reader is zuko’s childhood best friend and one night she went to market to buy some dinner however on her way back home she’ is being followed by a strange guy.
when she notices a figure following her, she doesn’t know what to do at first but somehow finds herself running towards zuko who is training nearby.
A/n-Ofc🫶🏼 i love this idea!! I wasn’t sure if you wanted them dating/confession so i kinda just went with it. Its not very long and kind of sloppy-so lets just ignore the plot holes lol.

Never go alone again
You were so exited. Zuko had finally killed the avatar and returned back home. You would finally have a chance to tell your best freind how you felt.
You decided you would do it over dinner. You were searching through the pantry to make sure you had everything, when you realized you were out of flaming sour dough.
You quickly grab your shoes and walk to the store. You were kind of nervous about tonight. Did he feel the same way? Was this all a mistake? You decide not to overthink it and quickly buy your supplies for the bread.
As you were shoping you noticed a man following you around the store. Always from a distance. Maybe he just needed the exact same things you did.
As you were walking home you kept looking behind you. A ways away you could see the man behind you-following you. He was quickly gaining on you.
You looked around, you were near the training grounds, quite aways away from your house and even if you beat the guy there what would you do?
You look behind you one last time and see the guy running for you. Thats it, you thought, Zuko better be there like he always is. But it would be just your luck if the one time you actually needed him training he was gone.
You run in quickly spotting the black haired boy. “Zuko!” You scream
He looks up startled, and catches you when you practically run into him. “A man, chasing me, so far, your here.” You say gasping for breath.
As soon as he realizes whats happening he starts looking you over for injuries. “Are you ok? whats wrong? Are you sure your not hurt? Where is he?”
He’s bombarding you with questions and you’re just trying to catch your breath, running was never easy.
You end up just pointing behind you, just as the man comes running in. Zuko snaps his head up and quickly takes care of him as you calm down.
Zuko is still sending comets of fire as the guards come running out. “Take care of him.” He yells to the guards as he comes towards you.
He pulls you into a hug, and you both stand there for a moment, just enjoying each other’s presence.
Then he pulls back, “how did he find you? Why weren’t you safe at home?”
You’re startled by his intensity. “I was getting the ingredients for dinner tonight. I just walked to the store, i never thought something like this could happen.”
Now he just looked more upset, “what were you thinking! Going alone? I would’ve gone with you! You could have gotten seriously hurt, or worse!”
“Im sorry, i was just exited for tonight” you say sadly.
He sighs, “i just, i dont know what i would do if something happened to you.” You look up at him, this was almost too good to be true. “I have liked you for a long time.” He says very slowly.
And it seems it just hit him with what he said and everything immediately follows up with, “i didn’t really mean to say that! I mean i ment it-but i didn’t want to tell you like this. And obviously you dont have to feel the same way and i-“
You cut him off by kissing him, after a few moments you pull back. “Its ok. I like you too, i was actually planning on telling you at dinner.” You laugh
You look up at him and see the biggest smile on his face. “This is perfect” he says, “and now i can go with you to the store. You’ll never have to go alone again.”
You two walk to your house to have dinner, the happiest you’ve ever been.

Dont mind me….just tear bending over here
Sometimes I think about exactly how powerful Zuko’s story as an abuse victim is and I just have to stop and tear up for a minute.
Just let it sink in that at 13 years old, Zuko’s father mutilated him in front of an audience and told him he was worthless and unwelcome until he completed an impossible mission. Nobody stepped in to help him. Most onlookers thought he deserved it, and even Iroh was too afraid of Ozai to challenge him in Zuko’s defense.
Zuko went on for years believing Ozai was right, and didn’t recognize what happened to him as abuse. He thought his banishment and suffering were his own fault because something was wrong with him, and that it was his duty to change to become worthy again.
Then this scene? Absolutely incredible.
Zuko’s whole journey leads up to this confrontation, where he not only recognizes that he holds no responsibility for the abuse inflicted on him; he confronts his abuser and tells him he was wrong to treat him that way, that he doesn’t owe his abuser anything.
And not only that, Zuko also tells Ozai that he sees how he’s hurting the rest of the world the same way he hurt him, and vows to stop him. That’s literally so powerful, especially watching this as someone who once felt as broken and alone as Zuko once did. His story is everything to me.

