M.A.C Russian Red
Today I decided to go for the Russian Red and put it to the wear test.
I've had this one for over three years, I love it but I rarely use it.
8.00am
Applied 2 or 3 layers. Not very neatly either.
With flash:
No flash (nice snakebites):
3pm
Talking all day, drinking from my water bottle and eating. Still going strong. Around this time my lips started feeling a little dry. I would have usually topped up or applied some petroleum jelly, but I stuck it out for the cause.
6.30pm
To be fair, a lot of the centre came off onto my fingers just before taking this photo due to the particular meal I was eating. The colour is faded but still visible. My lips felt quite stiff and started drying out around the edges. If I had of left it too much longer I’m sure I would have ended up with cracked lips.
Besides the drying effect, which is completely normal for me any way, there is no doubt this had a great colour and wear time pay off. I'd say I got a good 7 hours out of my morning application before it started going downhill.
Now that M.A.C pay for animal testing, I won't buy any more of their products, but I will finish what I already own. Maybe by then they’ll have changed their ways.
