"Animals do not ‘give’ their life to us, as the sugar-coated lie would have it. No, we take their lives. They struggle and fight to the last breath, just as we would do if we were in their place."
There is absolutely nothing more awkward than someone asking me why Im vegan and then when I awkwardly say "because I like animals" because I don't wanna get into it and they just respond with "well I like animals too"
who exactly benefits from the talking point that animals don't feel pain/fear and have no internal worlds of their own...that they're automatons with no thoughts, feelings, preferences...who benefits from being told that any effort to sympathize with animals is to commit the unforgivable sin of "anthropomorphizing" them...who benefits from the idea that animals are neutral to their own abuse and death and that it serves a greater purpose (the desires of humans)...the answer may surprise you!
killing animals in factory farms is not a symbiotic relationship. you don’t understand ecology at all. factory farms are not at all part of the equation of ‘symbiosis’ and relationships with nature, ecosystems or food webs. slaughter houses are not ‘gentle deaths’. factory farms and the industrial food system are the producers of harm and waste and destruction to all life and the land. nothing about this is ‘mutualistic’, ‘gentle’, ‘sustainable’, or ‘natural’. you’re living in a dream land if you believe this.
Right now Israel's bombing Rafah, the last refuge for a million Palestinians, where they were previously ORDERED to evacuate to and are now trapped in while the US news cycle is dominated by Big Football Game And Celebrities In Attendance (at which Israel also aired a million dollar propaganda video). I wish I could say this is unbelievable.
If you run a currently active vegan blog...any chance you could interact with this in some way? My current method of finding you all seems slow and not always fruitful :(
We have to remember that with every day that passes without a ceasefire, more people are being murdered in Palestine. I know it's tempting to shut down! Or brains aren't designed to process this much suffering and pain for long periods of time. But we have to make a conscious, intentional effort to keep paying attention, keep sharing news from voices on the ground, and keep calling for Palestinian justice and freedom. Please don't fall into apathy!
If you're being a doofus on my post purposefully ignoring the actual subject I will simply delete it idc. I'm all for welcomed debate but don't waste your time just saying the same thing I was being annoyed about in the post 😂
