Winter holidays and loneliness
Tumblr media
Have you spent almost every year after your adulthood all alone? As for me, I spend so every year after my 16th birthday.I can’t say that this is bad, some people were even less fortunate in life, they were left without a family, abandoned by their loved one on Christmas Eve, forgotten by the children whom they raised and gave themselves up and I can bring up such examples for a long time, but I won’t .What is Christmas for me and what is the phenomenon of winter holidays - that’s what I would like to talk  with you. When I was still a boy, I was looking forward to winter, because along with the first snow and frost, it was time of magic for me.Me, father, mother and my little sister, we all gathered on the sofa near the fireplace, we had cocoa with marshmallows in our hands, in the corner there was a well-decorated Christmas tree that delighted the eye of any of our acquaintances who came in to talk about something about themselves and wish you a Merry Christmas! Garlands were burning all over the house and Christmas music was playing. What I still remember from childhood well  is the sweet and sour smell of cinnamon candles and apple pie.I'm 19 now.I will not go into special details from my personal life, I will say briefly, at the moment I am left alone. This Christmas I will spend in an empty house. But memories of the past will always be fresh...So, what pleases me in the winter holidays, how I spend them and what I advise to do for lonely people in this period of time.
1.The very first thing you can do is decorate your home. Yes, it sounds corny, but this little detail already inspires me with the spirit of Christmas.
2.Winter music (you don’t have to listen to Christmas songs, you can just listen music that associate it with winter, for example, I have Ariana Grande & John Legend - "Beauty and the Beast" from my favorite cartoon, which I review every year at this time with by the same title ).
3.Christmas pajamas or sweater. (to this you can add deer ears or Santa's hat for quite inveterate lovers).
4.As a fan of scented candles, I just can't help but include them in this paragraph. (to create the best atmosphere, the smells of spruce, citrus, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, apple and cinnamon are suitable).
5.Films and cartoons worth watching earlier this year:
1) “Klaus” 2019 - Santa's story
2) “Togo” 2019 - A man and a dog in the heart of a blizzard
3) “ Maleficent 2: MISTRESS OF EVIL “ - continuation of the long-loved story of the dark fairy
6.  5 Books that immerse you in the atmosphere of a winter fairy tale:
1) Tove Jansson "The Moomin Winter" - how the kindest creatures in the world spend their winter 2) J.K. Rowling "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" - no comment 3) Neil Gaiman "Odd and the Ice Giants"  4) Fanny Flagg "Christmas and the Red Cardinal" 5) Jessica Day "Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow"
7. The last item - sweets, lots of sweets, lots of sweets and tangerines.
I hope that I could at least lighten your mood a bit and remember, being alone is not so bad, happiness is in the details. Happy holidays! ♥