These are the same people-
I honestly love this so much, because it shows how everyone has two sides. There are many times when people underestimate Aang because, hey hes just a kid, hes just silly and goofy. But theres also so many people *cough* fire nation *cough* that think he is this all powerful and serious guy, he must know all the things to evade the fire nation for 100+ years. The crazy thing is they’re both right. He is some crazy powerful guy, but he is also a goofey kid.
I honestly just like to imagine Zuko chasing team avatar around the world thinking, “oh wow, these must be incredibly capable powerful benders.” Only to join the Gaang and be like, “wait a minute these are children?Really powerful children?? But still CHILDREN???”

Summary-constance gets the chance shes have been waiting for, a chance to do good.

Me and Sokka quickly made our way back to the main area.
Sentries were keeping watch on several different upper platforms while we joined the group at a banquet table. We started eating and i looked up as Jet stands on the table.
“Today, we struck another blow against the Fire Nation swine.” Everyone started to cheer. Katara and Aang were smiling while Sokka glared at everyone, until we made eye contact and his eyes softened.
“I got a special joy from the look on one soldier's face, when The Duke dropped down on his helmet and rode him like a wild hog monkey.”
The Duke, without his helmet, climbs up the table. He marches on the table with his arms in the air.
“Now, the Fire Nation thinks they don't have to worry about a couple of kids hiding in the trees. Maybe they're right.” He smirks as very loud and long boos are heard.
“Or maybe ... they're dead wrong.”
Everyone around started to cheer, i sighed and looked to the trees. If only they knew what Jet really did around here.
Katara looked at Jet with googling eyes and i had to stop myself from laughing “Hey, Jet, nice speech.”
Jet smiled and sits down next to Katara, across from me. “Thanks. By the way, I was really impressed with you and Aang. That was some great bending I saw out there today.”
She looked down and blushed, “Well, he's great. He's the Avatar. I could use some more training.”
Jet looked over to Aang “Avatar, huh? Very nice.”
Aang smiled, “Thanks, Jet.”
Jet started to get the look on his face, I glared at him as a warning. “So I might know a way that you and Aang can help in our struggle.”
“Unfortunately, we have to leave tonight.” Sokka starts walking away as i kicked Jet in the shin. He turned to glare at me and i shook my head no.
Jet did it anyway. “Sokka, you're kidding me! I needed you on an important mission tomorrow.”
Sokka turns around, looking unsure. “What mission?”
Jet smiled and started to explain the plan to Sokka, pulling him away from the table.
I looked over to Aang and Katara who were laughing along with Pipsqueak and The duke.
“So how long have you been traveling?” I asked trying to spark a conversation.
“A month or two now.” Katara said smiling at me.
“Really, and i hear you water bend?” I say smiling back at her.
“Yeah! Well sort of..” she says looking down. “I’m slowly teaching myself how. We are going to go to the north pole so me and Aang can learn more.” She says slowly looking back up and me.
“Thats so cool, how soon do you think you all will leave? You’ll have to go soon to make it there..”
“Dont worry too much we won’t leave so soon, we would miss seeing all of you!” She says looking over at Jet.
“Hey Constance?”
I hummed in response.
“Does Jet like hats?” She says almost to herself as she walks off.
Well there goes that plan, maybe i could convince Sokka to get them to leave. Its not like i wanted them to go, i was actually quite intrigued by them and Sokka was..interesting. Its just not safe for them to stay, not when i knew Jet was up to something.

