You know in those nuclear apocalypse movies, where people are just waiting for the bombs to start falling, with the occasional cut to missiles speeding through the air... that's kinda what last night was here in Israel. Nothing much we could do but wait and see.

someone I follow on the bird app just announced they're starting a very exclusive private fic server because they and a bunch of other people want to talk about how much they love the fics they're reading, and as an author can I just say that a really great place to talk about a fic you love is in the comments for that fic

I understand that people are trying to create safe spaces, but as the number of comments that I get on my fics dwindles with each passing year, knowing these spaces exist where my fics are being discussed, places that I am excluded from, makes me want to write fic LESS

I mean I guess who cares, right, because if I stop writing, there's 10,000 other people that will continue...but if you participate in a fic "book club" server and you say nice things there about a fic you loved, maybe copy and paste that into a comment on AO3?

the only thing fanfic writers are asking for in return for hours of hard work is attention. please don't rob us of the one thing that we hope for when we hit "post"

Honestly, with all the tradwife cooking trash circulating, it only makes me love B Dylan Hollis more for baking vintage recipes while being openly gay, making sexual jokes, and screaming at the ingredients. He's the antithesis of every soft-spoken cishet woman cooking for her husband and children. You don't have to be an idyllic cottagecore housewife to cook.

at this point when I read free palestine or see a watermelon emoji in someone's bio I go "are you free palestine as in innocent gazan civilians don't deserve to be massacred and peace is the solution to the conflict or are you free palestine as in hamas are freedom fighters and the solution is getting rid of the isnotrealis". I wish I had the power to instantly know which one it is so I know whether I'm looking at a person who wants me dead or not.

Gonna wax lyrical here for a minute. I came to watch Supernatural pretty late in the series - really late in the series, it was basically a Covid lockdown binge. And I came to the SPN fandom soon after that. SPN is the only fanfiction I write, and one of two fandoms I read (the other is just a couple authors from a particular fandom). I have come to admire several writers and artists, whose work can just take my breath away, make me laugh, or leave me sobbing. Whose work gives me pause and opens my eyes. Whose work can transport me. Lions is one such creator. Their versions of Dean and Cas are certainly not the mainstream vision, but it is no less beautiful, sexy, and real. It makes some of us feel seen. It makes some of us feel less "other" or "outsider". They have the enviable gift of being both a talented writer and an equally talented artist, and when I get notification that something new has been posted... let's just say, I'm happy I work from home. When someone posted the original cowboy photo to the PB server and wished for a Dean version, I knew there was only one person who could do it justice, and boy howdy, @stonelions , did you deliver. Thicc, chonky, and sexy AF. I say this wholeheartedly, with no sarcasm whatsoever, I thank the fickle Internet gods and goddesses for whatever algorithm dropped a post of yours into one of my social media home pages.
