“ what is essential to realize when facing this time period or phase that you’re going through, is that moon actually has no light of its own. So what you are currently ‘seeing’ is not entirely ontological, or true. On the Tree of Life, and in life itself, Yesod (Moon) reflects the light of Tiphareth (Sun).
Look deeper at the situation and you will find that there will always be a ‘light’ side to your situation. You need only change your perception, and mostly your attitude toward your situation.A ‘no can do’ attitude will have a ‘no can do’ outcome. If you keep hiding your face in your hands, then that is pretty much your outcome. However, look around and see that there is comfort, warmth, growth, and it’s time to smell the roses! You are a creator! You can manifest anything you really put your mind to, because it is your destiny to achieve! It’s your purpose! The 9 of Swords portrays a very simple concept as old as time itself, “Your thoughts become things”. The more one stresses and freaks out about the fear, the more fearful one becomes. So the 9 of Swords is stressing to you to open your eyes and realize the potential beyond your fears. You actually do have nothing to fear, but fear itself.”

This week I'm pulling a lot of 5's and 9's. But, that 9 of Cups is also coming up frequently.
This morning, my partner woke up in a bad mood for sure. He left in a huff without saying goodbye. This happens at least once a week with him, and I usually react with a confrontational attitude. Most of the time it ruins my day when he leaves that way. Today there is an odd sense of detachment there. I resisted the invitation to fight.
I HAVE had a somewhat trapped attitude, mentally. And right now I am struggling with an empty bank account and about 13 more days before getting paid.
But the one real positive thing today was that I got to spend the morning with my beloved nephew, who's just about to turn 2. Time spent with family is a good thing. Also, my mom and I talked about my money issues and she said she doesn't mind helping me out this month. Thank God.
Just some thoughts on my daily drawing today. Anyone have an alternative perspective on it?

my world vs. your world
Here's a fleeting thought-- I kind of resent decks that have a pregnant female represented in the World (XXI) card. I think it's because... not everyone can be that fertile woman who produces new life. Some of us secretly battle with the intense longing to be in that position. Some of us know we will never physically bear "fruit", and as I am learning on this lightning-speed trip through my fertile years, some of us will immensely hurt over that fact.
These two cards belong to absolutely beautiful decks and I’m not putting their authors down AT ALL. I just have a different opinion of what The World card represents.
Does anyone else feel this way?

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pull any cards for myself today. I started to shuffle the deck (just an absent minded tidying habit) and The Empress popped out. Okay. The Empress has a strong personal meaning to me -- it wa the card that popped out of the deck the day I found out my sister was pregnant (the day she gave birth to my beautiful nephew).
As a woman with a sex life, it always makes me question my own cycles and fertility. This year, I’ve actually cried a few times over the fact that I don’t have any children and I’m 31. I feel nowhere near healthy enough physically or mentally to handle a pregnancy now, and I fear that as I get older I’m just getting further from the mark, My partner seems ambiguous though he speaks often about being happy childless. We are in agreement that as a couple, it would be irresponsible to have a child right now.
So who says The Empress has to be about pregnancy and childbirth? Am I inserting that meaning because of past experiences when drawing this card?
I know The Empress is about creation. So I looked at her and asked, “what are you suggesting I create?”
9 of Cups. The card of wishes granted. Happiness, having enough, satisfaction. Also knowing when enough is enough.
Sensual creations.

10 OF SWORDS
If you asked me to describe my spiritual awakening, this image does so profoundly. Although initially it may appear like a tragic defeat, it is actually the ultimate liberation. This is the death of an old way of being… of an old way of thinking. You can become paralyzed by your own mind. Those piercing fear based thoughts and anxieties weigh heavily on the psyche, and ultimately manifest in the body. It can all become so heavy that you can barely keep your head up… and you just collapse.
•
This is the 10 of swords. The number 10 in tarot signifies completion, and the swords represent the element of air which correlates to the mental realm. It is surrendering to the pain, rather than trying to escape it that will free you. It is indeed a painful process, but in surviving it you realize that your’e a warrior… and you remember that your spirit is indestructible and your soul is eternal.
•
After having been exposed to this much agony, I have to tell you that the healing process is not instantaneous. If you’ve experienced, or are experiencing a similar energy, you must give yourself time to heal. Even amidst the darkest times you can find a gentle, calming energy. It’s all about your perspective. This is the dawning of a new day. Look at the still water in the image which provides a soothing peaceful energy. Focus on the rising of the sun which will eventually fully eradicate any darkness that has weighed you down. Imagine the sun warming your body and giving you life. Picture the water gently washing over you, cleansing your wounds. Take your time and slowly start removing the swords one by one, and allow yourself to get up again, feeling lighter than ever.
•
I hope that 2018 is a very healing, empowering year for you. Be patient with wherever you are in your journey. Stay committed to your goals no matter how many setbacks or obstacles come your way. Remember “the mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.” Don’t allow yourself to ever feel this defeated again. Your potential is far greater than you know, and you’re being offered the opportunity this year to reclaim your power. Rise to the occasion.