Jet and Sokka had left early to go take care of their mission. I walked out of my cabin to see Aang and Momo are playing with the ziplines again. He leaps near Sokka. As they came back into camp.
Aang was so bubbly and happy you’d assume he was high, “Sokka! Look what The Duke gave me!” Aang pulls a small pellet from his bag. With a sly grin, he tosses it next to Momo, where it explodes with a pop. Momo puffs up, startled. He hisses and lunges for the bag. Momo sits on Aang's shoulder and tosses several pellets at his feet. Aang dances about wildly.] “Ow! Quit it!” I couldn’t contain my laughter as i snagged the pelts from Momo.
I looked at who Sokka is oblivious to it all. He's sitting with his back to the trunk of a tree and staring at the ground, glaring at me. What’d i do to him?
Katara walks up to us, “Hey, Sokka. Is Jet back?”
Sokka glared harder, if that was possible. “Yeah, he's back. But we're leaving.” I smiled at them, turns out i wouldn’t have to do much convincing.
Although Aang looked sad and i started to feel bad for the kid, they probably didnt have much time to joke around. “What?”
“But I made him this hat.” Katara mumbled as she shows a cap made out of stitched leaves with a flower on top.
Sokka looked at her. “Your boyfriend Jet's a thug.” Then he turned back to me, “are you like him? You think mugging people is fun?”
Jet did what? I cant say im surprised, just really disappointed. I knew something was up when he refused to tell me where him and Sokka were going.
Sokka kept going “He's messed up”
Aang looked around nervously, “He's not messed up, he's just got a different way of life, a really fun way of life.”
Sokka turned to him angrily, “He beat and robbed a harmless old man!”
Katara crosses her arms doubtfully. “I wanna hear Jet's side of the story.” And she runs off, Aang quickly following her.
I looked back up at him, “I’m sorry about my brother. Please tell me you didn’t let him go to far?”
His eyes softened, “There wasn’t much i could do, but i stopped him from doing to much harm to the old guy.”
“Thank you.”
We started to follow where Katara and Aang had run off too.
Sokka looked up and cleared his throat, “is he always like this?”
I looked down, “Yes. He pushes things too far. All fire nation people are bad in his mind. I try my best to keep him out of trouble….but you see how well thats working out.”
“If you didn’t have to look out for him, what would you do.”
“Its hard to think of a time where i wasn’t watching out for him, but i would want to start over. I would want the war to end, help however i could, and then go start over in a new place.”
Sokka nodes thoughtfully.
“Why don’t you leave?”
I looked up shocked, “leave? Why would i do that.”
“He is holding you back, I’ve seen you fight. You could make a difference.”
“How would i even leave, we are surrounded by fire nation, how would i even begin that conversation. ‘Hey Jet, wanted to let you know your only family left is ditching you.’ For some reason i dont think that will go over well.”
We walked in silence for a minute. I took the time to collect my thoughts.
It’s not like i hadn’t thought about leaving before, i actually thought about it quite a lot. I just don’t know that i could leave my brother, for all that we had been through..it felt selfish. We were all each other had. But Jet kept going farther down a path i couldn’t follow, i didn’t want to hurt innocent people, if they were fire nation or not. Maybe i should leave….
“You could come with us..”he whispered. I almost didn’t catch it because i was so caught up in my thoughts.
I stopped walking and looked over to him, He looked kinda nervous.
“You mean it?”
He smiled almost in relief. “Of course i do. You could come with us and help end the war, you could get the chance to start over like you wanted.”
I realized i was exited, i didn’t care what would happen, this was what i was supposed to do.
I smiled at him, “when do we leave”

Ok can we talk about how toph held up a huge ass building? I feel like this is never addressed.
The Gaang is in the sand, which is already hard for Toph to see/feel, and then she holds up this giant library?? While trying to protect Appa.
Also, can we talk about how its not one mass of rock-it's made of bricks, and being held together by gravity. She really said "Every one of you blocks, pillars, tiles, boards, and the rest of you are going to stay in your exact spots and not sink to the spirit world BECAUSE I SAID SO!" while she was fighting super mystical spirit magic. While fighting and actual spirits power. For who knows how long, because Sokka and Aang had time to check every date till Sozins comet would hit at least a few months away.
Can we also talk about how Toph was so upset and ashamed about loosing Appa due to sand bending skill that she practiced hard to perfect it.

part 2
Sumary-The gaang runs into a camp in the trees…
Pairings- Sokka x oc, jet x twin
A/n-sorry it’s late, not my best work but it’s something. Who knew getting the characters to talk to each other would be so hard.Ive been thinking about making a prequel about Constance and Jet, about when their parents died and maybe some in-between….thoughts?

