The majority of people are horny. People are always going to be horny. You cannot stop people from being horny. Throughout history there have been extensive attempts to suppress horniness and they haven’t worked. You can be mad about it all you want but horniness will prevail against any adversity. There will always be an aspect of horniness within society. Sexuality cannot be contained by having missionary sex with your spouse alone in the privacy of a dark bedroom.

When your partner has a praise kink but you're Montessori trained so you know that praise is an ineffective way to encourage development and it's much more productive to acknowledge their effort so that they learn to effectively give themselves feedback so they can develop a healthy intrinsic motivation instead of deriving their self worth from labels put on them by other people .... "baby it's amazing how much you could last today compared to last week"

I am torn between a sense of solidarity and devastation that that feeling of existing parallel to places you either used to belong or should belong, is so relatable. People and friends who may want to help but don't know how to, instead disappear back into the familiarity and normativity that is visible to you, but also out of your reach. And you breathe through knowing that they don't know how to help, but more pointedly are too fearful of what that could entail, that might upset their own familiar and norm, to try. Intentions are good, but hope that would inspire innovative action can be all but silent unless you already *know*.
This is not only true in the Church, but in all social circles I have ever experienced, being inside, alongside, or outside.
This is why critical thinking and the kind of liberation theology I have been swallowed into is so incredibly important because when we are so enveloped by Normativity, we are blind not to those who aren't but blind to solutions that could invite them in where we are, we cannot see their obstacles that we've made or perpetuated. We MUST look to the marginalized and we must HEAR them when they spell out what is in the way of connection. They're the only ones who can notice it because of the chasm between our vantage points.
This is why Paulo Freire wrote Pedagogy of the Oppressed that demands universal participation in dialogue, but that the salvation from being or becoming oppressors can only lie in the oppressed.

Happy Trans Jesus Day to those who celebrate cracking all sorts of eggs!
Pleasant reminder that the concept of a trans-Jesus is hundreds and hundreds of years old, besides being someone who TRANScends all expectations in a liberative way, besides all the gender fuckery Jesus partook and encouraged by washing the feet of others or looking for the safe house where a man is carrying water, the Stigmata are historically treated as Jesus' divine vagina! Not one he was born with, but one that was given in the transformation of our salvation and proof of resurrection in Jesus' rebirth.
Happy Easter, everyone. 🐇🐣

“It may be tempting to make the flesh vanish. But rejection of carnality is the other side of the system that projects it onto others. Bodies are always susceptible to the exercise of power. However, the susceptibility to being shaped by the world is also the basis of all life and all knowledge. Flesh is a constitutive relation to the world – a condition for corporeal survival and flourishing as well as the source of its vulnerability. Rather that abandon flesh to live in the body, we need to reevaluate the rejected traits of carnality – its links to the material elements, its frailty and changeability. And I find in the carnal strand of Christian imaginaries resources for this project. They offer a crucial insight: unless I can embrace my own flesh, and its beginnings in the flesh of another, I cannot love other fleshly beings – nor can I understand the incarnation. What is at stake for them is nothing less than the possibility of love. In Christian texts, God is the initiator and model for such an embrace of flesh. Infusing earth with love, God creates. Becoming flesh, in birth and suffering, God re-creates. Christians are called to remember these stories, to see themselves in the transformations that they depict, to imitate God and be born again ... (T)he incarnation brings to mind and may help us reevaluate carnal/earthy bonds as grounds for a commitment to a shared life. It may remind us that the most significant events, the most loving, the most life giving, require consenting to being flesh.”
Mayra Rivera, Poetics of the Flesh
