Don't know if anyone else has pointed this out, but in the description of Vega’s latest video there’s this quote: "lips that would kiss form prayers to broken stone" and it’s from T.S. Elliot's 'The Hollow Men' poem, which I’ve realised has been referenced MANY TIMES in Vega's videos (and videos concerning him) which is very exciting for my pattern-loving-theory-scrambling brain!

Off the top of my head alone, I believe that in Caelum's reverse comfort audio (the very first mention of Vega) the desc says: "not with a bang but a whimper"

And in Vega's first video (with Freelancer) the desc reads: "between the emotion and the response falls the shadow"

In his first video with him in department custody, the desc is: "between the essence and the descent falls the shadow"

And in the next: "between the motion and the act falls the shadow".

All of these are lines from the same poem and the poem itself is full of references to death and fading stars and eyes and kingdoms and the world ending and all fun theory things that suddenly all seem VERY important and familiar!!!!

here’s the thing, and I’m about to go on a very opinionated rant about this so bear in mind that this is just how I feel, and you’re completely valid if you disagree. But I’m going to talk about the HBS continuation poll.

I don’t really think that any of the flashbacks should get a continuation. There, I said it. I think that it would be much more impactful for Anton and Avior and Elliot to get BAs when they are all safe, happy, and reunited with their partners. Getting anything before that is just going to be bittersweet - at best.

You know that if Anton gets the BA, it’s going to be so heartbreaking. Knowing that it’s the last night he gets to spend with his partner before having to leave immediately in the morning, and that he won’t see them again for so long.

If Avior gets the BA, it’s going to be with a Starlight from BEFORE their memory loss. It’s not even their current relationship, it’s the one before ALL of the character development - from both sides of the relationship. That, and the fact that it’s them trying to make the best out of a frankly horrible situation. They’re in a hellscape, trapped and afraid, and the best they can do is pretend that they’re anywhere else.

The same kind of thing goes for Elliot if he gets the BA, knowing that he was so happy back then, and knowing how much pain he’s going through now. In the present, Sunshine is the one that was captured, and he can’t just adventure forth and save them. There isn’t some dragon he can slay and then run in and kiss them and bring them back home. They’re actually being held hostage, and it’s real and it’s terrifying.

Those three absolutely should get BAs at some point, I’m not saying that they shouldn’t, but they should be in the present. We can wait a little while longer for a satisfactory conclusion, can’t we? Or are we that desperate that we’ll take anything, if just to have more content? Come on, guys.