I was standing in the tree, waiting to attack the fore nation camp site. I wanted to just get this over with, but we had to wait for the right moment.
And then the right moment came. Three people wandered into camp, two water tribesmen, and some kid wearing bright clothes. I looked across the clearing to Jet. Time to shine.
I jumped and took two soldiers out on landing. I turn and slashed at a third. I hear a yell and take out two more coming at you.
I looked over to Jet, who smiled at the random trio, “Down you go.”
I sigh, always the showman he is. A Fire Nation soldier yelled, “They're in the trees!”
The Duke lands on top of the soldier and turns his helmet around to blind him, before riding him around while laughing. Longshot launches arrows at the soldiers while more boys come out of the trees.
I look over to see the girl and the bright colored one fighting the soldiers. The water boy holds up his boomerang and yells as one approaches him, but gets stoped when Jet takes him down first.
“Hey, he was mine!” The water boy yelled
Jet laughed, “Gotta be quicker next time”
You turn back to the soldiers in front of you, taking down the ones right in front of the water tribe girl.
Pipsqeack falls out of the trees and easily take down two soldiers as I took down two more, causing this soldier's spear to hit another soldier, who was going to battle the water tribe boy, in the head, making that soldier also fall down.
The boy looked at me angrily, “Man!” He cried as I disarmed two more soldiers he was going for.
Jet disarmed another soldier and runs up to the water tribe girl.
Jet and smirked at her “Hey.” Oh you really hoped that wouldn’t become a thing.
She said looking completely lovestruck“Hi.”
The bright colored one looked around Amazed. “You just took out a whole army almost single-handed.”
I walked up and rested my elbow on Jets shoulder, “single handedly?” I questioned as i raised my eyebrows.
The water tribe boy spoke. “Army?! Pfft! There were only like, twenty guys.”
Jet looked over at me before introducing himself. “My name is Jet, and these are my Freedom Fighters. Sneers, Longshot, Smellerbee, The Duke, and Pipsqueak.”he said pointing to everyone as he introduced them. Then he turned to me, and ruffled my hair, did he know how long it took to braid this? “This is Constance, my little sister” he smirked around me.
“By two minutes” i mumbled while shoving his arm off.
The water tribe girl stuck her arm out, “Im Katara, this is Aang, Sokka, Appa, and Momo” she says pointing each person out.
I looked over at The Duke who was laughing with the Aang “Ha ha! Pipsqueak, that's a funny name.”
Pipsqueak lurked over them in a threatening manner; using a low, growling tone of voice. “You think my name is funny?”
Aang looks taken aback for a second before replying in an upbeat tone. “It's hilarious!”
I looked over to Pipsqueak, still looming forward with a frown on his face. He suddenly starts laughing, The colored one and The Duke following suit. Pipsqueak pats the Avatar on the back in a friendly manner, though the hit was hard enough to knock him flat on the ground. The Duke stops laughing and looks down at Aang sprawled on the ground before his feet, face flat in the dirt, though when he raises his head and continues laughing, so does The Duke.
I look over at Jet to see Katara approaching him. “Umm, thanks for saving us, Jet. We're lucky you were there.”
Jet laughed, “I should be thanking you. We were waiting to ambush those soldiers all morning. We just needed the right distraction, and then you guys stumbled in.”
Katara Eyed Sokka. “We were relying on instincts.”
Jet looked at me. “You'll get yourself killed doing that.” This was a common debate between us. Jet plans, while i go with my gut.
“Im still alive aren’t i?” I said as i glared at him.
Sokka looks at Katara and Jet disdainfully as The Duke and Pipsqueak look through the barrels. The Duke touches a jelly-like substance on his finger and sniffs it.
The Duke- “Hey, Jet, these barrels are filled of blasting jelly.”
Jet smiled “That's a great score.”
Pipsqueak Holds up a wooden box. “And these boxes are filled with jelly candy!”
I laugh, “Also good. Let's not get those mixed up.”
The Duke- “We'll take this stuff back to the hideout.”
Aang looked at us with wide eyes, “You guys have a hideout?”
Jet laughed “You wanna see it?”
Katara, Very excitedly yells “Yes, we wanna see it!”
Jet smiles at her and we walked towards the hideout.
We stood on the forest floor, i turned and smiled to the group.
Jet- “We're here.”
“Where? There's nothing here.” Sokka said while looking around.
Jet laughed “Hold this.” He says as he gives a rope to Sokka.
Sokka looked skeptical. “Why? What's this do?” He Screams as he is pulled up into the branches. I laugh and grab a tope flying into the trees, backflipping onto a railing.
I look down as Jet grabs Katara and they rise up through the tree together in a “romantic setting.” I would never understand my brother. They come to a landing on a wooden platform in the trees. I look up as Aang is zip lining through the trees.
Aang While passing through with Momo. “Nice place you got!
Katara, It's beautiful up here!”
Jet sighed “It's beautiful, and more importantly, the Fire Nation can't find us.”
Smellerbee lands next to me. “They would love to find you. Wouldn't they, Jet, Con?”
Jet Smirking “It's not gonna happen, Smellerbee.” I jump down and start leading them through the trees.
Katara As Aang zips by again, “Why does the Fire Nation want to find you?”
I look up and laugh “you could say we’ve been causing them a little trouble. See, they took over a nearby Earth Kingdom town a few years back.”
Pipsqueak - “We've been ambushin' their troops, cutting off their supply lines, and doing anything we can to mess with 'em.”
Jet- “One day, we'll drive the Fire Nation out of here for good and free that town.”
Katara- “That's so brave.”
Sokka looks around sarcastically “Yeah, nothing's braver than a guy in a tree house.” I laugh, looking over to him.
Katara- “Don't pay any attention to my brother.”
Jet- No problem. He probably had a rough day.”
Katara- “So, you all live here?” Sokka slows to walk next to me as Katara and Jet “flirt”
Jet- “That's right. Longshot over there?” I look back to Longshot and The Duke walking not making a sound. “His town got burned down by the Fire Nation. And we found The Duke trying to steal our food. I don't think he ever really had a home.”
Katara- “What about you?” I stifined but kept walking as Katara and Jet come to a halt, didn’t want to hear this story again.
“The Fire Nation killed my parents. Me and Connie were only eight years old. That day chan-“
i ran ahead, Jet talked about it freely, but he wasn’t the one who watched them die.
I heard footsteps behind me, i turn and see that Sokka had caught up to me.
“You ok?” He seemed to be genuinely curious.
“Yeah, i prefer not to talk about our parents, Jet talks about them all the time.”
“Oh” he looked at the ground, i realized this was probably pretty awkward for him. We continued until we were almost to my favorite balcony.
I turned and stuck my arm out. “We never properly introduced ourselves, I’m Constance”
He smiled, “im Sokka” he says shaking my hand.
I smiled back, something about the smile was infectious.
“What are you all doing here Sokka?”
He looked a little taken back, “what do you mean?”
I turned back to the balcony and sighed, looking at the view. “I’m sorry, I just-.“
To be honest I was worried, I knew Jet was planing something bad. He wouldn’t fill me all the way in, but he wanted to get rid of the fire nation for good, i was worried about that town that was right by us. I turned back to him and smiled.
“I’m sorry…You all should leave soon.” Like ripping off a bandage, i high-fived myself on the inside, Im gonna need some help to kick out the cute guy.
Now he looked sad, and i immediately felt guilty. “Yeah…we are going to leave tomorrow morning”
“Listen, its not like im forcing you out, i dont know if you noticed but my brother can be a little….”
“Suspicious?”
“Persuasive.” We sat in a comfortable silence for a while. “Its getting late, we should head to dinner”
He sighed, “yeah, they’re probably wondering where we are…”

