mikasa and eren are both contrasting characters,
eren deals with a lot of insecurities, mikasa carries a lot of pride.
eren is constantly thinking about the future (quite literally living in it considering titan memories due to the founding and attack), while mikasa constantly thinks about the past.
eren is angry and impulsive, mikasa is calm and collected with a clear idea of what she wants to do.
eren allowed people to enter his heart including reiner and annie which explains his sadness finding out about their betrayal, while mikasa only concerns herself with the people that she loves and has no room in her heart to care about more after her trauma.
even in the way they love each other, all mikasa wants is to be by eren's side even if it means risking her life, while all eren wants is for her to be safe even if it means their separation.
and interestingly enough, their character development is basically becoming who the other used to be, in s4 mikasa starts to be more like eren from s1, and s4 eren is more like mikasa in s1

What first drew me to Levi - I don’t really remember. there wasn’t anything specific. It was the whole package, and by the end of my first watch I was head over heels. This quote sums it up perfectly:

What first drew me to Levi was his strength, to be honest. He’s just so cool! Someone with that much strength and ability could (and often do) have an enormous ego, but he doesn’t. He cares for his comrades in the Survey Corps. And I love morally grey characters with sad back stories, haha.
My favorite thing about him to this day are his quirks. He could have easily been written as the idyllic, heroic character, but he wasn’t. He’s obsessed with cleaning and holds his tea cup in a strange manner. He has a potty mouth. His ‘imperfections’ make him perfect to me. 😌
My favorite look? Oof, there’s so many….the grey shirt in season 3 is so hot, but I really like him in the formal uniform too.

when doctors ask if i have any history of cancer in my family and i have to say that yes my grandmother had 2 types of gastrointestinal cancer and they're like oh wow okay so we'll keep an eye out for that but i'm like no it was probably just all the nuclear radiation and they're like ok hm ok what the fuck do you mean and it's very weird seeing the look on american doctors' faces when you have to explain to them that believe it or not atomic bombs were dropped on this earth 2 generations ago and it did have consequences

I’ve been looking up translations of Umm Kulthum’s songs and everything I’ve come across so far is too literal and superficial with no effort to preserve the style and beauty of the original text. It’s almost impossible for some of it not to get lost in translation of course but still I think there are ways to creatively mirror it. It might be fun to give it a try myself.
