sorry i haven’t gotten to the starters!!! the truth is school has been really busy, so i haven’t had much of a chance ot icon Gash yet!!! i hate feeling like i’m always using the same five icons over and over, so i’v ejust been holding off until i can icon movies 1 and 2 before really getting into things!

Maybe it was awkward, yes. The King approached the Ice Demon, checking to make sure his wounds weren’t too seriously. He knew this might not have been too comfortable for him; being tended to by the one who defeated him and took the opportunity to become King, but he was still Gash’s subject and damned he would be if he let something like this just pass.

And on some of Gash’s other really powerful spells!
I guess this isn’t too relevant to anything, but now I’ve been thinking about it; despite it’s look, this isn’t a Baou spell! At the end of the day Jiou Renzu Zakeruga is just that; the strongest normal version of Zakeru that Gash can use that isn’t a Baou spell, and as such is just a purely destructive spell that does not devour evil nor have the threat of going berserk. Notably it is extremely fast and nimble, able to dodge attacks as it makes it’s way to it’s target.
It, along with Ekuseresu Zakeruga are among Gash’s most powerful non-Baou spells. It takes up a decent amount of power to use however, but covers a fairly large range as well.
Teozakeru is the second-strongest form of Zakeru seen, covering a large range as well and primarily taking over as Gash’s main attack in the manga once gained. It could be argue this is the strongest “normal” form of Zakeru, as Jiou Renzu Zakeruga is arguably a different kind of spell despite using “Zakeruga” in it’s name.
However, Gash still primarily prefers using Zakeruga as his main attack spell against many enemies, as it still delivers a powerful punch for relatively little energy; he basically uses Zakeruga primarily post-battle to gauge an enemy’s capabilities, and then usually switches to Teozakeru as his main attack, unless he knows from the get-go that he shouldn’t hold back.

TPN AU where Gash and his friends are escaped cattle children from Goodwill Ridge (the one we barely know anything about) that later encounter Emma and the gang (also god I need catch up with the manga so badly I haven’t read anything since like October sobs,,,)
OK KONOSUBA CONSIDER... Gash ofc still has his stats and class and everything, bc this is the fantasy world... but it doesn’t matter bc Gash still h as access to his own magic and has forgone any chance at learning any new magic in favor of his old magic. He probably completes missions by accident? Like a monster attacks him so there’s a big ol’ Zakeruga right to it’s face and it knocks out and he gets money but he’s literally content with sleeping in a tree house and fishing his food so he just. Throws his money away. Aqua cries because she didn’t get it.

On Baou Zakeruga (Part 4: other Baou spells)
It is unfortunate that Gash really only gets to use one other Baou spell in canon properly asf;kasjfa;slkdfj
During the battles in Faudo Gash uses a spell called Baou Kurou Disugurugu, his second known Baou spell, and the second spell he used that did not cause him to lose consciousness, which he could control with the movements of his right hand.
As he became King, Gash has taken further experimenting with Baou’s power. However, he does not experiment on increasing it’s offensives; he is more than fine with that. What Gash wants to experiment in is Baou’s power to purify and devour evil. Gash doesn’t want more destruction, he’s a Demon who values healing. And after realizing that Shin Beruwan devouring Clear Note and allowing him to be reincarnated as an innocent, happy child, Gash has become convinced that Baou need not only be some tool of destruction; it can be used to heal as well.
One such spell is a spell that Gash calls Baou Supusai Disugurugujio, his first successful attempt at creating his own unique Baou spell and an ofshoot of Baou Kurou Disugurugu. Whereas Kurou Disugurugu is a purely offensive spell, Supusai Disugurugujio was created with the intention of healing and purification. Much like the previous spell it creates a Baou hand created that will not do any physical harm to whatever it hits.
Rather, that which is touched by Supusai Disuguruguijo will attempted to be healed of it’s anger, hatred, of curses. Baou does what it does best; devouring evil and malicious intent, but with the intent of healing and leaving behind no wounds. If someone is filled with hatred or anger and resentment they cannot let go, Supusai Disuruguijo will attempt to devour it and remove it from them so they can try to move on and live peacefully, no longer shackled by such things. Furthermore, it is also effective against curses and other forms of lingering, evil magic, able to purify places as opposed to just people.
It’s a rather unique spell, created by Gash’s research into the spell nomenclature of Demons, in particular by wanting to combine the supu- prefix associated with Clear Note’s annihilation magic (leaving nothing behind), the -sai- suffix associated with both healing and offensive spells (as many of Tio’s spells contain), and the -jio- suffix which is also associated with healing combined with the power of Baou to devour evil. As lightning magic is shown to be primarily hyper-offensive in nature it is a testament to Gash’s desire to be a kind King and help others above all else; turning even the terrifying power of Baou into something more gentle and pure.