Summary- After the war you have no where to go so Sokka takes you to the southern water tribe and tries to help you find your nee home
A/n-Was listening to home by philip philips and got inspired, kind of all over the place but here ya go.
The war was over. That was it-you had won. You still couldn’t believe it, Aang took away Ozai’s bending-Zuko was fire lord, all was right.
Except that it wasn’t. You had no where to go, nobody to go home to. All of your family was dead, and you didn’t have friends outside of the Gaang.
They were all so exited to go home, why wouldnt they be? They had something to go home to. You were happy for them, you really were. It just hurt that they wouldn’t need you anymore. You would all go your separate ways and you’d be alone again.
You were on a balcony at the fire nation palace, full, and with clean cloths for the first time in who knows how long. You looked out at the sky and sighed. It hurt knowing they would all leave, everyone had their own lives.
Aang was the literal avatar, leaving to help where he could.
Suki had gone back to the Kioshi warriors.
Zuko was a very busy fire lord, trying to rebuild in Ozais wake.
Katara and Sokka were going to rebuild the southern water tribe.
Thats what hurt the most, Sokka was going to leave you. You had seen it coming, nothing lasts forever. He had a life to get back to and he would leave you behind. You let a tear fall down your face, looking down at the ground.
“Y/n?” You hear from the room behind you. “Y/n!”
You turn to greet an ecstatic Sokka, quickly wiping away your tears.
“I’ve been looking for you everywhere! We are all going to go-“ he stoped as soon as he saw your face.
“Whats wrong?” He asks calmly grabbing your hand.
“Its nothing don’t worry about it” you say smiling up at him.
“Hey, no. No, dont you do that.”
“Do what” you ask innocently.
“That, pretending your feelings dont’t matter, pushing them aside. I’ll ask again. Whats wrong.”
You just look up at him, you weren’t ready to break, not yet. You rushed forward and hugged him, burying your face into his neck. Tears threatening to fall once more. You two stayed like that for what seemed like forever. You didn’t want to let go, you were scared he was going to leave you for good.
“You know the Gaang is waiting for us?” He says as you look up at him.
“Really? Why?”
“We are all going to take one last ride on Appa, before we separate for a few months.”
“Thats great! Lets go” you say putting your smile back on. At least you could pretend that your world wasn’t crashing down on you.
He pulls you back, “i know that theres something wrong, but we can talk later, when your ready.” He gives you a kiss then pulls you down stairs to the rest of the group.

