Kicking off my Poland series with an image from Krakow! This was shot on a rainy night in front of the 14th century St. Mary’s Basilica in the Main Square of Krakow or Rynek Glowny, a must visit during a trip to this city.
The discovery of this nest located in a heavily wooded area could not have allowed the necessary distance decreed by the current context of the pandemic. So we had to restrict ourselves with great sadness to share it. For my part, I will have shared it only with my usual cronies Petit-duc, Robert and Michel, in order to follow up. Thank you to both and above all a huge thank you to Lucie C. who will have shared her wonderful observation with me in all confidence.
This “Squid with a shell" the Palau Nautilus caught on film by
@enricsala
and
@manusanfelix
. This cephalopod (a cousin of octopus and squid) lives mainly in Palau and the Western Carolines on reef slopes typically between 150-300 meters deep, but can sometimes be seen at shallower depths like this when they make excursions at night when fish activity diminishes.