On Baou Zakeruga (Part 3: Shin Beruwan Baou Zakeruga)
Shin Beruwan Baou Zakeruga is the strongest known form of Baou, and unlike Baou itself (which was just a spell that grew stronger before returning to it’s original glory) is a spell of it’s own. It is a spell born through the Golden Spellbook, with every other fallen Demon lending their strength to Gash to defeat Clear Note and save both Earth and Makai. It’s basically a power of friendship spell, made possible by many working together that completely and utterly obliterated Clear Note’s most powerful form with virtually no effort, at the end of a long and difficult battle. While classified as a Shin-class spell, it is clearly in a league of it’s own above all else, easily the strongest magic ever utilized in this series. It is by far something extremely unique, as opposed to just an upgrade to Baou.
I headcanon that Gash can still use Shin Beruwan, but it’s not a good idea.
Shin Beruwan can best be described as the ultimate weapon of Gash as a King; he will forever hold control over it, but he cannot replicate the sheer power of Shin Beruwan like this so easily. Under normal conditions, using Shin Beruwan is nowhere near as strong as the version that destroyed Clear Note; but it is still much more powerful than even Baou. However, it exerts almost all of Gash’s energy. Even when he reaches adulthood and the prime of his strength Gash will be exhausted after Shin Beruwan and will likely be unable to battle, as opposed to his power to use Baou freely and multiple times in one fight, and as such it is reserved as his last resort.
He can replicate (or-near replicate) the power used to destroy Clear Note if he is put into a situation where he must sacrifice everything to protect that which he loves...
... And it will likely cost him everything.

On Baou Zakeruga (Part 2: It’s upgrades)
Uniquely, Baou Zakeruga appears to evolve as the series progresses. Although it is more accurate to say that Baou Zakeruga was regaining it’s original form, it is the only spell shown in the series that seems to change its classification of spell as the story progresses.
In its initial form, as it first awakens as Gash’s fourth spell, Baou Zakeruga appears to be equivalent in power to a Gigano-level spell, the third most powerful class of offensive spell. Fittingly enough, most Demons in the battle seem to gain their Gigano-level attacks around their fourth spell, and usually serves as their initial trump card, having extremely high attack power but requiring much more heart energy to use.
When boosted by three or more Zaguruzemu spells, Baou grows in power and rank again, becoming equivalent to a Dioga-level spell, the second most powerful form of attack spell, although this power upgrade requires several Zaguruzemus to reach its full potential.
Upon awakening the true Baou, it becomes equivalent to that of a Shin-level spell, the most powerful known kind of spell in Konjiki no Gash!! when Demons reach the peak of their power, with virtually all Shin-class spells we’ve seen primarily used by Demons who managed to progress to the King’s Festival (the final 10 Demons remaining), or within the Golden Spellbook which allowed Gash and Kiyomaro to use many fallen Demon’s Shin-level spells to help combat Clear Note. This is also Baou at it’s most destructive, threatening to go berserk and kill friend and foe alike if not under control. Thankfully, Gash managed to regain control of this fearsome magic.
And it’s last form? Well, that deserves it’s own post!