This was it, the day you were dreading. Evryone was going to leave today. And you still weren’t sure where you would go. You didn’t want to go back to roaming the earth kingdom, but thats all you’d ever done. Town to town, what else were you supposed to do?
You were standing in the balcony once again, looking at the ships waiting on the beaches to take your friends away. You hear a door behind you. You turn and see Sokka, all his bags packed, either an unreadable expression on his face. You weren’t ready, you had been mentally preparing yourself for this moment, and you still weren’t ready.
“Y/n? Um, we need to talk” he said nervously. “Everyone leaves today, im going back to the south pole…”
“You dont need to say it”
“I dont?” He looks surprised.
“No, ive seen this coming. I knew you would have to break up with me and go back to your tribe.”
Now he just looked confused. “Break up? Wait you want to break up?”
“No! But i thought thats what you were going to do? Dont you have to go back to your people?”
“No! Well yes, but no! Thats not what I was doing.”
“Oh”
“Yeah…”
It was quiet for a minute.
“So” you pushed.
“Right, so um.” He took a deep breath. “You know how you dont have anywhere to go?”
“Yep, thanks for the reminder.”

“What?” You laughed.
“Do you want to come and live in the southern water tribe with me?” He looked up nervously at you.
You were shocked. Was this really happening? You didn’t have to be alone! You must have been stuck in your head because he cleared his throat.
“You dont have to of course. I was just thinking-“
“Sokka-“
“That it would be fun and-“
“Sokka”
“And you didnt have anywhere else to go-“
“I-“
“And I’ve already checked with katara and my dad and they’d love to have you-“
Sokka!”
“There and it would be awesome so-“ you kissed him-the only way to get him to shut up.
You pulled back and looked up at him. “I love to”you smiled before pulling him in again.

After a week or two of sailing, you had finally reached the southern water tribe. To say you were exited would be an understatement, with all of the stories Sokka told you, you couldn’t wait.
Sokka walked up and hugged you from behind. “You exited?”
You turn your head and kiss him on the cheek. “Of course! What are we gonna do first!”
“Well first we need to unpack” he says laughing as you pout.
“Where am i gonna stay?” You asked, you’d thought about it a lot and didn’t want to overthink anymore.
“My hut..if thats alright? Of course we could have another one made for you, if you’d prefer?”
“Your hut sounds perfect.” You smiled, you were happy to finally have a home.
You and Sokka got all unpacked and went out for a walk. The ice was beautiful like you’d never seen.
“I was thinking, maybe we would go see the-.”You looked up to him. “Actually it’s going to be a surprise.”
“Sokkaaaaa.” You whined “you know i hate surprises!”
“This will be a good one i promise.”

You and Sokka left when it was dark and no one was around. You quietly tip toed out of the village towards huge glaciers.
It had been a while of hiking and you were starting to get tired. “Sokka how much farther?”
“Not far just trust me.”
You hiked in silence until he stopped looking up at the sky. “This should be good enough”
You looked at him puzzled. He laid down and pulled you down with him. You rested your head on his chest, happy with the surprise.
“Look up.” He whispered. You looked up and saw thousands of lights dancing through the sky. So many colors, alls different shapes and sizes. There were colors you had never dreamed of, it was breathtaking.
“Sokka it’s beautiful.” You whispered, captivated by the beauty. You both lay there for a while in a peaceful silence.
Until Sokka sat up, pulling you with him. You were so close your foreheads were touching. “I know you never felt like you’ve had a home.” He says as he gives you a kiss. “But im gonna make this place your home.”
And you never felt alone again.

