Kaito is probably more lenient with wanting to reveal identities, his whole trusting philosophy leaking into the argument of: "it would help us as a team! We'd be stronger if we knew each other behind the masks!" While Kokichi would be on the strict with identities side. "No one can know both of our identities- ever."

It's easier for Kokichi to wear the mask cause he already wears masks every day all the time. But I think Kaito would have a harder time not being able to... take credit? Not in a selfish way, I mean more in a reassuring friends and showing he's got the right to tell everyone it'll all be okay, ya know? (...but also he's a damn superhero and that's the coolest thing ever I wish I could tell my sidekicksssss)

kokichi is constantly reminding him about secret identities, bc kaito just wants to tell him everything !!

the fact that the secret isnt out at this point is a miracle !!

I'd imagine Kokichi has to FORCE himself not to figure out the ladybug hero's identity. It's his best friend and partner but identities are so so important and he'd be paranoid about them of course. But he's so smart that he has to go out of his way NOT to figure it out! Don't think about it. Don't think about it!

well not really , but miraculous' magic system is so bonkers . the magic keeps people from making connections based off of looks or voices (to my understanding ? its honestly unclear but that's how I'm interpreting it )

how , in my head , it works rn is like there's a mental block there !! they can get little feelings based off of similarities, but unless they are actively trying to figure out the other's identity or its literally revealed to them they wont be able to actually make the connection ( if that makes sense )

its messy tbh ? dont have an exact idea on how it should work yet , but i simply refuse to make these two THAT observant teehee

I was thinking and couldn’t figure out who is more suitable for the role of Cat Blanc. On the one hand, this is obvious to Kokichi since he has the miraculous of a cat and this is more like him, so to speak. But on the other hand, the main point of the Cat Blanc episode was to give Marinette a justification for her paranoia about their secret identities. Causing her to push Cat away. Now that sounds like Kokichi. Anyway, just food for thought, Have a nice day!

first of all thanks for the ask !! i love yapping !!

second !! one of my biggest gripes about miraculous is that ive always felt that chat noir is treated like a glorified sidekick . they make a big fuss about the " balance of the universe " being repressed by the black cat and the ladybug and yet its so clear that in the show's eyes the ladybug is way more important !!

some of this is just that marinette is just more of a leader/planner than adrien , butttt in the case of kaito and kokichi , theyre both planners and leaders in their own right ( i mean. obviously ) so !! i think that is an interesting dynamic to play with !!

in all honesty , i really see kokichi being more concerned over secret identities !! i mean , kaito is big on trust and kokichi is simply not .

all that being said , if one of them were to be akumatized , it would probably be kaito . he's simply more likely to be overcome by emotion , as kokichi is pretty good at burying that shit down . ( tho i think kaito is too , but that's a discussion for another day . )

i would be so down to hear any thoughts about this AU ever tho , so !! PLEASE send me asks about them , i need to yap !! ( thank you thank you )
