Not sure how many people still follow this account, but would anyone here be interested in commissions? They'd be $60 USD for a full body, fully coloured shot - I'm open to drawing all kinds of things!

Hi Averey, I am sure you get this every now and then, but I was a huge fan of Tales from Runescape growing up. Etoile and Albert were my favorite characters, and to this day I think of Bob every time I see cheese. If you don't mind me asking, what advice would you have for a beginner artist? I would like to start making webcomics, no matter how simple, but is there any software you would recommend or some online resources to improve my drawing?
Thank you in advance! I cannot stress enough how much of a fan I was of Tales from Runescape.
Man, how are people even FINDING me on here, haha.
First of all - thank you! So weird hearing people referring to my old characters by name in this day and age.
I wish I had decent advice to give to you but honestly, back when I was making TFR I was a very young teenager using the most basic tools at my disposal, MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker. Even now I use the bare minimum when it comes to personal art, so I feel like I can't realistically dish out any worthy artistic advice.
The only thing I can say to you is if you want to create a webcomic just go for it. Try not to get too hung up on making it perfect from the get-go, you'll naturally pick up skills with time and effort as you go along. Use references for drawings (I usually just look up stock photos and copyright-free images for pose references) but don't fuss too much if your art doesn't look the way you want it to if you're just starting out. Just write whatever story it is that you want to tell and try not to get hung up on writing it for anyone else, or comparing it to anything else that's already out there (there's certainly WAY more competition online these days compared to the wee days of the internet in 2006).
Good luck to you!

Hey. I know it's kind of a long shot but I was a big fan of your old youtube channel. I loved Tales from Runescape and I even remember the animation you made for the runner-up golden gnome (which you should have won). I really wanted to re-watch Tales from Runescape but couldn't find it complete on your channel. I know it was a long time ago and you've moved on. I remember TfR fondly and still cracked up laughing at the jokes on the few episodes I was able to track down. I know I'm not alone on this nostalgic show. I was a big fan then and a big fan now. Please upload TfR somewhere for the world to see.
Man, I'm always so surprised when people manage to find me on here under my real name and everything.
Anyway, thank you so much! I'm also impressed that people even remember the series at all, haha. I am planning to relist all of the episodes eventually! (I'm basically limited by my willingness to look them in the eyes anymore, some of them really don't hold up these days lol).