Sleeping was overrated anyway
Summary-nightmares have been plaguing your mind-and everyone tries to help
Gaang x Y/n - Sokka x Y/n
You havent been sleeping. The nightmares just keep coming and coming. In them you always loose your friends. First Katara, then Zuko, then Toph and Aang, and then- you didn’t want to think about it. Sokka, his death always hurt you the most.
So you decided if you didn’t sleep no problems would happen. At first it was easy, you would go for a walk, train, or just look at the stars.
After a few days your friends started to notice. You were constantly yawning, moving slower in training, and you were constantly irritated.
Each of the gaang tried their own ways to ask what was wrong.
Katara and Y/n were making breakfast. Katara quickly noticed how much YN was yawning, and getting upset at every little thing with the food.
“Are you alright?”
“Im fine”
“Ok you just look a little tired…”which was a understatement when she saw the bags under your eyes
“Im fine-and im not tired.”
“Ok” she says watching you struggle with the food. “Why dont you go train with Toph?” Katara was hopeful that Toph would have better luck figuring out what was wrong with you.
Toph and Y/n started training in hand to hand combat when they stopped to eat some lunch. It had been quiet for a minute when until Toph decided enough was enough and nudged Y/n. Her head immediately snapped up
“I’m awake, I’m fine, I’m awake.”
“Are you sure theres nothing you need to tell any of us? You can talk to anyone, you know.”
“Yup” you said popping the p
“And you’re not tired?”
“i am 100% ok”
“If you say so”
Aang and Y/n were out for a walk, You were trying to focus on walking so you didn’t trip, but the world had other plans as you stumbled but you caught her self on a nearby tree. After that you focused extra on walking and less on Aang babbling about the air benders air ball matches. Only to be defeated by air again, as you started falling to the ground, however Aang quickly caught you.
“Are you sure your ok?” He says carefully “you’ve been acting kind of tired-“
“I’m not tired!” You breathed in and out “i am perfectly fine and wish people would stop asking me if im tired!”
“Ok-lets just head back its almost dinner anyway”
Zuko had made tea while you and Aang were gone, he looked up as you walked into camp. “Hey guys want some tea? It’s the kind my uncle made…jasmine i think”
“Yeah ill take some” Aang grabbed his cup and left to his tent-leaving you and Zuko alone.
“Soo”Zuko said, trying to start conversation
“Don’t even start” you say raising a shakey hand of tea to her mouth. You try to use your other hand to stabilize it, but that just makes things worse and you spill the tea. You angrily set the cup down and stare off to the distance.
“So…uh….do you need anything?”
“No” you replied curtly
“Um ok then.” After a couple kinda awkward minutes he stands up and leaves….to Sokkas tent?
You pulled your knees up to your chest and look at the stars. Then yoy see why Zuko went to Sokkas tent. You were quickly trying to come up with a believable lie, when Sokka started walking towards you.
“Hey” he said sitting down next to you. After you ignore him, he pulls you into his lap, pushing your armas away and raping his around you.
“You want to tell me whats wrong?” He whispers into your hair. You shake your head no and sink into his chest.
“You know your going to have to sleep eventually.”
“I dont want to.”
“Well its kinda a bodily function, everyone’s human-or do you have something you want to tell me?”
“No, your right, i have to sleep. Its just…. Well i-“
“Its ok, you dont have to tell me”
“No i will, i just-saying them out loud makes it real”
“Makes what real?”
“The fears-the nightmares bring them to life”
“nightmares?”he pushes
“Yes, nightmares. Thats why I haven’t been sleeping. I-im scared of loosing all of you. Every single time i close my eyes i see everyone dead around me-and i cant move, i cant scream, i cant do anything. And every time i saw you dead on the ground, i broke. It hurst so bad, and im-scared.” You finish sucking in a long breath.
He looks down at you “i have a idea” and with that he scoops you up bridal style, and carries you to his tent.
Its not like you havent been in here before-but this felt different, more comforting. He flings open the sleeping bag puts you in there and snuggles in right next to you. “Better?”he asks
“Better.” It’s quite for a while. “Sokka?what if the dreams come back”
“It will be different”
“How do you know?”
“Ill be there to protect you”
And you’ve never slept more peacefully in your life.

Bye, bye bending
Sokka x fem!reader
Summary-you make your last stand almost ending in tragedy, as your recovering something unexpected happens
Warnings- nothing really
Not proofread
You are using all of your energy to keep the fire from reaching your friends, who are all exhausted behind you. The fire nation solders sprung a surprise attack and all of you are running out of energy, there are still so many solder. They cornered you and have been sending nonstop fire your way. You are starting to see spots st the edge of your vision, already exhausted from your previous battle, cuts and bruises lined your body.
This is your last stand, your last chance, you can be the hero this time to save your friends. You can feel yourself slipping-preparing to send one last burst of your fire bending energy. You look back qt Sokka, he looks scared but has a brave face on, standing in front of the others with his sword out protectively.
Sokka makes eye contact with you and you can feel yourself break. Just one look and he knows what you’re going to do.
“Y/n don’t!” He screams
You just look at him-not quite ready to let go
“I’m sorry! I love you!” You yell back to him.
You look at the task ahead of you, the five fire benders still shooting continuous fire at you, your fire shield could not hold much longer. Searching deep inside yourself, you summon all the energy you have left. You shoot a huge burst of flame out at all of them.
You see the soldiers all fall to the ground as you go down with them-kind of poetic fire nation being your beginning and end. You hear a scream, it might be yours, your not to sure. The black at the edge of your vision starts to get bigger and bigger, you can feel yourself slipping away. You want to give in let the pain wash over you and leave you alone in your unconsciousness. The last thing you see is Sokkas face, tears falling freely, leaning over you.
“Just hang on Y/n! Hang in there, you’re going to be ok. Hey! Stay awake, stay with me! Please.”-he yells to you, but your vision caves and his pleas fall on deaf ears.

