and 5. It just kinda makes sense for consecutive numbers to be the twins I think.

6. They’re very lonely people and I think having an actual twin sibling would be nice for them personally. All the Hargreeves are lonely as isolation is one of TUA’s main motifs, but Klaus and Five are by far the most aware that no one else could possibly relate to their life experiences. So from an emotional standpoint, I just think it would be really effective and sweet for them to have this bonus familial connection.
