The Clash - “Police And Thieves” - Live in Munich, 1977 "Police and Thieves" is a reggae song about gang war and police brutality, first recorded by the Jamican singer Junior Murvin in 1976. It was covered by the Clash and included on their debut album released in 1977. Murvin's first comment was "They have destroyed Jah work!".  Bob Marley was inspired to write his song “Punky Reggae Party” after hearing the Clash's version - his reaction was "It is different, but me like how him feel it."

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - “American Girl” - (Live Aid 1985) Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers play in front of 100,000 people at Live Aid at John F. Kennedy Stadium, Philadelphia USA on July 13, 1985. The event was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the famine disaster in Ethiopia.  Tom shows frustration (gives the soundman the middle finger) at 1:11 and raises his arms in frustration at 2:12 due to most of the microphones for the backing vocals being dead, but still delivers a great performance.