You awake in a tent to hushed voices from outside, your head is pounding, your whole body hurts.
“Is she going to be ok.”
“I did everything i could we just have to wait and see, its all up to her now.”
“Katara i cant loose her, I-“
You bolt up, trying to get to Sokka, you dont want him to worry. However yoh can see the darkness coming back, and you underestimated how injured you still were and as soon as you stood up, you fell. Right on your face. How embarrassing, you just hope no one ever sees you like this.
But someone comes rushing in, forever embarrassing you as you cant even role over to your back. It doesn’t matter because someone picks you up and lies you back down on the sleeping bag.
“Y/n?” And you can tell its Sokka, he sounds sad, you wonder why.
“Mjmfbr”you croak trying to speack
“Shhh, go back to sleep. You need rest.”
And to sleep you went.

You wake up finally feeling well rested. Your eyes opening fully for the first time in who knows how long. You realize someone is holding your hand. Yoh look up to find Sokka. Who then notices your awake and rushes closer to you-if that was ever possible.
“Areyouokyouhaxmesoeorriedwedideverythingwecouldtotryandsaveyoubutweweren’tsureifyouwouldmakeitandivebeensoworriedand-“
“Sokka” you laugh and then wince a little bit. “I cant understand a word you just said.”
“Well, i just-i just missed you that’s all”
“How long have i been out?”
He hesitated “..three days..?”
“THREE DAYS” you screamed “what have i missed”
“Not much, we havent gone anywhere because you were in a critical condition so we couldn’t move you. All you’ve really missed is Katara yelling st me to leave you and ‘go sleep’ like i would ever be able to sleep with you like this”
It was only then you realized how tired he looked. “You mean…you haven’t slept at all?!”
“Well-i couldn’t-i was worried about you.”
You smiled “well im ok now, so you need to get some rest.” You say as you pull him down into the sleeping bag with you.
“But-“
“No buts you need sleep.” You whispered, soon you heard light snoring and new he was asleep, you let yourself fall into the dark void once again.

Almost a week later and you were good as new, you got back on your training schedule, and life went back to normal. Except for one thing.
Your fire bending. It was gone. It wasn’t burnt out, and you weren’t just tired and not able to use it. It was gone. You could feel it. Almost like a part of you was missing.
At first you tried to hide it from the Gaang, but as usual they suspected something was wrong.
Katara say you could always tell her if something was wrong.
Aang would offer to take you on a ride on Appa to cheer you up.
Toph would look at you and make weird faces when you said you were fine, because unsurprisingly its jot easy to lie to someone with a built in lie detector.
Sokka tried to cheer you up either jokes, he did anything to put a smile on your face. And when you kept silent and stared blankly inti the distance, he realized something really was wrong.
So he did what any sensible boyfriend would do and cornered you to get some answers.
“Are you sure your ok” he says when you two are out collecting firewood.
“Of course” you say blankly.
“Ok-you know you can always talk to me.”
“I know”
Ten minutes go by.
“Ok thats enough of that he says turning to you.
“Enough of what?”
“Something’s wrong, i can feel it, will you please just tell me what it is”
You stay silent for a while until tou cant take his pestering anymore. You finally break.
“Ok fine! Something wrong”
“Ah-ha! I knew it. What is it.” He stops walking and turns to you.
“I just-I-well” you weren’t quite sure how ti say it. It was almost like saying it made it true.
“I LOST MY FIRE BENDING” you finally yelled out.
He just stared at you for a minute. And then he realized you were serious.
“Wait, how do you ‘loose’ your fire bending. Are you sure you’re not just tired? Maybe it will come back in a few days?”
“No, it’s gone. I can feel it, theres no spark, no energy, nothing!”
“Oh”
“Oh? OH? Thats almost you have to say? I just lost a part of myself! I just lost the inly thing keeping me on this team! Now that i cant fire bend Aang doesn’t have a teacher anymore! We didn’t even get to start the basics! You guys wont need me anymore! Ill have to-“
“Hey” he says calmly gently cuping your face. “We didn’t just want you on this team because you could fire bend, we wanted you for you. And im sure we can find something else for you to do. I could teach you the sword? We could train together!”
“That would be nice” you smiled, “ he always knew how to calm you down.
“And if you’re missing a part of yourself maybe i can fill that gap.” He says smiling.
You smile back: “I love you”
“I love you too.” He admires you for a minute and then- “can i kiss you?”
You nod and he closes the gap. And suddenly you dont care about your fire bending, or your role on the team. All you care about is Sokka. With him by your side, you won’t need fire bending. You have your missing part.
